When purchasing a Keyed Entry lockset, there’s a few things you should always look for, and this Baldwin, “Prestige Series” Torrey Lever with Venetian Bronze finish has them all covered! First, the form. The workmanship in the manufacturing phase can really be seen in this lockset. All details & edges are finely crafted and has the heft and feel of a great entry lockset. This Keyed Entry set would look perfect, enhancing any front door in which it protected. Next, the function. This is one of the few locksets that I have installed that say they are "Bump Proof" with superior lockpick resistance! One of the main reasons to install a keyed lockset is to provide protection for your home. Today your entry door needs the maximum protection available and I feel this lockset provides that. Additional characteristics provide easy installation that it fits all standard door preperations, accomodating door thicknesses from one and three eighths inches to one and three quarter inches. The lever style handles are fully reversible for either right or left handed doors. The installation was a breeze, as long as your just replacing one entry lockset for another. This keyed lockset has two backset positions that enable you to easily install the assembly with the standard backset position of two and three eighth inches or two and three quarter inches. The backset position is merely the distance from the center of the hole in the door which is backset from the edge of the door. After removing the old keyed lockset, the installation of this “Baldwin” set was easily accomplished. First slide in the new latch assembly into the 1 inch hole in door and screw in place with the two existing screws. Place the outside lever assembly into the now existing latch assembly. You will have two choices to slide in the assembly due to the backset or hole position in the door. The correct choice will be obvious as you will want the lever assembly to cover the hole in the door. Now slide in the other or inside lever assembly into place and use two provided screws to tighten the whole lever assembly in place. The last piece is to replace the strike plate in the opposing jamb and position in place with the two provided screws. Another hint in placement of the strike plate for added security, be sure the sliding pin or security pin stops at strike plate while the rest of the latch continues to go into jamb past the strike plate. This stops someone from jamming in a thin jimmy or piece of metal to get the latch to release without use of a key. The last great feature of this lockset is that it incorporates "Smart Key" technology. By following the easy inclosed intructions, you can "Re-Key" the lockset, which enables you to lock and unlock this door with a key used from another keyed entry door, so you can use one key to now open both doors! No need of a locksmith to rey-key your doors to have one key to open more than one door. The only caveat is that the key used from the other door is compatible with your new Baldwin door lock. The Baldwin Torrey Satin Nickel Low Profile Keyed Entry Door lever is easy to install. At first, the latch wouldn't catch in the strike plate, which meant the door wouldn't stay closed if the deadbolt wasn't locked; after doing the lipstick test to determine the location of the strike plate, I lowered the strike plate just a little bit for the latch to engage and for the door to remain closed without any lock. Lastly, the rekey was easy to perform as well - no lost springs and pins.

The first thing I noticed about the TORREY VENETIAN BRONZE LOW PROFILE KEYED ENTRY DOOR LEVER FEATURING SMARTKEY was the weight. This is heavy duty quality. It was packaged very nicely.The instructions were excellent. The Kwikset website has any information you need to install it. You can download the template there. The inside locking mechanism is very smooth to operate. I plan to refinish the door this fall so the pictures don't do it justice.

This model Torrey keyed entry door lock is made under Baldwin. They are well recognized in the market as high quality products. Having received the sample test. Packing is well fit for each part and well organized. Holding the handle already feel is real solid made die cast alloy body with very detail finishing and clear coating work. The lock is solid and move very firmly. no loosing feel. When assembly together, I can feel they well fit each other without any big gap or loose. Its comes with Baldwin special design Smart lock which you can compatible with other Baldwin door lock for same key. Just like most people say, something for something. You pay what you get. For me If within your affordable budget, I'm sure you won;t be wrong to get it home.

