A: Yes you can air flow upward ,protect from rain entering in it

A: I would not. The shutter is not completely water tight. You would have leakage issues.

A: No, I don’t, unless the vanes are mechanically controlled. It appears if the rotation is reversed the vanes would close.

Answer This Question
A: Personally, I can't see a reason that it could not be installed in the horizontal position. Bear in mind though that you would have some leaks in it when rains unless you put some type of cover over it.
by|May 9, 2019
A: No, the fan needs to be installed vertically.

A: A complete installation guide can be viewed via a link on the right-hand side of the product page in order to help you determine if this product will suit your project needs.

Answer This Question
A: This fan was purchased for a shed application. It moves a lot of air and runs quietly, although I can’t tell you the decibel level. The mfg’s website might have those details, or it may be listed in the box in the store.

A: Noise level is not that loud but depending up on wher it is located
by|May 6, 2023
A: It's loud if you're in the attic while it is running. Mine is in my garage attic and when I am in the garage with it running it is very quiet. I just hear a soft humming.

Q:Is this fan explosion proof?

Answer This Question
A: I don't know exactly what you mean by explosion proof but the fan is all encased in a guard. The only thing not encased is the motor.
by|Jun 23, 2021
A: I think it is not
by|May 6, 2023
A: No. The NEC requires "listed" equipment to be installed in hazardous locations. An explosion proof fan will cost at least 10x more than this. Please see #6 of the manufacturers safety instructions. http://ilivingusa.com/manuals/ILG8SF18S.pdf

Answer This Question
A: Probably the best answer would come from the manufacturer. Suggest you contact H/D and see if they can give you the info. . . This will depend on many things as far as noise is concerned. The noise of a three blade fan is somewhat high when there is not enough of an opening for the air to get through. If you are using this to evacuate air, there will probably be more noise than if used to obtain air. Just make sure you have enough of an exhaust/intake ratio to satisfy the amount of air you want to move. . . Sorry I can't be more help. . . . .
