Customer Reviews for DANCO 9-3/4 in. x 4 in. Steel Floor Register with 7/8 in. Drop in White

A good product and an exceptional value. They are now a strategic part of my annual clean up fix up spring project. I have dozens of these registers in my house. Many of which I have painted several times. If they are in a high traffic area the finish wares off after a few years. I am no longer going to try to refurbish them. At this price, it is better to replace them with a new one. It costs $5.98 plus tax for a can of paint plus something for cleaning supplies and whatever value you place on your time.. Plus, you can’t make them look as good as new. Why would you even try. Please note in the picture below which shows the old one that I removed setting beside its new replacement. I think you would agree that it is quite an improvement. I do have one suggestion and that is the manufacture should discontinue putting screw holes in the face plate or at least replace them with knockouts. No one ever screws them down. That would needless complicate my biannual replacement task.

The register looks great and it feels great since it is made of Steel, This white register went to my bathroom but looks good on either wood floors or white tiles, it has been stepped on and still functions well. the airflow is great and when its closed it is minimum air coming thru. it can direct the air easy by opening the air half way or all the way. it sends the air up or on an angle or simply closes the whole thing. I like it. best of all it was easy to replace.

Cheaply built and the vent opening mechanism won't stay in one position. Look elsewhere.

The vents were ok the way they were packaged i had to fix 2 of them and hook the vent arm back on as 1 had fallen all the way off and they were supposed to be here 1 day and i had to call the day before to even find out where they were and then they were 2 days late think it would of been better to buy them at the store

Purchased because product can be screwed in place. Installed a month ago. Works as expected.

Looks good. Fits well. Problem is you cannot shut vent the way intended. You must remove it, tape shut, and replace it. To open, you need to reverse procedure.

3 of the 4 vents didn’t work properly so I didn’t even bother opening the 4th one. If I got it open I couldn’t adjust it. On I couldn’t get open at all.

This register is too small, it will not cover the screw holes from the old register if you are just replacing one. Maybe by the everbilt mobile home register that is a regular stocking item in home depot, it only comes in Brown

I ordered this because I needed an oversized flange to cover a spot that was cut too large in the tile. The outer dimensions listed this at 12-1/4, which would have covered what I needed outside the vent hole. But instead, it is a little over 11-that same as the one I wanted to replace. Very disappointed in this faulty info. Otherwise, it seems to be a good vent.

One of the slots inside that you can adjust to direct the airflow fell off and won't stay on. Think a hole punched piece of paper that has been ripped out so now the hole has a hole
