The grab bar is strong and well made. The mounting brackets are sturdy and well made. There is an optional drywall mounting bracket included, as well as s.s. screws. The finish was blemish free, and quality enough for any bathroom. The included instructions are easy to follow, just read ahead to determine your best mounting option. This is more of an intermediate skill level, I would recommend someone with knowledge of framing to assist with this. Nice overall product, will purchase more for our remodel.

The Delta 42 inch grab bar is high quality and well made. The diameter of the bar is a good size for the hand. Large enough to feel sturdy, but not so large for smaller hands to feel uncomfortable grasping. It comes with hardware for direct attaching to studs, but also has an option for 1 stud and 1 non-stud attachment. I prefer mounting both ends to a stud, but if you follow the instructions provided it can work.

Delta has a history of making good bath products and this outstanding grab bar is no exception. I like that it is 42 inches long and can be installed over a bath tub at an angle so you have safety support whether you are pulling up from sitting in a bath tub or standing in the tub for a shower. Also it is easier to install both ends into a stud just by adjusting the angle. Now you have excellent stability without the possibility of pulling through the plasterboard. I simply cannot deal with using plasterboard to hold up a towel bar much less a grab bar. The specs for this grab bar say it holds 250 pounds with ease. It is made of strong metal with a beautiful polished nickel finish. I can't see any way one can go wrong with this product.

I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up the box how heavy this grab bar was. It also looks great as well and is a nice additional to our fairly new bath tub surround. Installation was straight forward with the most difficult part being sure I had located studs behind the surround before I started drilling holes. Due to the spacing of the studs I was able to mount this at an angle fairly close to that recommended by the manufacture to make it easier to enter and leave the tub. The final installation looks great with all the screws hidden once the install is complete.

DELTA TRADITIONAL 42 IN. GRAB BAR IN POLISHED NICKEL The grab bar looked nice but the grab bar needed to wipe off residual water spots immediately after finishing my shower. I felt more secure to have the grab bar in the shower/tub from slipping wet & soapy surface. Good to know that it supports up to 500 lbs. I had two guys to install the grab bar for me where I wanted at my guest shower stall. It included mounting hardware for stud and non stud installation. I felt comfortable to have the grab bar in the shower stall for guest bathroom with knowing that the guests are safe to use the nice looking grab bar for important safety.

Very heavy, strong materials. This requires the installation of mounting hardware that requires some good skills or ability to follow written instructions. I do not recommend installing this unless you use all of the hardware according to instructions, so it can hold hundreds of pounds if necessary. The polished nickel finish is very rich looking. It's a very good quality product.

Beautiful Delta 42 inch grab bar in a brushed nickel finish. This grab bar is very sturdy which is what we needed at the side of our jacuzzi bathtub. It was easy to install and came packaged well. It helps complete our bathroom to complement our other brushed nickel accessories. We can now feel safer getting out of the jacuzzi bathtub, since it can be slippery when wet!

Delta has been a name we trusted for years for quality and durable products. The Delta 42 in. Grab Bar in Polished Nickel was no exception to the tradition. The Grab Bar felt extremely durable, weighing in between 4 and 5 lbs. and built of solid material that will not collapse under extreme weight (if installed properly). The Grab bar has a smooth finish to the bar (making it pretty to view), but functionally speaking, it should probably be made of a slightly rougher finish to prevent hands from slipping when grabbed. The product overall was high quality and appropriately polished for a bathroom. My recommendation for improvement is in the documentation. The documentation was lacking clarity and sometimes wordy. I think a video demonstration of the installation would be awesome. Also, it should be noted that clearance of 4-5 inches behind the drywall is need for the anchor.

Delta has long had a reputation of quality and excellence. And this 42 inch grab bar is just one example of their commitment to people... I found the grab bar easy to install and at the same time the instructions give you the means to install the bar in a manner that gives one the feeling of confidence that it will do the job it's meant to do. It truly is a beautiful addition to the bathroom.

The Delta Traditional 42" grab bar in polished nickel is very nice looking and it is very functional. It is much prettier than I thought it would be (the pictures don't do it justice). This safety feature in our new bathroom makes me feel more secure about family members getting in and out of the tub/shower. We are renovating our home and this truly added to the beauty and character of the room.

Now that we're getting older we thought we needed one of these in our new shower. I was very scared of drilling holes in brand new tile but found out and it was really pretty cotton-picking simple. And by simple I mean if you have the right bit any drill will finally do the trick. Mark of the spot where you want it, level it up, identify holes properly and drill out. Now all you do is just tightening down the screws. I did put some silicone around the screws and the plate. Total work time...30 minutes.

