Tough cutter, but the tip portion broke after about the third hole I drilled (through 13/16” white oak). I have to drill pilots first now, then use this bit.

It worked out great.

Perfect for my Project

constantly jammed up in the wood - no matter how slowly I lowered the blade, it jammed. It is heading to the metal recycling bucket.

Used it to drill the exact sized hole for a bluebird house and it worked well.

Diablo does it again. First I bought sawzall blades, then a miter saw blade. Now these spade bits. Sharp as expected and almost pull themselves through the wood. Will buy again when my other size spade bits go dull.

Doesn't drill a smooth hole. The bit gets stuck in the wood and takes a lot of time to drill through a 3/4" piece of wood.

I used this bit to bore holes in 2x6's to install bulkhead connectors for drains in raised bed self-wicking garden planters. It is a very agressive bit. To mitigate the gouging on the back side, I stopped drilling when the center pilot bit came through the 2x6. I completed the hole from the backside and it made the hole smoother on both sides. Good value!

Better than the other brands!

Impossible to start on hard surface (melamine laminate for instance) without pre drilling, due to dull tip. Extremely aggressive guide screw drives forward so hard that my brushless drill stalls. Impossible to do high rpm / slow feed for clean holes. Entry edge is chipped no matter how careful you try, and exit edge looks just like after explosion. So if you have to use it, suggest predrilling with ~3/8 and going as careful as you can. Returning, and never again.

Easy to start drilling holes where you need them to be. Great tool for even the most novice DIY person.
