I picked up the fridge at one of HD's sales, with all discounts for $1199. At that price point for a stainless french door you don't complain. Well, most people wouldn't... but I'm not most people. The fridge (exterior) looks great... far more upscale than it actully is. The interior is nice, but not cream of the crop by any means. The door controls are easy to use and look good. Nice LED everything. My problem? Ice. I knew in buying this, that in comparison to my old Whirlpool french door that had ice storage in the door, that this Amana would be missing a lot more storage space inside, what with the ice maker taking up so much space. That in itself isn't a problem, because I'm single and a total disaster in the kitchen... meaning I don't have a lot of food on hand. A family that needs space might want to opt for in-door ice though. My beef with it is the quantity of ice. For an icemaker this size you'd expect to open it and find a small Swiss village in there. But nope... it's good for maybe two 32oz cups, that's it. Otherwise it's an awesome buy for the price.

I love the overall set up, the adjustments for the crisper drawers, the separate meat and cheese compartment, the ice/water in the door, and the freezer on the bottom.

Have had this product 3 days and have to call service already since the ice maker will not make ice AT ALL. The layout the refrigerator is great but the ice maker takes up a lot room not to work!! NOT HAPPY.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this fridge on Sept 1st. I love my new Amana Refrigerator. The space inside is plenty enough for my uses and I love the light that works as a night lite for me in the door along with water and ice and I can also lock these features so granddaughter does not spill water or ice on the floor!

I have always preferred a bottom freezer to a top freezer. Mainly because bending down to use the most frequent section of a refrigerator makes cleaning and organizing a bit more aggravating. To have a bottom freezer with French doors only adds to the ease of use and cleaning. I also love the following features for obvious reasons: The gallon sized door shelf makes it easier to store milk & retrieve it without lowering the temp in the rest of the unit. The crispers have humidity controls on the individual drawers to better regulate the humidity for the different produce. And I can't forget the Pantry drawer that gives added storage for either smaller items or for the occasions that you have cakes or pastries that need refrigeration. The freezer basically has 3 compartments to store your different meats and freezer items. It is so nice not to have frozen items slide out and land on your foot. I can now sort through the freezer without fear of another broken toe. The pullout basket makes storing boxed items so much easier to get to, and also works well for the ease of getting to the ice cream. The ice and water dispenser are also very convenient. The only two drawbacks are: the water is not dispensed at the colder temperature I prefer, and when dispensing a large amount of ice cubes or using the crushed ice feature, the ice maker tends to clump up. This is nothing I worry about since every ice dispenser I've used has done the same thing. It is not difficult to put your fingers up through the opening and unjam the ice. You just have to be prepared to catch the ice or you'll get a shower of ice landing on the floor when you break the jam free. All in all I have no complaints about this appliance and I will gladly recommend this unit to family, friends, or other shoppers I see looking at refrigerators at the store.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very pleased with this unit that replaced a Kitchenaid that had aged and had a failed icemaker. We like the three-door arrangement. The bottom freezer seems more roomy that the side-by-side arrangement of our older unit. My only irritation comes with the lid on the bottom full-width crisper(?) tray in the fridge section. This lid works fine if you pull the tray out by the tray lip (which raises the lid), but pops out if you pull the tray out by the lid, and then I need to re-set it by feel because I cannot see the connection. It should be more securely affixed to the tray body. Other than this snag, we like the unit very much.

I bought this a few months ago and it's turned out to bile a great choice.

Had a glitch in delivery, but once it arrived, it was worth the wait! This is a wonderful refrigerator! Roomy, well designed, and I love the sturdiness of the ice maker!

I love the room, the features, and it is quiet except when the ice drops into the holder.

I searched long and hard before purchasing my Amana refrigerator. I was not looking for an appliance with any bells and whistles. Something simple. I wanted a reasonably priced fridge, with ice maker and water dispenser on the outside, and freezer on the bottom. I found exactly what I wanted with Amana. It's spacious in the inside and keeps food at a good temperature. I have had it for about 6 weeks now and I am very pleased. I had to purchase it unseen since it was only available on line. My only recommendations for the company would be for it to run a little quieter and be smudge proof on the outside. All in all a nice product.

