Having already worn out a 2.5 amp Bosch omt, I opted for the 5.5 amp having learned how useful these things are. I needed the 5.5 so that I would be able to use the long blades occasionally. This tool is smooth and powerful and makes cuts rapidly. The star lock system is a vast improvement as well.

Its a flawless tool ...no issues at all ...i had dremels rockwells ridgid fein ...cant compare to this bosch

I bought this tool to undercut door jambs . I am a flooring installer so it’s used regularly & didn’t hold up to my expectations. I had it repaired under warranty only to get it back partially repaired So disappointed.

Works like a champ. Cuts polyurethane caulking around windows like soft butter.

Great tool. Proprietary blades but well worth the investment. Your Dremel style blafes do not work on it.

We expect the Bosch 5.5 amp StarlockMax to outlast the current project and many more. Durability and variable speed were two of many factors considered for this purchase. A hardwood floor restoration, with many tight inside corners and distressed areas, provides an adequate proving ground for this type of tool. Pricing was competitive and delivery was prompt. We would like to see the StarlockMax accessories available in local Home Depot stores. Online purchase is currently the only option. We recommend the Bosch as a viable alternative to Fein and similar quality oscillating multi-tools due in part to local factory service if required.

Using it for wall demo of sheetrock, wood framing, and tile on floors. Has variable speed, and AC power never runs out, with a nice long 13ft cord too!

Oscillating tools have been around awhile and though I often thought one would be nice to have I just really couldn't envision it being all that usefull for me. In the process of major batroom remodel and I wanted to modify some of the existing built-in cabinetry with a minimum of alteration and my labor. Picked up the Bosch 5.5 amp StarlockMax and a variety of flush cut blades and as far as I'm concerned this insanely useful tool was worth the entire purchase price on just this project alone. Straight flush cuts allowed me to do the job much quicker than I had planned on and the precision and dexterity of the tool allowed me to utilize the max amount of existing cabinet structure in making the required modifications. The bi-metal blades chewed thru the wood, nails and small metal fasteners with ease, and with me trying to maneuver in very uncomfortable tight space ... I was thankful for every second of time it saved me versus using any other tool(s) that I have in my home shop. It served as a formidable sander as well when finishing off the cuts. It's not a tool I see myself using frequently but it definitely will be the right tool for the job when the time comes.

I have had this tool for 3 months now and I like it a lot better then then my old bosch OIS tool. This new starlock the blade snaps into place with no lever or tool and to release the blade the lever is gentle and you don't have to watch your fingers like you had to on the OIS. Also this tool has higher amps then the last one as well. Great tool design! Top Notch!
