Questions and Answers for SnappyTrap 1-1/2 in. All-in-One Drain Kit for Double Bowl Kitchen Sinks

A:  It is probably better in the long run than metal piping. We wash our clothes by hand and use bleach, so far, no problem. I don't recall what exactly the material is, but it is made to be durable enough for everyday (though I can't guarantee industrial ) use.

A:  It doesn't seem to. We use bleach and other cleaners regularly and have noticed no issues.

A:  Yes, but take measurements to make sure you don't come up short. I am not sure if they have different sizes, but I did my fairly large double sink in the kitchen with it, and had just enough (with a little wrestling, lol).

A:  Most bathroom sinks are plumed with 1 1/4" pipe the Snappy trap is made for 1 1/2" pipe. It could probably be made to work but it would be easier to use a kit made in the correct size.

A:  I don't see why not if you do the math and parts are long enough. The description states it is for double bowl sink and one of the photos given shows so which I provided here in my answer. Good luck.

A:  No Teflon tape needed

A:  Dear Customer - You don't need to use any Teflon tape, the slip nut and the washers are designed in a way they securly tighten the connections. Thanks!

A:  No reflon tape needed I've had this installed for close to a year. With no leaks at all.

A:  No tape needed. There are rubber gaskets included that use compression to seal the connections.

A:  My plumbing inspector failed mine but I'm not sure if he was aware the inside of the flex drain tube was smooth. If the inside of the drain tubing was like the outside that's what would cause it to fail.

A:  Code would not pass if an Inspection was involved! I bought this for a older home.

A:  I would try to add the “length” to the sewer line rather than add length to the kit parts. Or add a longer drain down spout if the issue is a high sink.

A:  No, you can't add length. This type of trap is a "stop-gap" solution to a problem. The best solution is to do it with regular 1 1/2" PVC trap kits. The little edges of this kit tube will hold water and eventually grow mold/mildew in the tubes...emitting a bad scent.

A:  I don't think it matters which side of the sink has the garbage disposal.

A:  You can put it on either side.

A:  I don't believe it matters, although it should be on side garbage disposal is one if you have one. Otherwise it will most likely be on same side as dishwasher is located on. Hope this helps.

A:  Theoretically if you emptied a bucket of water in one sink and had the faucet running in the other one the water might back up into the sink till it could all drain out. Under normal circumstances you have one faucet and two sinks so you should not have any problem with them draining as long as there are no obstructions in the plumbing in your wall. I have never had a problem with my installation and am very happy with the product. Sure beats the two sinks with one common drain and the dish washer all going down one line. A:  No, as long as you have the drain pipes sloping away from the drain openings.

A:  Yes it can. But you should actually use normal PVC plumbing pipe and not this baffle stuff. It’s a harbor for bad microbes and can break easily over time. Use the real PVC pipe and plumb it the right way.

A:  In our experience, no backup even when both sinks are draining. It has worked great!
