These batteries are awesome, and they hold a charge for a very long time. I’m not a contractor, but use these weekly and no issues. I own four and haven’t charged some of them for over a year. I will say, check the date codes on top of the batteries before buying, and be sure you’re buying 2022 and up. The DeWalt rapid charger is worth considering too for faster charging. The only con is that they are larger than a 5.0ah battery, which can make a smaller tool more bulky or cumbersome.

Bought this battery back in November and all was good until it stopped working/charging and I’m very disappointed. I don’t know why it stopped working if I took very good care it.

After years of great products Dewalt has changed. My last 3 battery purchases have been dreadful. Won’t charge after a few months. Forced me to try the knockoffs since Thierry cheap and will probably last the same life. Love my Dewalt tools. Hating the batteries.

Bought these for the more aH. Can complete the jobs at hand, whether it’s lawn care or deck building. No more excuses, gets the job done.

Be careful when purchasing this battery. I purchased with the Dewalt DCD791P1 (Brushless XR 20v drill/driver). This battery was listed on HD's site as option. The battery has the same model number as the battery that came with the drill, but did not seat properly on the charger and lock in place. The pin design on this battery was different than the battery that came with the drill. It would not charge at all because the design differences. Date codes on both drill battery and this battery were both 2020. The drill battery has a set of 6 independent slots for the pins in the middle (picture). The battery that HD had for this one has 5 taller slots like the 2 outer ones in my picture. Another indicator is the black piece in the grooved area. Battery supplied with drill is as shown, but the battery I received was all yellow.

I received my two 5Ah batteries and tried to charge them. 1 would never take a charge and was dead on arrival. The other took a partial charge and ran one of my tools for about 4-5 minutes. After that it would not take a charge. I could maybe understand 1 failure, but 2 for 2 means a big design or manufacturing problem (both?) for DeWalt. I tried 2 different DeWalt chargers.

I'm new to battery operated pole saw and i simply love it. I have used it about 10 different times since I received the pair about 6 weeks ago. I cut a lot of branches from the cedars around our new house. It is very easy to connect, lasted a long time, and I could charge it on a charger I already had when i purchased a circular saw many years ago. It is heavier than I thought it would be, but it makes sense and is not a problem. And i got the pair on sale, so i am very happy.

This is my first dewalt product and I really love it In the battery last me long so far so good will purchase this again

I love the lightweight tools and they still pack the torque and power of the generation before them

Dewalt battery made in many countries including: Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and China. The most important are the same price which ever country made. I am so happy that I recieve my two batteries "Made in The Japan"

Bad packaging from DeWalt had to return and almost had to return the second one.

Batteries last a long time

Wow, this battery last all day. Charge overnight as it takes that much time to do so. If your using an impact driver or drill, it’s very heavy and will wear out your wrist. I use it for jig and circular saw where the extra weight is an asset. Buy two because you can be charging one while using the other.

Good product, but a bit over priced. It's not the home depot's fault they're competitively priced, that's just how dewalt likes to stick it to ya.

It’s a battery. Quite honestly I don’t like that the time it lasts per charge isn’t much better than the one the drill set came with. I love dewalt products but I feel they could last longer per charge

This was a necessary purchase while doing disaster relief in Puerto Rico. Having the ability to preview the store inventory and therefore not face travel woes with the battery was nice. One battery this size lasts for a long time either in my circular saw or reciprocating saw. Thank you DW!! Dave

A bit larger in size than the standard 3, 4 or 5ah batteries. They last noticeably longer than the above mentioned batteries as well. Have been using constantly and consistently for a few months with no noticibly decline in power. I would recommend buying the fan cooled fast charger along with these as a standard charger takes hours to fill these up

I bought my drill about 2 yrs ago, it came with 2 or 3 AH batteries. They do last very well. I charged this 5 Ah battery and put it to the test drilling 3/8" holes in 1/4" metal brackets i had made for a boat project. The battery lasted noticeably longer than my other batteries before losing power. I charge it backup with the same charger used for the other batteries. Wish i have a pair of these!

This DeWalt 20 volt Max battery pack is really great for the "big jobs". This 5 amp hour (ah) batteru really works well in my Circular Saw and Impact Driver for heavy duty use...cutting framing lumber and plywood and installing lag bolts. It hold up to a good 1/2 day of fairly heavy use in these tools. It has a nice charge indicator light to let you know the charge left. I usually just charge it up during lunch time and then work the rest of the day. It has a number of other features like "no memory and virtually no self discharge". It's very light weight compared to my old 18 volt batteries at 1.4 lbs. It also comes with a 3 year FREE service contract. This is a great battery for the PRO and serious DIYer.

These XR tools are great, and if you need the extra capacity, then this is the battery for you. I got this one to use in my hedge clipper since it is the recommended battery for that tool. Capacity is great, I can trim every shrub in my yard (about 30) on one charge and still have plenty left. I especially like the fuel gauge on the battery so I can instantly tell the charge state before I start working. I would recommend this battery highly.
