Good Morning. Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our product. I am sorry this flooring was not what you were expecting based on the photos online. Differences between the pictures on our website and the actual product could vary due to variations in computer color displays and monitor settings. It is always advisable to obtain a sample of the flooring before purchasing in order to have a more accurate representation of what the floor will look like. I do apologize for and inconvenience. Have a great day. Armstrong

The milling quality of this product was horrible. I had to return many boxes of warped and uneven boards. I recommend you purchase LOTS of extra boxes to get a quality product. Once installed, the floor looks great. Do not expect the planks to be perfectly flush....it is more of a rustic look.

Choice was perfect for kitchen, hall, closets, bathroom and pantry. Like the look, the finish, and the choice of size. Have many friends checking out Home Depot after they have seen the final product. This has been installed for two weeks. It meets all expectations.

Great Flooring
I am extremly pleased with the quality of the hardwood floor. The color is exactly what I wanted. Remember everyone, this is a real wood product and with a natural product you can expect some variances in color and width. Could the Bruce milling shop tighten the tolorances a bit? Yes, but overall an excellent product. Much better than the fake stuff any day!

Put down 30 boxes of 3 1/4 inch floors. Took 2 weeks and turned out looking good. Have them down for a month now and no scratches. Only complaint is the inconsistencies of the lengths of the floors. One box will have nothing but short lengths and another will have long lenths. Overall my wife loves the floors.

I just finished installing 240 square feet of this and it looks awesome. My wife and I absolutely love it. This was my first time installing real hardwood, i have done a lot of laminate flooring, but this was easy. The only downside was the defective pieces, but i was able to put them in other areas where they were less noticeable, they say to get 10% more for cutting, but i had very little waste.

Boards were of different lengths and many fit perfectly into a row, so we only cut off three boards! The finish was good and the tongues and grooves were good on all but three of them. Ended up looking very nice when finished. We are very happy with how it turned out.

I also had many quality issues with their product. Had well over 20% defects in the product delivered, (project involved over 50 boxes /1100 sqft). Product tongues improperly milled or missing, grooves damaged or broken, many surface nicks, gouges, scratches, dings / chips or significant cracks in the wood, end cuts not square and the wood was not always the same width, let alone the board warpage that was excessive or not usable. Had to cherry pick through the boxes and inspect every board in order to finish the project. Got so frustrated, that I even contacted Bruce directly to complain about their quality asking for a call back but that fell on deaf ears. While the finished flooring does look good, I should not have had this many issues with their flooring product. I'm not going to recommend their products, as their final quality needs significant improvements. Will be returning all the boxes of defects back to the store.

      Absolute Garbage
Ordered 8 boxes of 2.5" and 16 boxes of 3.5". Returning all 24 boxes. Tongues are damaged, none of the boards are uniform in length. Went through all the boxes I ordered. More than 1/2 the wood is unusable. Huge waste of time. See photo of incomplete tongues and wood failing to lineup because they are not uniform in width.

        Great Product, love the color
I bought 10 boxes to cover 200 sq ft. and ended up with about half a box left. There were very few damaged boards and I used those to finish rows off. The color is perfect and the boards fit together very well. My recommendation to any DIY'er is to buy a floor nailer when installing your hardwood floors, completely worth it.

        Gorgeous color!!!!
I had the gorgeous Ginger Snap white oak hardwood flooring installed in an upstairs bedroom a couple weeks ago. I am thrilled with the color and the quality of the wood. I am so happy with how it turned out that I am going to have almost the whole house done with the Ginger Snap hardwood. I would definitely recommend this product. You will be very pleased!!!!

        Coastal Gray Hardwood Floor
Great floor. We love it. It requires the floor to be prepared and then nailed and stapled. It takes more work than a snap and click floor. But we prefer the 3/4 hardwood without the extra work of staining and varnishing. Really like the product. Wish there was a few more longer boards. I understand it is random selection of boards.

the whole family is happy :)
Hi, I went in the the Windsor Home depot and was told I could not get the 2 1/4 in Canada so I bought 12 boxes in Michigan at a Home Depot there. it was about $350 extra than if I could have got it in Windsor. After buying the 12, I went back and spoke to a different support person, was told I could get it in Windsor, so I bought another 12. It was a bit frustrating and of course, cost me more when I was first told I could not get it in Canada at 2 1/4. I am just waiting for the delivery that was first promised the week of February 29. Soon it will come I hope.