Almost from delivery of this appliance it was problems and it started with delivery people who got an attitude with me because they insisted they deserved a "5" rating (highest) for their performance and I was not about to and they went so far to say they would be fired if they did not receive a 5. They were to have set it up and walk me through the operation and controls and that never happened. It took what seemed days to get ice and then only about 2 cups worth each day was produced. I called service and their biggest concern was "Was it under warranty?" and then I because the trouble shooter and did I do this and did it do this and so and so on. It took 2 weeks for a service tech to arrive and I said it had gotten worse and less ice. He did so e things and said it should be good now, well now was not any better and weeks later I had enough and called again and went through the process if you do not have the needed information hang up and call when you do sort of treatment. I was told I would have some one out and it was not the day or time they said at the Amana service center call. After two trips more by service they installed a "new version ice maker" and all should be good for ever and ever. I waited 2 days and still no ice and so again I called and they (service Amana) asked if the ice maker was "ON?" Well I would have expected the service person to turn it on, well it was not and it started making ice again. It, ice-maker has a major design flaw because if ice gets backed up or clogged for whatever reason the whole shoot for ice get blocked full of ice cubes and when you open the freezer door you receive hundreds of pieces of ice all over the floor. This massive ice dump has happened to me numerous times because there is no way to get to the backup without opening the freezer door. Now again the ice maker stopped producing and Charlie (service guy) came and looked and acted lost and said he ordered parts again and when they come in they will call and make appointment to replace parts again. I have since learned the warranty for AMANA is ONE year that is 1 year and the cost of extended warranty is outrageous. There are many issues I have learned and sure would never EVER buy any Amana garbage again in my life.

Our fridge died and after an attempt or two to revive, we had to give up and buy new, so we upgraded to ice/water thru the door - what a nice thing to have. The freezer closes tight and we no longer have issue of ice at the bottom of the freezer, which we could never figure out how to prevent with our previous fridge.

I enjoy the look and style of this fridge. It's easily adjustable shelves help with organizing.

I purchased my refrigerator two months ago, and thus far no complaints. I do have particles in my water and when ice melts. Had a new water line put in for my wonderful refrigerator. Love the extra large freezer and double door refrigerator section.

WIFE LOVES IT

I like the large bottom freezer with shelf, and the adjustable shelves in the refrigerator. We only had it for about 3 months when it quit making ice. We waiting for 2 days and still no ice. We did not fill an ice chest or anything but our drinking glasses. I finally bought a bag of ice & filled the ice container. On the 3rd day it started making ice again. The water line was not kinked because we were getting water. Is this a common complaint about this brand?

The designers of this refrigerator really did their homework. It's well engineered. Space is utilized very well. The temperature is maintained so well we have noticed that our foods stay fresher longer. The large shelves in the door allows for multiple gallon sized items. Very nice fridge!

We bought this unit after our old one gave out. It is nice size and I really like the bottom freezer drawer. However, we were told at the store that the ice bin was one of the larger ones on the market. If this is true, the other units have remarkably small ice bins. With five of us, one medium cup of ice each empties the bin.

My wife is crazy over the wide deli drawer that stores so much. We have Amana's before and really like your product.

You get what you pay for. Not as roomy as I would like. Doors stay open easily

I read many reviews before buying a new refrigerator. I knew the features I wanted and had it narrowed down to a few brands. The reviews for the brand I had originally considered were very poor, most indicating noise as the main problem. Amana had much more favorable reviews, so that made my final decision. I am very glad I purchased this Amana. It is very quiet, operates flawlessly and looks great. The best thing about this product was the price. This model has the same features of the Korean and Japanese brands but was nearly HALF the price. I had to unpack the unit myself since my home remodel was not ready when it was delivered. The unit was packed very well and the unpack and install instructions were very clear. I had to remove the door handles to get it through my front door, but the design of the door handles made that a very simple process. Overall, this refrigerator is engineered and designed extremely well. I know that Amana and other brands share the same core manufacturer, but it is obvious there is a big quality difference between the sister brands. I would highly recommend Amana.

I knew I wanted a French door refrigerator with the water and ice on the outside and this is perfect. My husband loves that the water tastes clean and it's gotten him to drink more. I love a glass of cold water so this fits our needs. It's the perfect fit for the two of us and I couldn't be happier. I love the bottom drawer that holds small items that I need easy access to but doesn't need to be in the way of other food items. The freezer is wonderful and the temperature controls on the outside make it easy to set the fridge and freezer to the perfect temperature.
