Beautiful fan. Three blades deliver nicely on lowest setting.

We purchased two of these fans. The airflow is awesome. We have had to turn other fans off in our great room area because it gets too cool. We have been able to turn our air conditioner down .The CFM is 6781. This brand does have another fan with a higher CFM, but we liked this style. The blades are ABS. They are easier to clean than MDF. They do not stain over time like MDF either. The fan was easy to install. It would have taken an hour to install if not for a stripped screw on the mounting plate. I could not find my double ended screw extractor and had to go buy another one. It was easy enough to remove with the extractor. I used a screw from the fan I took down to replace the stripped screw. The other Aire Minka Hi-Wind fan I installed had a stripped screw in the same area. If you are not replacing a fan, you may want to have an extra screw available when installing. I had a generic ceiling fan wall control in place already. I hooked this fan up to that control. It works the fan, and the light. But, it does not control the reverse feature that is on the fans remote control. We have our fans run clockwise year round so that does not bother us. If you want a wall control that controls all the features you may have to buy an AIire Minka brand. Otherwise, just use the remote control that comes with the fan.The light is brighter on the wall switch control. The wall switch turns on bright and dims down two levels. The fan on the remote is controlled by pressing and holding the light button. I installed it on a 3/4" downrod 36" long. It did rattle initially. But another reviewer mentioned how to fix it in his review. So, I put a couple of pieces of folded over tape on the underside of the coupling cover where it touches the fan motor. That took care of that issue. The other fan I hung did not have that issue. It would have been nice not to have one screw on each mounting plate strip,but the fan is worth buying. It is a nice style, has ABS blades, quiet,and is reasonably priced for a fan with such good airflow.

Our previous ceiling fan was clunky, inefficient, noisy. Minka revolutionized our space. It's smooth, quiet, and impressively cooling. It also hugs our ceiling, making the space look brighter and bigger. An excellent product, but the lampshade glass started to crack w/in 3wks. Trying to replace part

The Minka ceiling fan has a really great look to it. The fan was easy enough to install on our 8 foot bedroom ceiling. The light provided gives off enough to light up the entire bedroom. Having the ability to adjust the lighting is a plus too. The only suggestion would be to transition to an LED light bulb. The remote is very convenient, controlling the fan speeds, blade direction and light function. You can also adjust the light intensity if desired. The fan is sleek and modern and is performing flawlessly so far. Pros: Ease of assembly , Eco-Friendly, Functional, Good Size for our needs, Quality of materials, Looks great, Lots of features on the remote, Nice design, Very bright light that can be adjusted, Well made. My wife and I love the Minka fan so far and we know you will too.

As I was replacing an older ceiling fan on a 12 feet high ceiling, the fitting of this new one was straight forward and only swooped the hanger over and was completed with a two hour time frame. The connections were all simple to put together which was explained in the very clear and precise instructions along with everything that required assemble. The transmitter and receiver worked perfect the first time of trying giving me the 3 speed option along with the light dimmer and reverse direction of the blades. This transmitter does not in any way interfere with my ceiling fans in any of the six rooms we have them fitted but this option to change the operating code is available. This one I fitted is to the only room that is controlled using a pull switch. Again no problems at all. The balance kit I did not have any use for as the fan on either of the three speeds showed no indication of `out of balance` and runs smooth and very quiet distributing an even air flow in my 15 feet X 12 feet room. The only two cons I know of is in the removal of the glass lighting cover. A quick reverse twist to remove it according to the instructions became a major obstacle as the more pressure I was putting into taking it off, the more I was afraid of breaking it. Even when it did finally complete the counter clockwise movement, it was still stuck and was with some careful effort that I was able to remove it. The second issue is that I would have thought that in today’s consumer energy efficient market, the 100W halogen bulb would have been LED compliant even perhaps at the expense of the light dimmer. Having said that, is it worth the cost? In my opinion the answer is a definite yes. Good air flow, reliable control unit and a very easy to put together ceiling fan and it looks high end, which it is.