This pre finished hardwood flooring is an excellent product. It installed very well with a pneumatic floor stapler. Much better quality than I was expecting. Definitely worth the price.

        Quality REAL wood flooring
We used this as a transition strip between our original oak hardwood floors and our newly installed oak hardwood floors. We couldn't match our originals 100% so we wanted something to give a purposeful separation between the new and the old. Plus we ran the new hardwood floors the same direction as the old and the idea of feathering in the new floors gave me nightmares. This was a simple and easy solution. The only downside is that I had to buy a whole box for the 5 square feet I needed, but that cost was acceptable to us. Great floors. Would recommend.

Disappointed in the number of damaged/warped boards per box.
While the finished project looks great, the number of warped and damaged boards per box was simply unacceptable. We purchased several boxes (7) to replace laminate flooring previously installed in my home office. The flooring was purchased late last year with a spring-summer install planned. The boxes of flooring were stored inside my home in a corner of my dining room. The flooring was a close-out and not returnable so maybe this was the reason why. I did note that one other reviewer mentioned the warped boards, but we had a lot. Every single box had at least 2-3 boards that could not be installed the full length. As we got nearer the end of the install, the sixth box had almost every longer length board warped. I had Bruce flooring installed before and do not recall an issue. Based on this, the ease of installation, quality and value are rated very low for this product. I am unable to recommend this product.

A Really Beautiful Floor Despite a Couple of Small Quality Control Issues
Our maple hardwood floor came out great. We had to watch carefully as we installed because a few of the planks were just not cut square on the ends. There was a surprising amount of variation in the width as well, considering that we understood this to be a top-quality product. There were also a few handling scars from where someone in the factory apparently just got careless. But, a handful of bum boards in over 400 square feet of flooring isn't that bad, and most of the time we could trim the end and then use that board at one end of a row. Only a very few were worthless. The stain and clear finish were consistently well-done. Board thickness was consistent, as were the tongue and groove interfaces. We followed instructions for sub-floor preparation and installation and came out with a beautiful squeak-free final product. We had ordered one box more than the calculated minimum to cover our floor, so we didn't worry about setting aside the shortest boards or any that had questionable spots.

        Worst floor ever. Manufacture Defects
Pieces were milled improperly width wise. So I had to sort through each box to find the best fit. Pieces had dings and dents on them coming right out of the box. Approximately 40 pieces were missing the tongues. Yes the floor looks great but one horrible floor to install. I really should of just returned the entire floor but I had 25% of it complete and then the disaster started. The manufactures quality control staff must be on vacation.

        Nice wood floor
This product was as easy to install as solid wood floors can be as there was very few flaws in the wood and almost all of the lengths were extremely straight. There was a variety of lengths and most were long pieces 4 to 6 ft in length. I had very little waste as it seemed there was just the right amount of short pieces per box. When the install was finished it looked very elegant with the white wash color and was exactly what I was looking for.

