      Q:Why doesn't the video show the installation of the release cable into the house wall + the kick pedal. Another vendor's video does show this. My concern is that the kick-pedal might not release in an emergency.

The relase cable must be installed via a hole in your exterior wall for the window guard release to work as designed. The Window Guards are intended to go on the exterior of your house and not the interior. I hope this information is helpful.
