Decent Tool but Not Durable!
I'm a homeowner who uses tool (MM50) occasionally for Light duty tasks. Tool failed after a couple hours of use with a frozen switch in the off position. Sent it in under warranty and they sent back a different refurbished tool. Now after a few uses here and there the switch is frozen (fortunately in the "on" position so I can still use it if I have to.) I don't recommend that you waste your time and money on this tool...it won't last!

    Broke while removing tile.
Had this for 2.5 years. I'm not a contractor. I used it primarily for cutting door casings when I put laminate in my basement, pretty light duty stuff, a few other small wood cuts here and there. This week I tried to use it to remove a small patch of backsplash tile. I noticed it would get hot after just one tile, so I literally would let it cool for at least an hour while I did other stuff, got to the last tile with the mm50 after cooling for a couple hours, and just after I started something snapped inside and no more oscillation. Pretty disappointed, thought this would be a once in a lifetime purchase the amount I use my stuff and with how I look after my stuff.

      Amazing tool to have!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few months ago and so far have used it to sand, cut wood and metal. It’s a little slow compared to a dedicated powered saw but it does the job and as far as sanding it does great. I love that it has variable speeds and it has plenty of power to get through all kinds of materials. The lock system is a little slower than some quick release systems but I like this one. The angled head and grips are nice and it’s comfortable to use. It’s pretty easy to find attachments that fit from dremel as well as many other companies which is convenient. I definitely recommend this model to anyone looking for a good oscillating tool.

Maybe not super durable for all applications.
I had this tool for 6 months. Tt went through intermittent heavy usage, as I did repairs around the house. I've never owned an oscillating tool before and I found this one to be invaluable. I used it to flush-cut drywall and plywood where it would have been otherwise difficult or impossible to get a rotating blade. Then the head stopped oscillating. Lacking the receipt, I tore the tool open and found the pictured failure. Maybe this tool is not well-suited for cutting 3/4" plywood and similar.

A great tool that just quit working after 2 mons.
I've been happy with my Dremels, . . . until this Multi-Max 50MM. It died while working on a project (a jigsaw map of the 50 states) with my HS Special Ed. students. The switch got stuck & the tool stopped working. Can this be replaced? Bought in 09/'21

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had these tools for some years now and this is the latest project. They cut fiberboard really well!

                Good too - With Issues
I purchased this tool a few days ago at Home Depot, yet I already ran into some trouble with it. I thought maybe it was just me at first, but then I looked into other reviews on Home Depot and a good number of people ran into it as well(a lot did not so it could be some batches are faulty). The problem is that after only using this tool for cutting maybe 2-3 linear feet of 5/8 " plywood and 1 or 2 nails, I noticed the head had become crooked. Not the cutting blade, but the actual head you fasten the blades to (which is not adjustable). It did not affect the operation of the unit, but when using a straight cut blade I had to hold the tool at an angle. I could probably just deal with it, but since I only just bought it, I will be returning it. (see pictures) The second thing I noticed that annoyed me is the flaw in the blade locking system. It is very quick and easy to change the blades without any tools, however, it kept loosening on its own very quickly during usage. This forced me to stop frequently and hand tighten the blade or else it would get too loose and move around unacceptably. I would rather have a blade that I had to use a tool to change if it means it stayed in place without having to constantly tighten. I'm not sure if I would recommend this product, it seems to work great for what it does, but the flaw in whatever design that allows the head to become crooked has me worried about the overall build quality of it. For the premium price and brand, I did not expect the issues.

How did I survive without one?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally got my long awaited Dremel MM50 kit at Christmas, just in time to replace a warped, sagging water damaged under cabinet Kitchen shelf. (Of course we fixed the source of the leaks first). The MM50 not only made the demolition of the existing shelf quick work, it made all of the cuts in the replacement wood simple. It cut like butter through the two by fours to build the new bracing frame, using the Dremel 2 x 4 blade. Once the wood was replaced with the upgraded shelf, the MM50 sanded al the surfaces and accurately trimmed and sliced the waterproof tile that covered the new wood surface. I couldn't be more pleased with the way it made the job look as good or better than it would have with a pro. Can't wait to see how it can help on other projects around the Texas Workshop!

