It's light and very sturdy. I haven't had it long enough to evaluate its' durability, but I love it so far.

This is one of the better deals for a good shovel you can find. I have been using various shovels for 6 decades and I find this one has everything going for it. Just thick enough gauge metal to prevent flex but not be overly heavy. Engineered to be strong at the business end while having a durable fiberglass shaft that has a good length for leverage, plus a comfortable non-slip end grip. The blade has a broad step to be easy on the arch of your foot. This takes much of the misery out of a "misery stick"! Made in the USA and recommended!

Compared to my sharpened fiberglass handled Husky Super Socket shovel in a head to head the Husky with fiberglass handle outperformed the Bully. Longer handle better leverage and sharper blade all contributed to this. Made digging holes for planting 25 gallon palm trees. The extra weight of the Husky and larger foot plate really bite into the ground and it scoops out the dirt well. The Husky is a great shovel! HD doesn't sell anymore. I bought the Bully as a backup because helpers keep borrowing my Husky when on the job. The Bully is no slouch and I will use for appropriate jobs especially planting around irrigation where a dull blade can be your friend etc... I read somewhere that a courtesy grind was given to the bully shovel but my blade edge is obtuse. After awhile I might sharpen it but for now I will use it for easy dirt. Excellent construction overall and made in USA I purchased as a backup since people keep borrowing my husky on the job. I am giving 5 stars for being made in USA and overall construction and quality is very good.

I absolutely love this shovel! Lighter than other shovels because of the fiberglass handle, it is still sturdy and the thicker blade is much stronger than those on other shovels. So far I have used this shovel to dig holes in ground riddled with rocks, chop through a thick root and even cut through compacted snow and ice after a blizzard this past winter. The handle absorbs shocks much better than wooden handles do too!

It is a shovel. I didn't expect to be impressed. But I needed a new point shovel. This shovel looks a little different. It is welded and using heavy gauge steel. The design had me confused at first. At the point, it is curved and transitions to a V at the top. This is so the folded over foot edge can be a flat fold. This does two things. First, it allows a wide and thick foot surface. This is much easier on the ball of your foot after a lot of digging. Second, the C to V shape transition helps break up the dirt. It pushed the dirt off the shovel, instead of letting it stick to it. This is a good shovel. I moved around 2 cubic yards of dirt with it and I'm impressed.

This is a really well put together shovel. The neck has some serious enginerring in it: which is great because the neck (where the head and shaft meet) always seems to be the failure point. It's longer than usual, which gives it some extra strength when you're trying to pry a rock out of ground. It's also fully enclosed and welded shut around the shaft... much better than the usual method of rnning a small pin or screw between the neck and shaft. The head is thicker than usual and feels more like an alloy than plain-jane steel. It's much stronger than shovels I have used in the past and has held up to a couple glancing blows that might have bent my old shovel. The foot pegs are much wider than my old shovel which gives you a great place to stomp your boot down. However, I dinged this a star because those foot pegs angle in at an incredibly sharp angle which causes your foot to slide inwards and bang into the neck. After planting three bushes the inside curve of my foot started to really hurt. The shaft is fiberglass which has a natural tendency to bow under stress. It's a little strange to get used to at first but it's supposed to do that... just takes some getting used to. All around a great shovel for odds and ends... and much stronger than usual. Invest in some good padded boots though, the inside edge of your foot's going to be killing you the next day.

After going thru many round nosed shoves over the years. I've had wood handles rot over the years & fiberglass handles break due to poor designs. I believe that now has come to an end with this shovel. This is the strongest, sturdiest & best made shovel I've ever had. I'm am looking forward to using it on a continuous basis for all my digging needs. I've already been able to put it to use for many projects so far. I like how they have improved upon the shovels design in all the various areas that matter.

This is another excellent product from Bully Tools, Inc. that is built to outlast you and your grandchildren. The shovel's round point blade and handle appear to be exceptionally well-constructed and heavy-duty. I have only used it a few times in my garden and flower beds and have found no issues with it. The only suggestion I have is Bully Tools should give some consideration to placing a small hole at the end of the handle or a small metal loop that would facilitate hanging the tool up when not in use. Well done Bully Tools!

This shovel has a very robust metal head, and a very nice, strong reinforced weld where it meets the handle. The point is quite sharp, and makes short work of breaking up hard earth or cutting through smaller roots as you dig. I unfortunately first had to put this to use while burying my recently deceased cat. Not really a fun job under any circumstances, digging a deep hole in the corner of the yard at night, but this shovel helped make short work of it. Only drawback is the fiberglass handle--it's got more flex to it than I would like. I think I'd still prefer an old fashioned handle of ash or hickory.

This is the best shovel ever. It's made in the U.S..high quality. Made my job of repositioning and replanting so much easier. It was a pleasure to use. The fiberglass handle is smooth and leaves no splinters. It's just the right weight and size. It shipped so quickly. As soon as I received it I started my yard work and found it so easy and comfortable .