        Poorly Milled
I installed around 1,100 square feet of this flooring into our dining room, living room, kitchen, a sitting area, two halls, and two bedrooms. We wanted a wood floor that was dark, but not too dark as very dark floors, as per numerous reviews, are very hard to keep looking clean. We came across this on an end-cap at Home Depot. We liked that the tone is a bit more “cool” than warm (or reddish). The color of this is Brown Earth or Saddle (it goes under both names). I will say that now that it is complete, the finished floor looks very nice, and I get a lot of compliments on it; however….there are two big issues with this product: 1. It fairly easily scratches and dents. Our dog was scratching the floor badly. My wife (bless her) found a product (Soft Paws) where she glues these rubbery covers on her nails, and they work well. With that said, this floor scratches easily with all kinds of stuff. Perhaps in the long run it’ll just look acceptable and weathered/worn. This to be determined. Maybe this is just the deal with hardwood floor. I will say I’m disappointed that the coating isn’t more scratch-resistant (not just the wood). 2. This is the big one. This floor is very, very, very poorly milled. The tongues and grooves are not tight or consistent. The quality control is just flat embarrassing. So our finished floor has a number (a couple of dozen) of very bad creaks and squeaks in the floor… Take a look at the picture below. These are the “cast off” pieces for just a single 12 ft x 11 ft bedroom. Even tossing out this many pieces of poorly milled/inspected pieces, I still have 2 bad creaks/squeaks in that room. It’s a joke. I find it very disappointing. Frankly I’m at a loss as to how to fix all these creaks and squeaks. These are NOT subfloor related. These are situations where a single board has a creak. Some people will blame this on me and on my installation. I really have to dispute this. I’m an experienced woodworker of 15 years. I’ve redone a kitchen, done plumbing, electric, drywall, put in tiled floors, laminate floors…all without issue. If you look at my floor, the direction is straight as an arrow. Down a 35-foot hall...dead on. 15 feet to one wall….parallel to wall. 25 feet out to other wall…parallel within ¼”. I put in integrated floor grates (see picture) that I stained and polyed myself. The base and shoe are cut, caulked, and painted very nicely. As part of this flooring, I for all intents and purposes I did over 50% of a kitchen remodel as all base cabinets and electric and plumbing and gas and cabinets were taken out and put back. All of my transitions look great….to carpet, to tile, around two fireplaces, to a stairway. In other words, I have very good DIY and woodworking skills. I just don’t buy that this is my fault. I can’t imagine this not happening even had I paid to have it installed. So, what was my alternative here? Did I inspect each piece before laying it? Yes I did. This flooring is poorly milled. Period. This is NOT due to the normal cupping, bending, and movement of wood. I get that. Those things cannot by avoided. This is something different. Just sloppy tongues and/or grooves. The killer is there’s really no way to always know this unless you go over every single piece with a caliper? What is that? What kind of product do you have to verify so closely because the quality is so poor and the size varies so much? Anyhow, I’m very disappointed. Would I buy this floor again? NO. I would not. I wish I would of gone with something engineered and more consistent. I guess the question now is, can I salvage this? Can I fix the creaks and squeaks without making it worse? I hope this was helpful. If you do install this floor, I would be very, very, very careful to make certain to inspect all pieces to probably a ridiculous level.

What an incredible value and VERY nice looking floor from Bruce!
I rarely spend the time to write a review of products I own but in this case this product really deserves great praise. I had a section of carpeted floor that I wanted to replace with hardwood. I visited by local The Home Depot and found this product sitting on an endcap. I was not able to find a sample nor was the product even featured but the box was torn open so I pulled a piece out. The wood looked very nice and the color looked close to my existing hardwood floor. The saleman allowed me to take a small piece from the box to try out at home. At home I confirmed the color was a very close match to what my builder hand stained 10+ years ago. I returned to the store and purchased 3 cases enough to cover the foyer area with some planned waste. Enough of my story, here are my observations. 1) Opening the cases I was surprised to find so many nice looking pieces of wood. I recall when my builder installed the original floor he used words like "select: to describe a grade which was less notty and more appealing. If my existing floor was "select" then this a grade or two above as so many pieces had such nice patterns and there was only a board or two that were not perfect. 2) The finish on these board was very nice. The manufacturer offers a lifetime finish warantee. I'm not sure what this means and/or how I'd actually take advantage of such as warantee by the finish is very shiny, smooth and clear. Compared to my original floor, this floor looks amazing. Hopefully I'll be saying the same thing in 10 years! 3) The tongue and grooves fit together very well. I suppose that's the standard there days with any hardwood manufacturer but there was very few warped boards and any warpage pulled together nicely when hammered. 4) The floor looks amazing. I did this installation myself. It was my first hardwood installation and I was a bit nervous when I started laying down boards but after the first few boards went in I really got the hang of it. If you're handy, I'd certainly recommend a self-installation to save yourself alot of money for someone else's labor. 5) The floor looks amazing. I know I just said that but as I look over at it thinking what else to write to help you make an informed decision I just can't help but be amazed at how nice this floor looks. I highly recommend it and for the price of $3.89 sq (as of 1/13/14), it's an amazing value!

        Can't get the product
This review is not about the product, its about Home Depot's TERRIBLE service! Ordered this product for my son's house. Only had 22 boxes of the 30 needed, we'll make it work I thought. Product doesn't show up. The free delivery? good luck! Shipper couldn't get it to us so they handed it off to a different shipper who doesn't deliver to Minnesota so that shipper ships it back to HD. Then HD ships it to another customer, (even though I didn't return the product) so now we don't know when we will get it. People lined up to install next week, but we don't know when we will have the wood. What a joke. I will NEVER buy from HD again!!!! This corporation is a joke! Oh, we were told that we can always get a refund. HD is pathetic!!!