This 5-star rating is rare for me even though I have two this month. ==== First Impressions ==== Everything is well packaged and protected. The box is quite heavy, an indication of sturdy items? Maybe. Fan looks good in the ads, let's see. ==== Assembly / Installation ==== As usual for most fans, there are a lot of parts to assemble, even parts that would seem to be capable of being done before packaging. You can install this fan in one of two configurations: close-to-ceiling or farther down using a short rod as an extension. I used the standard (farther down) one. The support is easy with just two screws to attach. I am not a big fan of this ball-and-hanger type of support because the hanger is usually made of cast aluminum and can be easily broken. Nevertheless, most fans use that type these days. For this method, you put the hanger rod into the motor housing using a set screw and locking security pin. Onto the downrod, you place the coupling cover, canopy cover and canopy before hanging the motor assembly to the support. In this method, the decorative "dress" rings for the canopy are not used. The rest is fairly simple. But I encountered a problem with rattling when the fan changes speed. I found that the coupling cover sitting directly atop the motor housing as causing the rattling, so I put 3 small pieces of duct tape between them. That fixed the rattle. The cover is just supposed to sit atop the motor without any fasteners to prevent rattling. I mention that now because it is a little easier to do at this stage than later. The blades attach easily with screws. The supplied 100 Watt Halogen light bulb is very small and does not really put out much light through the glass filter. Do not expect to light up the whole room with this fan's light. If like me, you have another similar fan with a remote control, you have to change the switch settings of the remote control and receiver to something other than the default settings. My remote controlled a fan in another room as well as this one and it was not even the same type or manufacturer. So I had to change the switch settings. The settings are not important as long as they match receiver and remote and do not match anything else in the house. I set mine to 1-OFF and 2,3,4 ON. ==== Operation ==== The fan can only be controlled by the remote control, so I would keep a spare 12v battery on hand. It does work flawlessly for the fan speeds and the light control. Press the light button and the light turns off or on. Press and hold the same button and the light ramps up to max brightness and then down to minimum. This repeats as long as you hold the button down and will hold the brightness whenever you release the button. That brightness setting is saved for future use. The fan control works perfectly as well with 3 speeds available. It also has a reversing button that changes the air direction to up or down. That button can be used anytime the fan is in operation at any speed. The setting is remembered for the next use. Personally I would have liked to see the fan OFF button and light button reversed in position because the light button is in the middle of the 3 fan speed buttons where think the fan OFF button should be. The high speed operation provides a lot of airflow, over 6000 cubic feet per minute at only 65 Watts of electricity. That is enough to get an Energy Star certification but unfortunately this fan doesn't qualify due to it's use of a Halogen light bulb. Too bad. I found the light's glass filter/globe to be difficult to remove. You are supposed to just twist it counter clockwise from below to remove it, but it binds and does not give a good feel for when it is ready to lower. Installing the globe is likewise tricky. Let's hope you won't have to remove it very often. I wish the light was an LED array instead. I debated whether to subtract a star for that problem but decided not. I find this fan to be very attractive, and efficient. ==== Summary ==== Some minor installation and operational bugs, but the fan is very efficient and easy to operate. High airflow amount but not much light output. Looks good.

The quality and detail of this fan amazed me. The box it is in looks cheap but the fan and light do not. Well put together with clear instructions. The blades are plastic but once they are on the unit of painted metal it looks great! It comes with a remote that is easy to use and can be pointed in any direction but still works fine. I didn't realize until I had it installed, even though the instructions warned me, that my fan in the other room was on the same code! So I had both fans controlled by one remote, I'll be changing that soon. I hung mine without my drywall to make sure I had the location right. Easy to install, about 1.5 hours.I used the ceiling hugger config, but it comes with a download if you want traditional.

The fan was super easy to assemble. Has GREAT airflow and looks sharp. Remote feels a bit cheap but LOVE the fan/light.

The fan is high quality and easy to install. I'm very satisfied.

The fans are sleek and modern but one light kit needs replacement. I called several weeks ago but never received it. That needs improvement.

I wanted a ceiling fan that was not really obvious, but was sleek, quiet and strong. (I bought 3) I really like how these look. The light is not the brightest, but I prefer table/floor lamps for reading, so that is okay for me. It also softens the lighting in my kitchen, as opposed to the recessed lighting ... My contractor installed them, So I've no idea of the ease of installation.

Quiet. Like the remote.

I installed a Minka Aire fan/ceiling light in my previous home and I liked it, so I ordered several for my new home. They don’t disappoint. I like the clean modern design, the dimmable lighting and the ease of installation. Compared to other brands, the price is right, too.

Love the modern look, but my husband couldn’t figure out how to put the top trim on. Also, the light isn’t that bright.

The fan works as advertised...I found the installation instructions to be difficult, and wholly inadequate.

The fan seems to work fine but I was disappointed that it is not flush as pictured. Rather, it has a stem that is several inches long causing it to hang lower from a ceiling that is not high to begin with.

The fan was straight forward to install and has worked well after the burn in period.

We have installed three of these fans, a d we are very happy with their performance and especially their look.

Had it installed and it's wabbles... Will have to return nd reorder because we love the design!

Missing a part. Minks still hasn’t supplied it after two weeks. Looks like the fat is going back to Home Depot.

Love the fan. Powerful.

Sadly, this fan was replaced after only 6 months because of a motor hum on low and medium speed that kept us awake. On a positive note, the 3 glossy white blades were very easy to keep clean. We donated this fan to Habitat for Humanity and purchased a high end Minka Aire that is totally silent and we are now pleased with our fan.

Everything was great but the light bulb did not work. It was burned out so I bought another one. (Halogen)

Install directions were horible. A little louder than i would expect. However it looks and works great.
