I notice several people giving the same input-which is that the color swatch is nothing like the reality. Behr’s response is weak at best- why is it the customer’s responsibility to test, retest, repurchase this product because the coloring is so BLATANTLY off? It’s not even close! Just correct your awful swatches!! We tried the old adobe base with the dried cranberry accent. Instructions said to use 2 quarts of accent for every 1 gallon of base. We used almost half of that accent color and it still came out very dark.

Hi Stephanie,

Thank you for reviewing our concrete dye. I'm sorry to hear that the colors look darker than expected! Since you've already applied your accent color, the best solution would be to remove the dye, etch the concrete until it has a similar texture to 150 grit sandpaper, then reapply your base and accent coat in a small area. If the color and finish matches up to the color chip, you can continue to apply the dye to the rest of your project. for further assistance with this, please feel free to reach out to us directly. - Sara Behr

The end result did not match the photos in the brochure. The base color did not sufficiently cover our patio to create the variegated look. I did use the calculator provided by Behr to purchase the correct amount of dye. If fact I overestimated the amount needed. The product is shipped in 1 gallon paint cans, and this made it very difficult to transfer into the sprayer without spillage. It would have been easier if the product was shipped in plastic containers to aid in filling the sprayer. I would not recommend this product.

    Hi Trebor,

Thank you for taking the time to review our concrete dye. I'm sorry to hear that the end result didn't turn out the way you expected! A gallon of dye will cover 175-250 Sq. Ft. for your Base Color and 350-500 Sq. Ft. for your Accent Color. It's also best to test your spraying technique out on a piece of cardboard or in a small test area to make sure you're happy with the color and pattern it's being applied in. For further assistance with your project, please feel free to reach out to us directly. - Sara Behr

    I would not recommend
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would not recommend this product. I followed the directions and steps for prep and application exactly. My concrete patio looked amazing when finished. It was so beautiful. An the places that have stayed in tact are still beautiful. However, this product peels up in little spots here and there leaving white spots on the patio. You have to be very careful not to scrape it with a chair, so I put felt feet on all my patio furniture. But still in random spots it will just peels up for no reason - no traffic, no furniture, nothing to make it peel. The smallest spot is just a spec size but the largest is a couple of inches across. This was a very expensive project since I dyed about 900 square feet of patio. I just hope I can somehow repair the areas that have peeled.
