Didn't work.
The features looked pretty good so I ordered it. I received the notice from the store that the cooler had arrived and went to pick it up. I wrestled it into the car then into the house to the spot where we wanted it. The cooler looked fine and the lights came on and the motor ran. It ran and ran for about 6 hours on the 39 degree setting (the lowest temperature). At the end of the 6 hours the temperature was 2 degrees higher than the room temperature, I guess from the heat generated by the motor. The next day I wrestled it back into the car, etc., etc. I took it to the return desk where the clerk said, "What's wrong with it?" I said, "It doesn't work". She said, somewhat defiantly, "What do you mean it doesn't work?" as if that was an impossibility. She refunded it but by the time I left I wasn't happy. The bright spot of the fiasco was a young Latino HD worker (Miguel, I believe) who saw me fighting the thing out of the car and ran across the parking lot to help me.

Pleased with purchase
Previously owned a lower-priced Danby 2-temp-zone model that had trouble maintaining accurate temps. This model appears to be made with higher quality components and has worked as expected in its first month of service.

Dead Unit
The Danby unit looks good but no temperature gauge to monitor. I let it sit for a day initially to let the fluids settle inside before turning it on. It worked for a few weeks then quit running. I turned it off for a day then tried again. It ran for 1 year then did the same thing. I did the same thing and checked my extended warranty. I had another 90 days. It worked again for 100 then nothing and nothing. I found there are no real Danby repair centers locally. Very disappointed in this company.

Danby wine cooler
this Danby wine cooler is a waste of good metals and glass. We've been through two in less then 3 years. NO reason for freon to leak within 15 months on both units, that's poor quality and ridiculous. Danby covered the first one outside of warranty but refused to cover second one.

Stops cooling after limited use and is unrepairable
My builder included this in our new home. The first one stopped working after 6 months, and Danby's customer service was terrible. I called to have it serviced and found that it was not repairable. Fortunately my builder replaced it (with a smaller unit), but I had to pay $75 to dispose of the original one at the local dump. The one that was replaced lasted about 5 months until it too stopped working. I will never purchase another Danby product ever again as they are unreliable and their customer service is pathetic.
