Q:Do I need to put a underpayment before installing

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question on Shaw Vista vinyl flooring.
Additional layer of 6 mil poly film or equal vapor retarder with a perm rating of 1 or less may be used as an additional layer of protection.
A second underlayment is allowed under any currently sold SPC product with attached underlayment. If installed over a second underlayment, this underlayment cannot be greater than 3 mm thick. IIC (ASTM E492-09) and STC (ASTM E90-09) lab testing on certain SPC products tested with and without a second layer of underlayment, to date, does not indicate that a second underlayment will provide additional acoustic benefit.

Q:Is this flooring mold and mildew resistant?
by|Aug 30, 2023

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question on Shaw Vista Graze vinyl flooring. Waterproof vinyl is waterproof so long as the water is on top of the floor. Once water is under the flooring, the foam or cork backing can absorb water which could lead to mold or mildew or subfloor damage when the space stays wet.
Our products do not cause mold and mildew. But wherever there is excessive moisture, mold and mildew can grow.

Q:Can you place kitchen appliances and island on top of floor? Can you clean it using a steam mop?
by|Jun 27, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi Radsan, If appliances are to be installed on top of this flooring (including permanent islands), that area of material must be fully adhered to the subfloor (including an additional 2 feet beyond the cabinets and islands). Recommended adhesives in this case – Lokworx Resilient+ or Shaw 200. We do not recommend using any steam mop on vinyl tile flooring as it will damage the surface. —Shaw Team
