Poor quality, deceptive description, not split-type ring
Pull on the ring and it comes off because it does not go through the rubber stopper. The ring is pinched on. It is not a split-type ring as described. Made to look good in the picture not to function properly.

I bought this for use in a laundry room sink. I placed in in the drain firmly enough to where to the fit was snug. To test, I put a little bit of water in the sink. After a couple hours, I came back, and the water had drained out. This time, I pushed it down more firmly, then put some more water in and left it overnight. The next day, the water was still there. HOWEVER.... when I pulled on the little metal ring, it easily came right through the rubber, leaving the drain plug in place. (Had to pull out the plug with pliers.)
The moral of this story is that the plug seems to work great only if it's very firmly seated. Good luck pulling it out by hand without the ring coming through the rubber. Still, It's not like I use it a lot, so having to pull it out with pliers is not a dealbreaker, which is why I would recommend it, especially since I can't seem to find a better option.

This is a pretty simple item, your standard drain stopper. It feels well made, very tough rubber. I used it in my bathtub since the regular drain stopper leaks. It fit very well and I was able to easily insert it in the drain for a snug fit. I don't think any water got through and it was easy to pull up on the metal ring to pop it out when I was done.

a simple rubber stopper, suitable for all kinds of situations. I use it in my laundry tub. Fits perfectly, makes a nice seal. The packaging says it's stain resistant. Too early for me to tell. If not, I'll buy another. The only drawback is I wish it came with a chain. It's always good to have a spare stopper for other sinks where the center mechanical stopper breaks. This is just a simple general purpose stopper. Works great.

Just your everyday rubber stopper that has been around since water was needed to stand in sinks. It is 1 5/8 inches with a silver jump ring on the top so a chain can be added. I am using it in a garage sink where I wash vegetables. It fits snuggly and holds the water, if need be, overnight. I do wish it came with a chain because now I'll need to hunt down a connecting chain as not to lose it. Overall, I would purchase again.
The metal ring came off on the first use of pulling it.

Leaks instead of sealing the tub.

Stopper is made from too hard of a rubber compound. It will not stay in place after an even gentle touch on it. Don't bump it with your foot or it can displace enough to start letting water out of the tub.

Metal ring was only clipped on stopper and came off with one simple tug in a half full sink.

The metal ring on this stopper is purely for decoration. When we used the drain stopper and went to pull it out of the filled tub, the ring just came off since it’s just lightly clamped on the stopper. Had to get a screwdriver to pry it out.
