A: From the Home Depot app: 16.95 lb

A: I didn’t weigh it on a scale but it was pretty much the same weight of the one I replaced. Hope that helps
by|Apr 4, 2020
A: Approximately 22 lbs. Not heavy enough to hold down a rain collection box when there is a heavy downpour (water can float a lot of weight), but probably good for basement use.
by|Mar 31, 2020
A: 20.5 lbs; good unit; good warranty. Have 2.
by|Apr 1, 2020
A: I don't recall maybe between 10 and 12 pounds

A: Sparky's answer is spot on (beside the fact he wants to beat you over the head with the sump pump). The other answer assumes the pump is running 24/7...it doesn't. A period (as little as 2 days) of dry freezing weather will destroy the pump if it turns on. Consider re-asking this question describing where you live, where the pump is located (inside or outside), how deep is it, how long is the discharge distance. You also said might freeze? Does that mean freezing temps are infrequent...then it might be as easy is unplugging it during freezing weather patches...freezing temps typically don't generate water build-up in the pump barrel.

A: I would say no because if the impeller freezes there's a good chance the pump would trip circuit. Also float needs to move.

A: HOW CAN YOU EVEN ASK THIS QUESTION? When water freezes it expands & breaks things!! Heavens, imagine if the bottom 6 inches is frozen solid then more water flows in on top - if the float lifts to turn the pump on the impeller will be frozen in the ice & just stall the motor, after the internal overload trips many many times the motor will have burnt out & you'll want warranty & talk trash about this good little pump when it is only your fault!

Q:Can I leave this pump outside, over the winter, when water freezes? ...or do I have to dismantle it in the Fall, and reassemble it in the Spring? It's minimum operating temperature is 40F (and I know it won't pump ice cubes), but if it is sitting in water, does it get damaged when the water freezes?

Answer This Question
A: Storing this pump outside shouldn't be a problem. Hold the unit horizontally with the discharge pointing down to drain any water or pour a little antifreeze in the discharge pipe while the unit is level.

A: Imagine what if the basin has a few inches of ice in it then later fills with snow melt - impeller is still frozen & motor tries to run - after the internal overload trips many many times the motor will burn out, possibly the impeller and or housing is already broken from the ice, you basement floods at the worst possible time & your made at the pump? DON'T BE LAZY TAKE IT OUT it takes all of about 5 minutes of your precious time.

A: I would remove it and I will tell you why . I'm not concerned with the housing breaking because its cast iron and i don't think the pocket of water the housing holds would break it if it froze. The reason I would remove it is because if the float is lifted and the motor try's to spin a frozen impeller you are going to wipe out the motor. On the same note if you have it unplugged to avoid this the pump can be completely flooded and the motor housing can be compromisied if submerged . Remember it's a submersible pump . That's the bottom half of the unit. The top half of the unit is protected by the float to keep the top of the electric drive from being completely submerged for any extended period of time . I hope this helps .

by|Oct 30, 2019
A: Ours is hard wired to an outlet. No battery backup that I am aware of.
by|Oct 31, 2019
A: This is 110V and will need to be wired through a converter from your battery system. You will need to have some type of charging system for your batteries, solar or electric.
