A:  Yes, the product can be cut down.

A:  HeatherAmy - This item can be cut down. We recommend a miter saw if you have one using a fine tooth blade.

A:  yes it can be cut. It is just pvc so it can easily be cut with a hacksaw or mitr saw with a vinyl siding or fine tooth non-ferrous metal blade. Your cut will be hidden by the cap or base trim so if its not perfect you won't be able to tell.

A:  I used the posts with the Vilano railings but I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work with any 36 inch white vinyl railing. The inside sleeves that are used to anchor the railings are moveable to accommodate different railings.

A:  Yes, it is just a decorative cover for a treated wood post. Looks better than the wood post.

A:  Yes, this post kit can be used with any of Weatherables 36" high railing kit. If you in need of the 42" high railing, you will need to use the 44" length. Model# WWR-POSTKIT-4X44

A:  No, this will not work with Bellaire Rail system.

A:  You'll need a minimum length of 36" for a wood 4x4 so that your hardware for the top rail brackets can install though the vinyl into the wood.

A:  It's not critical but works better if the posts are the same length.

A:  You can cut it to length. If you use the caps, the post can run short, or long by 0.25"+/-

A:  Yes.

A:  Yes, in fact our bracket for the railing kit would need to just that. We would recommend a reinforcement inside of the post sleeve since the post itself is not structural.

A:  Yes. But you have to mount it to the concrete

A:  They can yes. As long as what you are sleeving over (4x4 wood or Post mount) will have somewhere strong for the fasteners to go into.

A:  If the aluminum squares are 3.5 inch...it feeds perfect.

A:  This does not come with any mounting hardware.

A:  Yes. Both kits are complete with all required mounting hardware. The post will require only bolts that are suitable for your application whether you are mounting on concrete or wood. Very good packaging for these products.

A:  Jason - the inside dimension is 3.72 inches so it would be very tight if you did manage to get the sleeve to even slide over it.

A:  No, Not without something to lubricate the sides of the Simpson piece and a little encouragement on the top end to drive the rail down. It will go eventually. I used this method with five line posts and didn't split any of the five, but you have to be careful during them down.

A:  A 6 inch post sleeve will do...

A:  We do sell 6 in. x 6 in. vinyl sleeves that come in 120 in. length. If you would like to order these you would need to visit a prodesk at a local Home Depot store. Hope that helps.
