So, I bought this toilet in 2018, and it recently started having a defect in the front of the toilet bowl.. But, I will be totally honest! American Standard replied to me within 1 business day, and I provided detailed pictures of my issue with them. After very short deliberation on their end, they were true to their lifetime warranty on china! I received a check today from the company, and had purchased the Champion 4 because I love the 1-peice (hate two pieces), and love the flush quality.

Honestly, for $500 toilet, the supply chain quality control in mexico could be better! Hate the business drive for profit and low standards. Toilet has cracks from manufacturing in bottom trap and the “frame” that suppprts the base of the toilet isnt even! Deviates by 1/8 so i had to sand it down. Finally, there were spots of clay i had to grind down undernear because im setting it on a “repaired” flange, which has its own frame that the toilet needs to sit on. Basically, i need the bottom to be flat, and it was not… so bring out some grinding tools and be careful! Back isnt fully glazed, the bottom white glaze doesnt even meet the bottom of the toilet! Giving 3 stars because its probably better than cheapy Kholers or off-brands. See pic and decide for yourself! It will only let me upload one picture. Go JB weld!

Pleased with the look, finish and overall quality. Flushing ability is at the top of my list, and this toilet for a water conserving toilet has a great flush cycle. The flush is not quiet though, if that is a requirement. The 16.5 rim height is a very nice feature.

After installing and using for the past month, l would rate this as a solid toilet. With the large trapway, clogs are nonexistent, which is nice. One less thing to worry about. One downside, that was noted in another review, was that while it had a powerful flush to rid the waste, the water flow doesn't flush the bowl clean all the time which requires the occasional brushing and 2nd flush. It is a powerful flush and not overly loud. One other thing, if you use the blue drop in cleaners, you may not get the desired result because of the raised middle where the flapper is located. It created a shallow indentation on both sides of the flapper where the blue tablet will sit and not be stirred up enough to maintain the blueness in the whole tank. I will see if placing one right in the middle of the raised part will result in better distribution of the blue. If not, then I would recommend a hanging cleaner, if you want the blue water, than the drop in. All in all, a very solid unit but with a couple of idiosyncrasies.

I have an Amer. Stan. toilet for 10 yrs. It has the large outlet into the bowl and I have been impressed by the 1.6 GPF performance. When I remodeled I specifically sought out this brand. I live in Calif., only 1.28 GPF max allowed. I traveled across the state line to get this 1.6 GPF. Well worth it

Final fit very poor. After installation noticed tank cover does not fit well on top of tank. Right side by handle fits well, the left side is a bit shorter showing unfinished ceramic at the top of the tank. Tried calling American Standard and gave up after an hour on hold.

I recently remodeled our downstairs bathroom and wanted to keep the old toilet because it functioned very well and I have heard horror stories about these "low flow" toilets. In the process of remodeling we must have stressed the old toilet because after several months it developed a crack. My wife and I read many reviews on toilets and decided to give this one a try. I was concerned about getting a one-piece toilet into a confined space but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (having a very strong son to help was the difference). Although it is one piece, it weighs less than the old toilet that was two pieces. This toilet has "siphonic action" and flushes a little differently than I am accustomed to but it works great. Since I live in a state that only allows you to buy 1.28 GPF toilets, I had to "smuggle" this one into Georgia from South Carolina. So if you live in CA, TX, GA, etc. and are only allowed 1.28 GPF toilets, I highly recommend buying this toilet and have it shipped to a Home Depot in an adjacent state, it is worth the short road trip. It's the CHAMP!

The design of the flow is very poor and the water justy flush from the center of the bowl, leaving the side and bottom of the toilet unclean. Even flushing it again has no effect.

Good toilet delivery untrue pay for what you don’t get

Love how the 1-piece toilet cleans up. Long-time plumber recommended 1.6 gal. capacity to increase pressure flow into a hybrid septic system--my 1.2 gal. Cadet model was not able to do the job, also it was more than 10 years old--time for something new. Works as expected and advertised. It's a Champion! So is Marta at the Payson, AZ Home Depot. She worked through a non-delivery issue because the toilet was lost in shipping. Lovely customer service skills in ordering another, which arrived, and making sure my HD card was not charged twice.

Toilet is excellent. The seat is quite comfortable. The flush is amazing and the tank refills quickly. So far nothing sticks to the surface of the bowl. The only negative is the unglazed portion of the lid (the bottom rim) shows slightly when installed.

I love this toilet, it’s works as designed. It hardly ever gets plugged and does not use a lot of water to accomplish this. The only negative thing is that I’ve needed to buy 3 of these toilets so far, the first one the upper reservoir that holds the water to flush the toilet cracked and my second toilet cracked and leaked under the toilet bowl at the front water jet. I only had to buy a new toilet due to not having the receipt and not registering it so the cost of replacement was my fault. I recommend this toilet but make sure that you register it with American standard to take advantage of the warranty if you need it…..they save a picture of your receipt for you to make warranty claims easier.

Had these toilet models before and they work great. After months of problems with toilet backups at our new house, I replace our builder-provided models with two of these Champion 4 models. No backup problems since! Home Depot delivered them 2 weeks sooner than promised, and the delivery itself went smoothly. The one-piece models look great and work perfectly. Highly recommended!

They are everything advertised. No issues with delivery or mechanically.

Less push more go! 3 stars because the seat will not stay locked on one side.

In the past, It was always necessary to flush more than once (even 8-10 times). Plungers and Toilet snakes were regularly needed due to poor toilet design. I searched on online for recommendations for toilets with excellent flushing. The Champion 4 came with high recommendations. I replaced my toilets with these and now have one flush toilets that actually work. I am more than pleased.

This is a REALLY expensive toilet, and there are things lacking or wrong that should not be. There is no insulated tank available, surely this should be a given, there are lots of people in North America who will have condensation issues in the winter. Many cheaper toilets come standard with insulated tanks. The seat does not fit properly, the mounting points are too high, so that the rear pads on the seat are not resting on the bowl rim by about 4-6 mm. From American Standard, these issues are not acceptible. The flush is great, the height is good, but so do other manufacturers

This toilet is nice although I find the flush have to be held down inorder for a full flush. The seat is extremely slow in coming down, also too thick definetly not as good as the one I bought 10 years ago

Bought this because i thought it was taller , it says tall height in description. Anyways , nope same height as the american standard i have . Returning it

Great fixture, seat sucks no matter what brand I purchase they send a substandard seat, for 500 dollars send a quality seat. Like putting lipstick on a pig. Someone In quality control figure it out!

The toilet looks modern and flushes nicely. It is pretty quiet.

I know water conservation is important but if you have to flush twice what good is it ! I think it only gets about 2 inches of water in the bowl and I think it is is set for the most water I can have in the bowl. I want someone to let me know how much water should be in the bowl

Noisy, almost violent flush. Easy close seat rather flimsy. Expected more for $500+.

Terrible toilet, it gets clogged about once every three flushes. Plumber told me after the fact that this particular design has a problem with the opening for flushing. Disappointing for American Standard.

Hundred percent better than the previous always-clogging basement toilet it replaced. We needed a good flush and a good fit in a small full bathroom. This toilet pricey due to being a one piece (and pricier to have installed than a 2 piece), but a one piece better fit in the small bathroom while still having the elongated seat-- the one piece sticks out less distance from the wall than a 2 piece with elongated seat. So far very happy with it-- gets daily use.
