The knobs added an elegant finishing touch to our remodeled master bedroom and bath.
They were easy to install since they replaced existing knobs, but they come with good instructions, including a drilling template, and the necessary hardware, if you are installing on new doors.

Nice looking door knob. My only issue was that I bought this knob as a replacement for an previously existing door knob installation. When I went to install, it turns out the internal workings (the part that goes in the hole on the edge of the door) is "too deep" to be installed into my existing hole. I need to get a large spade bit and deepen that opening for this knob to work. Since the door is at a site remote to my home I had no access to said bit... so the knob remains uninstalled. I plan to install next spring when the cabin gets reopened, if I remember the bit... I was a bit disappointed... I assumed that all knobs like this had standard sizing.

Very nice looking, high quality door knob set was easy to install and works like a charm. I wanted something special for our new bathroom door and this set was just what my wife and I were looking for. Since we were using a new pre-hung door with factory door knob cut-outs it took only a couple of minutes to install; the instructions were clear and simple only requiring a screw driver and a hammer. Highly recommended.

This is the prefect doorknob for a bath or bedroom. It locks easily from the inside by just turning a button and yet if someone accidentally gets locked in, such as a small child, it can be unlocked easily without breaking anything. It is also great to have if a family member or guest accidentally falls in the room or is not well, yet prevents someone from opening the door unexpectedly. It also has a lovely soft, sleek appearance. It is a great asset to any home, especially in keeping it safe.

I found the Defiant brand of door knobs on the Home Depot web site and really liked the Madrid Matte black line of knobs. I started out by ordering ones for my front door and door to my garage. They really have a modern upscale look to them. So I decided to replace all of the knobs in my house with them. When the privacy knobs arrived I was a little bit disappointed because they can be easily unlocked with a screw driver or coin. Not really what I would call privacy, but since I wanted them all to match and it is only my wife in I in the house, I completed the change. I just wished they were not so easily to get into when they are locked.

We made this change to make our privacy units more accessible for users in the event that if someone was badly injured and require immediate assistance, you will not have to find a "specialty" key to open the door. Even worse, you will not have to break the door down if the "specialty" key is lost. Having our privacy (Bed & Bath) units set up in this manner will allow you to quickly render assistance if this situation should ever arise.

Madrid Satin Nickel Bed/Bath privacy knob is another winner in my list of great products.
A friend had moved into an apartment and asked if it was ok to lock his door. This was the perfect time to test out the knob.
The directions and easy to follow directions made installation a breeze. Not only that but the color went well with the other doorknobs in the home.
It has with stood the tampering of a five year old and looks as good now and into the future.

My bathroom door in the hallway had a cheap bronze handle that kept coming unscrewed and just frankly did not look nice. This unit has added a ton of class look and value to the area and really stands out. It also matches the Glacier faucets, handles towel bars etc that I have installed in my hall bathroom. My daughter who usually does not notice when I change things said wow dad thats a really nice door

Changing out door knobs gives your hallway or your room such a nice facelift. These knobs should last a couple decades and it doesn't cost you that much .We replaced all of our 1990s gold knobs and it makes the house look so much better, especially when all of them match. Sure, these locks can easily be picked from the outside with a nail or a wuarter, but I didn't mind. Some may like the pin hole one where you need a skinny key to unlock but I didn't care for it. After installing so many, I can change out each knob in under 4 minutes

The MADRID MATTE BLACK BED/BATH PRIVACY DOOR KNOB arrived just in time. I've always wanted to replace those original fake brass look door knobs. This knob easily installs in minutes. The bronze finish is classy. It has a shine yet looks matted. It also is a perfect match for new floors. This knob is keyed with a turn to lock inside feature. It looks and feels great.

When I receive samples, it is not often clear if I will be reviewing an item that is presented for sale to the public or one presented in special packaging. With that said, I received a keyed door knob without any key. It could very well be from a contractor pack and the keys were separated in shipping. It is a nice door knob, installs easily with all other parts needed. The finish was lighter than expected but overall, it is a good piece.

We would like to point out that our "Privacy" or "Bed/Bath" knobs do not come with keys. There is a slot on the front of the knob that allows you to insert a small flat object, such as a coin, thumb nail, butter knife, or credit card into the slot, and turn to unlock from the outside.
The installation guide shows a key in the package contents. However if you look on the back of the instructions, just after the final step for the installation process, we have included a "special note for privacy function (bed & bath)" stating that the bed and bath units do not require a key for operation.
If you should require a unit with a key, we would be happy to send you a keyed entry unit instead of the bed and bath unit. Simply contact our customer service team at 1-877-663-5625 (M-F, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm EST).

I just installed my new bathroom door knob and it took me less than 10 minutes! It looks beautiful and feels nice in your hand when you turn the knob. I like the aged bronze finish which matches the faucet in the bathroom and the other door knobs in the house. It's amazing how changing a doorknob can modernize your home. I would highly recommend this knob to anyone who wants to update the look of their home.

Defiant is the store brand so I expected OK quality, but nothing special, was I surprised! The antique bronze finish was a perfect match for the other, higher end fixtures (Moen, Kohler) in the bathroom. The finish looked every bit as good as these high dollar items. The quality also was every bit as good as the national brand door knobs I normally buy (Schlage, Kwikset). It is very solid and well built. The locking knob set also came with a full array of parts to accommodate any likely type of installation. Instructions were good. Fit was good. The only down side is that I now feel stupid for spending more money on the other brands when this line is every bit as good or better.

We got this four our daughter's bedroom door since she had managed to ruin the existing one and it does the job. I love how not easy it is for her to twist it open so when we close the door we can make sure she won't be going in or coming out.
It is reversible so it can be used with both right and left swing doors. The mounting hardware is included so all you need is a Phillips screwdriver and I have to say, it was fairly easy considering this was my first door knob installation.
The lock is on the inside and you can unlock it from the outside using pretty much anything. The 2 times that I had to unlock it I used a hair clip and a butter knife and had no problem.

I was hesitant to order this knob, considering how inexpensive it was. I was pleasantly surprised, however, when I received it. It is a very nice looking knob for the money. It was easy to install using just basic tools and was a perfect fit using the same holes that my old knob was using. The locking mechanism operates smoothly and the knob turns easily. A good buy for the money.

Product arrived quickly after ordering on-line and included all necessary parts and instructions for installation. I was merely replacing an old bathroom door knob so had no need for the drilling, etc. instructions. The manufacturer designed this for ease of installation as they have a "sleeve" from the "screw" side of the knob to easily mate the screw to its corresponding hole...made for a quick installation with less chance of cross-threading. Also on the non-lock side of the knob, you can unlock the door with a simple coin or screw-driver (instead of the traditional metal rod) in case of an emergency. Nice design!
