nice fence

In 1992, 28 years ago, I fenced in my entire 100' x 75' backyard for safety around our new pool. This product has held up great. I've never painted the fence panels, treated them, or power washed them. Just let them weather naturally and they still look great. Here's the reason I only gave 3 stars, in my review, and said "Buyer Beware - Great Product - But Item Is Not As Pictured!" The fence panels I purchased from Home Depot in 1982 look just like the one in the current item's picture. A total of 18 boards per fence panel. 9 boards on one side and 9 boards on the other side. So the old fence panels are exactly 6ft. H x 8 ft. W from board to board. However, after ordering 9 replacement fence panels for a section of the fence closest to our pool that we're extending, based on the current item description, specs. and pics, after delivery I found the current fence panels only have 17 boards per fence panel. 9 boards on one side and 8 boards on the other side. So, the total length of the fence panel, board to board, is 91", not 8' (96"). Each of the three cross pieces stick out 2.5". So, the cross pieces are are 8" (96"), but not from board to board.

The photo of the fence is straight on and it looks solid. From an angle, however, there are gaps between the panels and the fence is not a privacy fence which is what I wanted! Very disappointed that I made this purchase.please consider changing the main photo to one that shows the fence at an angle. It is misleading to show the fence straight on.

The fencing was exactly what we were looking for. The delivery was messed up and only 1/8 of panels were delivered. Had to schedule a 2nd delivery date.

Pretty cheap construction. I was extending existing fence in the yard and the old fence was much better quality. My contractor had them delivered. 2x3 cross boards instead of 2x4s. The fence pieces are spaced too wide apart for privacy. A few of the sections were racked. The boards feel too light and cheap to be pressure treated as claimed. I had him return them and buy real pressure treated 2x4s and the pieces to build rather than prefab. Pretty disappointed in the quality. Home Depot cut corners on this one. You get what you pay for.

The fence was easy to install . Good fast solution for privacy.

The Shadowbox Fence is a good privacy fence we put on one wall of our deck. The lumber itself was in fair to good shape not great..

AS A DO IT YOURSELFER I PROBABLY WOULD NEVER TACKLE THIS JOB ON MY OWN EVER AGAIN. THE PANELS ARE EXTREMELY HEAVY TO MANEUVER JUST TO PICK UP FROM THE STORE LET ALONE TRYING TO INSTALL THEM. THE SELECTION AT THE STORE WAS NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE AS A FRIEND AND I HAD TO LIFT OVER A DOZEN OF THESE PANELS JUST TO FIND TWO DECENT ONES WITHOUT MAJOR CRACKS AND DEFECTS. LEAVE THIS JOB TO THE PROS WITH THE CORRECT TOOLS AND MACHINERY EVEN IF ITS ONLY TWO PANELS.

I need to see how product does over time but some panels are already split and cracked which is annoying.
