It was too heavy and was uncomfortable to use

i purchased the Blue Max because of the reviews, the supposed testing, and the price. I used the brush cutter for 15 minutes. The engine blew. It started to smoke. I used 40:1 like recommended. The mix was not off because it was Tru-Fuel. I returned it to Home Depot and got my money back.

Handle bar is very awkward to use and fatigues your arms. Bottom guard is too big and inhibits close cuts and lateral movement. Is not as heavy duty and powerful as the Honda 35cc it was to replace. I ended up returning it.

The trimmer has rods inside instead of cables ...it great on grass ,even heavy grass not so much on woody brush ......it’s somewhat heavy because the engine is close to my first motor scooter ...close to 50 cc engine runs well and cranks easily ....

Great product, just not too comfortable to hold with awkward handle, and it seems to be made for a skinny person, I am a big 300lb man and cant seem to get comfortable with the grip, but the start restart is great and super easy. Brush cutter blade needs to be sharper, to cut thru tall grass easier...

Have used it once for one full tank of gas. Used the brush cutting blade. Good power. Starts easy. Assembly instructions are good. Not difficult to assemble or understand. Harness was not uncomfortable as some others have stated. Did purchase extra carbide tipped brush cutting blades. Haven't used them yet. Machine is a little heavy and will need some getting used to. But not unlike other similar machines I have used. The gas trigger became a bit tiring, but maybe that was just me.

I use this machine for bush clearing mtn bike trails. Its has a lot of power and is very robust, I have upgraded the bush cutting blade to a 40tooth disc which is way stronger than the provided 3 blade disc . This machine easily chops through most undergrowth and upto 1 - 11/2 inch branches if you go steady with it. Always starts and runs strong and is easy to maintain. For the price and the speed I am able to clear trail this machine has proven its worth 10 times over.

Well constructed and powerful. Very heavy around the neck with the included strap. I bought an after market harness that takes the weight off the neck which cost only $10. I think the strap included with this thing is too hard on anyone's neck and should be changed.

As some said earlier, its a beast! I use it as a brush cutter (with a circular blade instead of the one supplied) and it cuts small trees, growth and brush on our farm, with a lot of power. It's got a lot of torque and with a 42cc engine, it's similar to a chainsaw. At first, had to adjust the handle to fit me and to use the strap. It's 20 lbs so a strap is necessary. Others talk about the strap and it's not much but it doesn't get in my way either (when cutting on slope/elevation). One thing I would say is I don't suggest it as a trimmer. First, it's heavier than the usual and for extended periods, go with something lighter. Also, the guard is bulky and makes it difficult to come close to the ground. This is especially a problem with trimming but not great for brushing either. What I would say, if you're looking for an economical, reliable and rugged brush cutter, give it a try. My expectations were lower because of the price, so I'm more than pleased with it. It's stout!

Great price and works great...A little uncomfortable at first but other then that great buy.

This thing is a beast. I live in the country and there is nothing around the house I can't cut with it. It's a little heavy when doing alot of ditch trimming,but it's all good.

This weed cutter way out preformed what it was described as being able to do. Low vibration makes it easy to use for long periods without fatigue. Long runtime on a tank of fuel lasted about twice as long as I had expected.

Although I have assembled several trimmers in the past, the BlueMax was a minor challenge. It felt sturdy altho a little heavy. I partially filled with recommended 40:1 mixture, carefully followed starting instructions ... and nothing. Gave up after an hour of pulling. Returned to HD for refund.

I had a stil for many years I tried this one and guess what I can't feel any difference except the price, great price by the way

The weed trimmer was fairly easy to assemble. It is a cutting monster! Now my only concern is locating a replacement head for the string. I like to keep a spare and not having any luck finding someone who stocks it. Can you provide me with a source? Thank you
