Q:I used a 50A to feed shed. I used 6/3 wire in 80ft run. Outlets are wired correctly and tested. I plugged an LED light and the CB trips. The smallest load will make this CB trip, even a smart switch. is 80ft too much? I don't understand why it's tripping

Q:How many lights can this support.

A: Typically you wouldn't use this breaker (30 amp double pole) for lighting loads unless it's in a commercial environment. I would go with a 20 amp circuit ( single pole breaker) if your looking to put a bunch of lights on one breaker. In that case I wold add your wattage of your lights up, then divide by 120 (voltage) . Don't go over 16amps total, which would be 80% of the circuit capacity. Also use #12 guage wire (12/2 romex) for this circuit. Hope this helps!

A: That’s a loaded question - firstly, one would assume you’re talking residential lighting on either 14/12awg capable of 15/20A respectively, and a 30A breaker shouldn’t have 14/12awg connected to it given ampacity factors of the nmb. Second, it depends on what lights you have…your loads shouldn’t exceed 80% capacity of the breaker so immediately on a 15A that’s a max 12A, and on 20A that’s a max 16A. Next is your lights and wattage of each. A 50W halogen 120V for example will use 0.42A, so on a 15A breaker you could run a maximum of (28) 50W lamps or (38) on a 20A breaker. Using LEDs could be considerably less. And that’s if it’s a dedicated lighting circuit and no receptacles on said circuit.

Q:Is this 50 AMP Breaker the one I would use for a backup Generator wired to my main panel. I'm going with 50 amp breaker instead of 30 amp.

A: Yes,This is what I used for my Generator 50amp Inlet box along with 6-3awg wire.

A: Yes

A: The breaker protects the wire. Your generator will only put out what it’s rated at. Your generator may have an internal breaker that supersedes your breaker. Either way you do need a shut off at your panel.
