have been looking for a great battery powerful weed eater. This has far passes my expectations. The power is amazing. I would highly recommend thia item .little over priced but a great tool.

There is a MAJOR issue here. I purchased two 20v trimmers at separate times used them for about 30 mins then smoke came out of the motor of both of them. I upgraded to a 60v and the same thing happened more smoke and failure to work. Returned for the 3rd time. I hate to give up but I see a pattern here DEWALT. Thank goodness I have my super easy to use GAS powered ECHO trimmer that is 10 years old without one single issue. Maybe I will just keep my $324.

The trimmer worked well for the first few times I used it. Definitely stronger than the 20v version but after about 10 uses (2 times a month for the growing season) the motor burned up. It started smoking and then it made a clicking sound before it completely stopped working. Wouldn’t buy again even though I really like the idea.

This is my third one this year. They work well than the motor burns out after a very short period of use, like a few hours. Fortunately both Dewalt & Home Depot make it easy to return for a new one.

I bought this weed eater and had it a year and it got hot and fried itself. The problem is the motor is on the head of the weed eater and the vents get clogged with grass. I cleaned mine every time I used it but it couldn't take the amount of grass I had to weed eat. The newer ones have the motor up on the handle. A much better idea.

Easy to assemble. More than enough power to get the job done quickly. Strongly recommend it!!!!

It has more power than I expected. The trigger is very sensative but I caught on fast. I woried about the line being so thin and not lasting but it holds up well.

The trimmer works well and has a good lifetime, but in the week I've owned it, trimmer line has been sucked into the spool three times so that I've had to take it apart rewind the spool and extend the two ends. Maybe there's a way to avoid this but I haven't figured it out yet.

This trimmer is just designed very poorly! The first and most glaring design flaw is the motor is on top of the trimmer head where the most grass/dirt will be introduced into it and burn it up! The manual says to clean the filter screen on top of the motor every time it looks dirty, well that's every time you use it, and that does not keep the dirt from getting into in the first place. When the motor burns up from all the dirt that gets into it, then you'll have a $300 dollar piece of trash to send to a landfill. It has plenty of power and goes right through heavy brush the battery lasts a long time (9ah came with mine) but it's very awkward and heavy to use. The grass guard that comes with it is as close to worthless as you can get for keeping debris off you (why should you have to buy a better guard for a $300 dollar trimmer)? I like the ability to vary the speed but I don't see the need for the button on top that you have to hold down to use the speed control. I haven't used it long enough to have a problem getting the battery on and off like some of the reviews have stated and I have a Dewalt blower that uses the same battery and have not had that problem over the last few years of using it. I had a Homelite gas trimmer that I bought new about 35 years ago that still ran after a couple of pulls that I gave away when I bought this trimmer. I would bet that it will still be running when this trimmer is in a landfill somewhere.

The string spool is a nightmare. It is very difficult to string, and then it never ever feeds no matter how hard or often you tap it while it is running. You cannot even hand feed it when it is off. I have to disasemble the spool and remove the string and put it back on.

Works great, like the two speed setting. Battery holds up well. Great purchase

This weed eater is perfect for me it isn’t to heavy at all. The assembly was easy also .

A great tool for the job !!

Overall it’s pretty good. I’m just a little disappointed that when you run it on the high setting the battery doesn’t last very long.

This thing is bad*#s a little pricey but we’ll worth it. I will never own another gas trimmer.my only complaint is I didn’t buy it soon

The trimmer worked great, well the one time I got to use it. The charger that it comes with is not the right charger to charge the battery it comes with. So now I have a dead battery and need to pay even more for a new charger. I don’t think this is correct. I will be reaching out to Home Depot for clarification.

It’s as powerful as I had hoped it would be! Definitely a great purchase.

Falls just short of gas echo in power- less noise but it does have a wine. Tube/shaft bends and needs to be stronger.

I was using the trimmer and the electic trimmer stop working. It spins and quit working each time the switch on. I would like to know how to get a new trimmer head.

I had this thing for about two weeks and i love it. the only thing i do not like is the guard. I keep getting grass all over me.
