I purchased this light to compliment several of my Bosch 300 lumen 12v lights. This DeWalt task light literally outshines my smaller lights with its 2000 lumens of bright LED light and 3 intensity settings. The light handle has a couple of integrated tripod mounting options on the bottom of it and as I mentioned, has 3 light intensity settings that you can toggle through by briefly pressing the power button. I installed a 5Ahr battery in it and ran the light for a couple of hours with no problems on the highest intensity setting and the battery only lost 1 bar of power. I'd estimate that you will get about 1hr of runtime on the highest intensity setting - per Ahr of battery on a 20v genuine DeWalt battery (depending on the age of your battery). As for the light itself, you can set it on a shelf, in the floor, on a tripod, or hang it up with a bungee cord - whatever you need to light up your area. I really like the versatility and the multiple angles that you can set it on. The light does have a noticeable yellow hue to it as compared to my other LED lights which were more of a purer 'white' colored light. This will be a welcome addition to my DeWalt cordless vacuum and leaf blower - and it's awesome that the same batteries feed all three! I love the universal fit of the batteries to so many tools, which now numbers over 200+. It more than meets my expectations after having used it for a few months now. In closing, I will add for those that are concerned, the light does state that it's made in China. The DeWalt batteries that I have for it state that the cells are made in Malaysia but are assembled in the USA with global materials. Pros: Versatile standing, versatile mounting, can be purchased by itself or with a battery, uses interchangeable DeWalt 20V batteries, has multiple intensity settings to choose from, has fantastic illumination with 2000 lumens, and is built quite ruggedly.

The product seems very robust in great for my daily applications. The great feature of his product is I am able to use my 12 V batteries and my 20 V it’s a win-win any current platform use. Granted by the Dewalt name assures me that I will have many years of future use.

I bought this to use when I was replacing some light fixtures in some room that had no other light source. Since I already had the 20V Dewalt drill and reciprocating saw it was important to me to stick to the battery profiles I'd already invested in. This light did not let me down. I was working in two completely dark 10' x 10' rooms and this really lit it up.

If you are a DeWalt tool user (as I am), this is the work light for you. It uses a wide range of DeWalt 12V Max, 20V Max and 60V Max batteries, so you can use your existing batteries and just buy the tool-only product. As with other DeWalt products that I use, this is well-designed and rugged (it comes with a 3-year warranty.) Its specs say that it is IP54 rated water and dust ingress protection, so I wouldn’t be worried about using it in the midst of construction. This light is replacing my old cord-connected work light for many uses as it gives way more flexibility of use. Not only can it be used in awkward locations, such as under the house, without the need for long extension cords, but it can be mounted in a number of ways. It has a built-in handle that can be rotated to serve as a stand and threaded holes (1/4-20 & 5/8-11) in its handle to be mounted on a pole, tripod or suspended. It has 3 brightness modes, selected by pressing the on/off button. The brightest is rated at 2000 Lumens at 4000K color temperature. Obviously lower brightness levels will result in greater battery charge longevity, which is also a function of the battery model/capacity. Note that DeWalt calls this a “Task Light.” That distinguishes it from their “Jobsite Light” that puts out 7000 Lumens in a 360 degree pattern, making that product competitive with halogen work lights (a 500W halogen light puts out up to 10,000 Lumens.) But LED lights run cool and don’t require a cord. DeWalt doesn’t list a beam angle spec, but my guess is about 150-160 deg. They also don’t spec battery consumption rate. I tested mine with a 5.0AH 20V MAX battery and got a little over 5 hours. Interestingly the light double-blinks periodically when the battery is low, presumably to warn you to change the battery.

I was expecting it to be bright, but wow. I actually made the mistake of unboxing this late in the evening - the kids were asleep, the house was generally dark, and I turned it on and immediately turned it off. It was like the sun just popped out from my hands. My wife called from the other room "What was that!!?" - In all seriousness I am quite impressed in the brightness and build of this light. If I had one request to make it just about perfect, it would be to have a keyhole mounting option on the foot or back. I'd love to be able to drive a screw or two into a beam or 2x4 and hang it from there. Otherwise love everything else. 

Dewalts DCL077b is a solid, adjustable 2000-Lumens LED light that accepts numerous Dewalt lithium batteries. It's substantial, with a foot of diagonal size, most of that the light chamber. Thickness is about 3 inches. The U-shaped swivel handle serves both as a way to carry the light and to prop it up at various angles when it sits on a flat surface. There are also two screw connectors, allowing it to be mounted to a tripod. A nice surprise was the On/Off button that when pressed results in a High, Medium, and Low power output of the light. It seems whatever DeWalt lithium battery you have will power the light. I successfully used the small XR; XR 4-AH; XR 5-AH; and larger FlexVolt 9.0-AH. Larger batteries can affect the swivel handle's complete range of rotation. You can also hang the light using it U-shaped handle, although there isn't a formal way to do that I was quite happy with a bungee cord with end hooks around whatever structural member was convenient, from 2x to a fixed pipe. Overall, highly useful large output light that can easily throw enough light in a dark or dim area for you to work safely.

DEWALT 20-Volt MAX Compact Task Light (Tool Only) Wow this light is bright! There are 3 light settings high, medium and low. I have used this unit for a few days now and I have to say it is the best task work light I’ve ever used. The handle rotates all the way around 360 degrees so you can set it in any position and it stays put. There are also two different spaces on the bottom of the handle 1/4” and 5/8” to attach the unit to a pole or a stand. It’s lightweight enough to carry anywhere and just heavy enough to stay put when you set it down. Your 20Volt Dewalt battery attaches to the back the same way it connects to most of their tools. This is a great addition to my tool box and I highly recommend it.

Amazingly bright light! Well built, rugged, and it uses all my current 20V DeWalt batteries! It has three brightness settings, from "sun" down to slightly dimmer "sun". Very sturdy handle with detents at multiple angles so it could be leaned back to direct the light where you need it. I had some of the old halogen lights, and I'm very glad to update to this LED light. It will be cooler and less hazardous to use than the old lights, while also providing more light in a compact form.

I have two, and when the power goes out, I pull them out and they give me all the light that is needed around the house. A 4 amp battery will last around 16 hours at med brightness. Great light vary happy.

I used this light in a completely dark attic. Not knowing how long the battery would last, I kept it on the lowest brightness of the three settings (which was still sufficiently bright). After 3 hours of continuous use, the 4 ampH battery only went down one bar. I haven’t used the tripod feature, but I like that it has two different size screw holes which gives more flexibility. The handle rotated 360 degrees which is nice when hanging on a nail or resting on a stud. Highly recommend.

very bright, can be used in a number of positions and has three levels of brightness. Works well.

I've bought two; they work very well with great battery life. I know that others like this light; because one was pilfered, thus me buying two!

Works great. I would like the handle to be a little taller so the light can rotate fully while on the tripod with a large battery in it. Like the 9ah flex volt. Excellent combo. Light stays on while in high bright mode for 10+ hours with that battery. I now own two of these lights. Ready to buy a third!.
