Cheap plastic safety shield
The front retracting tip of the cheap plastic blade guard broke-off the first time I used it. To me it looks like a weak point that should be better designed. A good heavy plastic epoxy fixed it. On the plus side, I love the fact that the B&D 20v batteries work on all the B&D cordless tools I own.

I would give the tool five stars because it is...
I would give the tool five stars because it is light and easy to handle in tight spots. My corded saw is too heavy to saw straight in tight spots. But I thought it came with a battery, but when it did not, I noticed that the check mark was grayed out. Would have got the checked one if I were paying attention. So gave it 4 stars.

does what it should
I've used this saw for several fairly large projects and it works well. Just dont try to force it and you'll be fine.
I used it to build an 8x12 building and several decks, framing, plywood, and PT lumber. I haven't used my corded skil saw since I got this one. The blade is average, but sufficient for most jobs.

This Black & Decker saw is not quality. I tried to use it to cut up an old wooden picnic table, it started smoking within 20 minutes. It is not worth the price or hassle.

You Get What You Pay For
Feels cheaply put together and flimsy. Laser sight was off, right out of the box. Sometimes the cheapest option provides cheapest quality. I won't be buying this again.

So far this saw has worked flawlessly. Easy to use and the cordless (battery powered) feature is an extra. I have several Black & Decker battery powered tools and all use the 20-volt MAX Lithium-Ion battery.

This cordless circular saw has met my expectations so far....
This cordless circular saw has met my expectations so far. I did not give it 5 stars because I haven't used it with a better blade. The blade that comes with is definitely for rough cuts.

I bought this saw because I've got black an decker tools sn all take same batteries.. good little saw , not an everyday saw .. an my wife found a $50 home depot card on the ground outside of a dollar store .. really.. so it was like free. So cool
