I did not use this shade for a window. I installed this on a structural beam that was between the living room and a little side "nook" at my lake house. In the summertime, I need multiple sleeping areas for visitors and privacy is a shortage at my little 800 sq ft cottage! I bought a futon sofa a year ago and needed something to separate it from the living space when someone was sleeping over. This roller shade was perfect for what I needed!!!! It took less than 15 minutes to install this shade using the included brackets & anchors. It was super easy to pop the shade into the brackets! The only thing I would have appreciated, is having the valance "apron" extended to the ends of the valance. It just looks a little unfinished, but is still really nice. The price for these roller shades is really good and I'm sure I will be buying more for other locations. You can just lift the shade rather than having unsightly cords hanging down which was another reason I liked this shade. It just "tucks discretely away" and you would never know it was there! Comes in a few different sizes for your needs. Nice fabric. Mountain snow is a soft white and looks great. (see pics)

So close to a great product. The installation was fairly easy. The roller works great. The only problem is that this is not really a valence. The sides are bare white plastic. A true valence would hide the entire roller mechanism. The unit looks really dreadful. The white plastic sides with two screws exposed. This is for my home office so, I am not sure that I will keep it. Why in the heck would they have left the sides bare?

Difficult to roll up or down straight

The shades are exactly what I wanted and we are very happy with them.

The first one I ordered had a small hole in the shade. I decided to try ordering again and the second one had no tension. For the third time, I'm trying a different style of shade and not buying this brand.

My cat destroyed all of the blinds in my house, so I needed something pet-friendly (cordless) that was aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. These look very clean and they're super easy to install. I did the top mount method and it took me about 3 minutes per shade. One thing that Chicology could explain better in the mounting was the pilot holes needed. The mounting screws are #6 size and I drilled directly into a softer wood, so I used a 3/32" pilot hole (didn't use the anchors provided). Only reason I knocked off a star is they're not super easy to roll back up. They work but I wish it was a biiiiiit more effortless. Anyway, great purchase for the price- happy with the product!

This was not easy to install. I have bought other Chicology products and they were much easier to install. This did not click in easily. Some of the blinds I bought will barely stay down. If you slightly touch it, it starts going back up.

Good at blocking light but cheap looking. We will be returning.

The shades look great and are good quality. Only 3 stars because of the 12, several do not roll back up easily. Sometimes I have to manually roll them back up. Otherwise I do like them

This was slightly bigger than our window, so we had to install it outside the window frame. Had this been installed inside the window frame, this would have been great: it provides great light blocking (and apparently thermal blocking as well). And the valance would have been perfectly fine if it fit inside the window frame. However, as other reviewers have mentioned, the sides of the valance aren't covered, and so when it is hung outside the window frame, you see the ugly sides of the roller shade. If you're expecting to hang this outside the window frame, look for something else.

This was an easy to install shade. I was hoping it would let in a lot of light, even though it's almond. I was not disappointed! There is light that goes through the shade and gives the room a soft glow. It woks well and does not jerk out of my hand when lowering. Looks great and performs well. I would call this a product that I will use again for window treatments.

It took me a while to decide on a shade for the bathroom, we always had mini blinds in there, but the shade from Home Depot was a very nice upgrade from the mini blinds! It's quite solid and well made! I think this will be the ideal window shade for a damp environment like the bath. Such an improvement over what used to be standard shades. Nothing papery to rip or discolor, and the attachment to the wall is very secure! This shade will be fine for our use for a long time.

Ordered the Mountain chocolate free-stop cordless room darkening shade to darken a bedroom. When it did arrive I installed it in the bedroom, after it was installed and I lowered the shade to its lowest level it came up short, it was 64 inches instead of 72 inches, so I took it down and was about ready to call the company to have the correct one shipped when my neighbor came over and she wanted to buy it off me, she had a perfect place for it. I ended up giving it to her and installing for her, looks great. I liked it too and will see about getting one for my bedroom after the holidays.
