Hello Robert, Our mending plates are a non-loaded plate typically used for wood home projects. If attaching to laminate I'm not sure how you would accomplish that as the teeth impress into wood. Sincerely, McKenzie

The MP Mending Plates are not load rated; it would be up to the Designer to evaluate the suitability of this connector for the specific application. Also, railroad ties can be highly corrosive.
