This is a well made taping knife. The first thing I noticed was its balance, Most tapers I use are either handle heavy or blade heavy. This makes them awkward to handle and can cause uneven spreading of mud. This taper is perfectly balanced. The handle feel natural in the hand. It slides across the wall smoothly. The blade is strong enough when a little pressure is needed..The wide blade is much better than the narrower one when applying your mud over the tape.

It's a good ten inch blue steel blade. Just wish it was stainless steel. I have no other issues with this tool.

We got this to use as a painting accessory. We just redid all the doors and baseboards in our house and my wife loves using this taping knife instead of painters tape when edging along the floor or walls when painting baseboard or door casing. She paints about a ten inch section, then slides it along and just keeps on painting instead of constantly laying and removing painters tape. Works perfectly for this tank, even though it isn't necessarily the one it was designed for.

DeWALT designed and manufactured there taping knife using nearly 20-years of input from professional finishers. I can see the difference from other taping knifes. The knife is lighter, The grip is easier to hold, The way it is constructed allows the blade to stay ridged on the long side and on the short side the blue steel allows it to flex evenly for an even tapper of the mud. The tapper of the blade on the outside edge helps prevent less overflow. for easier cleanup of the edge of the seem. It come in many different sizes. I hope this help with your decision. The 10 inch blue steel taping knife is an excellent Dewalt product. The contour of the handle was very well designed to make it comfortable to use. The blue steel blade keeps it from rusting like some inferior blades do, and it also has enough flexibility to make for an easy sweep on the wall joint. The complete tool is well constructed to last a long time for the professional user.