                  Supremely useful.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to purchase this after using my brother-in-law's MM-45 to replace some windows in my log home. It cut out caulking, freed rusted screws, trimmed framing to remove rot and cut a splendid kerf for inserting/installing a drip cap. These 3 large (2 - 5 ft wide and 1 6 ft wide) took 3 of us both weekend days to complete and the multi-max cut off many hours I'm sure. My next project is to remove adhesive on a concrete floor before installing a new engineered floor. Come the spring there are 2 huge slider windows on the lake side that we will be replacing. Once again I will rely on this tool heavily.

Perfect tool for small spaces, intricate angles
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this over 4 years ago and it is a workhorse! Cutting wood or scraping up years old glue from tile floors and linoleum. Plenty of specialty blades available. The sanding head is great for removing old stain from cedar logs, and lightweight!

                      Versatile Tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this tool about 3 months ago. I have refurbished by front porch and rebuilt my entire back deck. This tool is a swiss-army knife for any sanding or cutting needs. I had to notch 6X6 timbers and this tool made the fine details remarkably flawless. I have never worked with a tools that has so many uses and performs like a champ every time.

Waited way to long to purchase this tool. Needed to scrap paint and rust off three large ornamental steel planter cages. The Dremel with sanding pads provided excellent access to every nook and cranny prepping the surfaces for Rust-oleum Rust Reformer, Primer and Hammered Gloss Black finish. Well done. I should have been in sales.

                        Multi-Max MM50
Bought the Multi-Max MM50 oscillating tool kit for a couple of home projects. One was to cut the oak wine rack above our fridge to allow for a new taller fridge. I was quoted $1500 by a cabinet maker to do the reno. The oscillating tool worked great and the DIY reno looks like original install. Saved myself a bundle. Next project is using the grout remover, hope that works as well as the oak project.

Picked up this multitool today to cut door casing and jambs for new tile in a bathroom renovation. This is about the only tool I don't already own so I had a choice - buy the cheap model at a neighboring "tool store" or buy a real tool. Well, I'm glad I chose the Dremel. You can tell when you pick it up that is no toy. The 5 amp motor gives plenty of power. Used it to cut typical pine trim and also to make longitudinal cuts in three oak door saddles to create a "step" for the higher tile height. No problems at all. The oak smoked a bit while cutting but that's just a result of the power of the tool. Take a look at the before and after photos to see the results.

                          Mighty MM50 machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got my Dremel MultiMax MM50 a month ago and recently started using it. I used the Dremel on a mailbox rebuild project. The tool is light and easy to use. The setting knob was conveniently located and easy to dial. The MM50 came with a handy heavy duty bag and multiple blades. The issue I did have with the Dremel was the way the blade is installed and then maneuvered in a different position. No delays this time around but I'm sure if I'm cutting different positions, a quick disconnect/ connect would be ideal. Overall though, great tool to have for numerous needs.

                            Fantastic tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the MM50-01 for close to a month now. I am in the middle of refinishing 20 pieces of outdoor mahogany furniture for a client. And it has been great to use in the some of the tight areas a normal sander can't fit. Also have used to flush cut dowels to cover screw holes in the furniture. It is much lighter than an older multi-tool that I have had One of the downfalls at this time and it my be my fought for not looking to see if there was a smaller extension finger like to get into really tight areas that would be able to clear the motor area and still reach into tighter spaces.

                              Time to upgrade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an owner of an original Dremel Multi-Max, the MM50-01 Multi-Max is an incredible upgrade to the already great tool! With more than double the power and tool-less blade change system makes it a perfect time to upgrade. Blade changes are almost instant using the new system, and no Allen wrenches to lose, just turn the knob to tighten! I found the new system to securely hold both Dremel and non-Dremel blades and accessories. When I used the Multi-Max to sand and cut, I found it to be precise and have less vibrations that the original leaving clean cuts and smooth sanding. The small and tight design allowed me to get into tight corners with ease. With 10 different speeds, it was easy to dial in the right one. Both the speed control knob and the ON/OFF switch handily located on the top of the tool. The tool came with a variety of blades and sanding accessories and a miserable soft carry case instead of a hard case like the original. With Dremel top quality and a two-year warranty, I feel like this will be a great tool for a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall it has a very solid and easy to grip body design. The angled head feels very natural while cutting and gives better control. The best feature is having the keyless accessory change. The locking pin is much flusher than others I have used. That helps greatly to prevent scratching a finished surface while making parallel flush cuts. Also cutting the tabs on projects from the cnc has been unbelievably helpful. Lastly the included accessories are all must haves and not just filler pieces.