Great sized 42 inch long grab bar in polished nickel from Delta. It looks very similar to chrome because it’s bright and polished. It does have the Brilliance finish which is supposed to resist abrasions and discolorations better than brass or chrome. The mounting flanges are 3” in diameter, the grab bar itself is 1-1/4” and it extends 2-3/4” from the wall when installed. It comes with 6 wood screws for mounting into studs and there’s a cover plate to conceal the screws. It’s a pretty solid grab bar.

The Delta Traditional 42in. grab bar in polished nickel is a very nice grab bar. I have a vertical 24in. grab bar in my shower now and I want to replace it with this grab bar. I will run this horizontally at an angle for better reach. This grab bar comes with wood screws and a grab bar wall anchor if needed. The 1-1/4in. bar diameter is great for a good grip. It is made of durable die-cast zinc posts and a stainless steel bar. Very good quality grab bar.

This Grab Bar can be easily installed by an intermediate DIY. All necessary hardware is included. It is best if you can find 2 studs for the installation for the best safety. In the event, you can find only one stud (at least one end should be installed on a stud) a special anchor is included in the kit for the other end, the sheetrock wall installation. As always, check your work for strength and safety before releasing it to the user.

This 42inch grab bar is very easy to assemble. Turn and pull the escushions to expose the mounting holes it comes with 6 screws but their are 5 holes on each side i added my own stainless steel screws to make it more sturdy. My level keeps slipping off the smooth grab bar so i got some rubber bands and tied my level to the center of the grab bar to make it easier. I centered the bar and put one screw on each side to hold it in place so i could mark were to drill the pilot holes for the remaining 8 screws. I removed the two screws holding the bar and put a dot of silicone on each hole and put a thick layer of silicone on the grab bar flange before pressing it up against the wall and driving all 10 stainless steel screws by hand with a screwdriver. It is important to not use a drill or impact you would risk striping out the hole in the wall and have to resort to using a biger diameter screw and you would also risk slipping off the head of the screw and damaging the grab bar or the wall.

Recommended with reservations. This is an attractive and sturdy grab bar, but it only came with one anchor. That's ok for a vertical installation, but I would hesitate to have only one side anchored in with drywall installation. Additionally, the installation instructions were difficult to understand and inadequate - it did not mention that you needed to drill a hole with a 1.25" hole saw for the anchor, nor did it mention you needed an interior wall with 3.5" clearance inside for the hardware. It did mention the size bit to use for pilot holes, but that was all. I also had trouble with the base plate for the rod; it was not clear which side went towards the wall. The rod itself had five screw holes and I drilled my pilot holes in the wrong ones - I had to adjust the base plate and peel off the foam tape and remove three of the small screws to make it flush. I don't know how it was supposed to be done, the instructions were not clear. A video from Delta would have been helpful. The bar itself is strong and it seems sturdy enough with only one anchor. A grab bar is a necessary item with a whirlpool tub and I am glad that this one was installed.

Recommended with reservations. I had quite a difficult time installing this grab bar. This took me way longed than I anticipated to install. I don't have a bathroom wall in my house with studs 42" apart, and this requires either installation into studs or use of the included anchor. Fortunately for me I was installing it vertically; the anchor supports 500 pounds but there is only one of them, and I would feel insecure installing horizontally into drywall with an anchor just at one end. The instructions for the anchor are woefully inadequate - it actually requires drilling a fairly large hole into the wall to insert it (not mentioned in instructions), and also 3.5" inside clearance in the wall (not mentioned). I found this out by reading reviews on an online website; without this additional help, I think this would not have been mountable for my circumstances. Once the anchor was in, I also had some difficulty with the base plate, I had it aligned wrong (due to unclear instructions) and had to unstick the sticky tape to the wall and the base plate to re-align. This loosened the silicone grommet which forms a wall seal, so mine sticks out a bit. Once the base plate was on, I removed the three small screws which made the end piece not line up flush - I'm not sure what their purpose was, but it is likely not critical. After that, it was easy sailing with just six screws to install it. There are ten screw holes, however, so once again the instructions are lacking. I drilled pilot holes in the wrong holes, but since I was drilling into a base plate with large screws and into drywall in the bottom, they weren't really needed anyway. I forgot to measure the allowance for the plate cover when I measured and due to tight clearances, the base plate cover didn't go on all the way on the bottom ring. I used double sided foam tape to make it stick. I don't expect it to get bumped at all in its location, so that was ok. This is a nice looking grab bar and it is mounted very securely now, with the anchor in place. It's a necessary safety feature next to my whirlpool bath. I liked that it could be installed without a stud, but the product needs a video instruction online and also better written installation instructions.