I really like this exterior door lever. Looks great, built well, and makes a statement. What I like: • Very elegant and modern looking. It also feels rock solid. We’ve already received some compliments from guests. • The mechanism work perfectly. Nice and smooth. Does not catch/stick anywhere. • Install is pretty easy. It will take about 20 minutes if you are moving slowly. Instructions are easy to follow and come included in the box. • Everything you need for the install is included in the box. Just have your own screwdriver ready to go. • It has a ‘smart key’. I got a dead bolt separately for the same door and I was able to rekey the deadbolt so I could use this key on both locks. Very nice and easy to do. • Lifetime warranty on the finish and mechanical. • Considering the high quality and appearance of this handle I feel that the price is excellent. • So far, the handles are still in perfect condition. We all know that rings on fingers can quickly ruin the finish of levers/handles. I’m a couple of weeks in and it is holding up and still looks brand new. What I don’t like: • Nothing, absolutely nothing. I’m a huge fan of this door lever as you can tell from the review. It’s really nice and I could not recommend this more.

Torrey Satin Nickel Low Profile Keyed Entry Door Lever Featuring SmartKey Through my own experience over the years I have learned to trust the Baldwin name, and this beautiful Torrey Entry Door Lever reinforces that impression! My husband easily installed this nickel lever on our side door, and the improved look is undeniable. But the tactile improvement is also wonderful. The handle fits nicely in my hand, and I can feel the smooth mechanism as it turns. It is a feeling you only get from expensive solid door hardware. This door lever is so worth it.

This lockset from Baldwin (part of the Kwikset family) just screams quality and style. I paired the handleset with the deadbolt in Venetian Bronze finish to make a bold statement to my front entry door. Installation was very straight forward and access to the screw heads, that is sometimes a pain, was excellent. The instructions were very clear. The strike plate for the deadbolt included extra heavy-duty screws to help prevent the door from being kicked in. The best feature of this lock is "Smartkey Security" meaning you can easily re-key this lock to match an existing lock that uses a KW1 key (most Kwikset and many others). In less than a minute after reading the instructions, you can key this lock to match an existing key. The bronze finish is gorgeous and the lever-style handle on the Torrey handleset eliminates fumbling with a knob when your arms are full of groceries. This is an excellent value when compared to high-end locks with similar appearance. INSTALL TIP: Since the deadbolt and handle set have rectangular escutcheons, getting them plumb and in the same plane is necessary for a professional presentation. Use a small level and/or a straight edge to align the locks before tightening the screws.

Best entry lever ever -- 6 stars. The handle and lock set look so modern it's a huge upgrade. I also feel safer as this lock was substantial (no more opening the door with a credit card). The handle turns very solidly and looks great too. Installation was quick and easy probably 5 minutes maximum including misplacing my drill battery. I used the key from this and the smart key feature on my deadbolt and that worked very easily also. I walked in and out like 50 times and I love this handle.

Baldwin has always had a great reputation for manufacturing well made locks. My entry door lock set is a Baldwin product and after 20 years of service looks as great as the day it was bought and has performed flawlessly. I paired this stylish keyed Venetian bronze entry lever lock with a Baldwin Venetian bronze deadbolt lock. Both locks look great and I replaced the locks on a pool access door with them. They were a tad more difficult to install than I'm used to but were still very simple. Directions are easy to follow. I like the fact that they fit all common door thicknesses from 1 3/8 inch to 1 3/4. They also have a latch adjustment for 2 3/8 or 2 3/4 inch. They locks come with extra long screws to fasten everything securely in place. Another nice feature is that you can easily rekey the lock yourself with a specially provided tool and easy to follow directions. In less than 5 minutes I rekeyed the dead bolt and other entry lock to use the same key. The pool chemicals are hard on lock finishes and I am hoping the Venetian bronze finish will hold up much better than traditional polished brass finishes. I know that I will get a more secure locking system than my old locks provided.

Looks good and easy to install. The only issue I had was the interior door handle was difficult to secure to the handle to the main body for it screw counterclockwise and I have a invisible blind restriction!

Nice finish and very smooth

Home Depot is great and the Baldwin set is good. I bought both front entry and back door entry sets. My only complaint is a pretty thin and small strike plate in the front door handset. I had the handyman leave it the strike plate from the Kwickset he was replacing because it was much heavier grade metal and a larger plate.
