The steps I replaced were very old and didn’t have a stringer. I used this and watched a how to video. I’m not a carpenter and have not done many home improvement projects. This was fairly easy for the DIYer!

The angle of the back runner that goes against the...
The angle of the back runner that goes against the face board of the deck was not square leaving all of the other steps off square. I have about a 10 degree slope on all of my steps despite the steps themselves being cut square. I didn't have time to redo the concrete slab if I would have changed it

We used these for steps down a slope into the...
We used these for steps down a slope into the backyard. Grading the slope was the difficult part. These stringers with some steps/runners you cut for us in the store from a 2" x 10" x 16' cedar tone board made the rest of the project go smoothly. The steps are very sturdy & should last a long time.
