Got a set of these bits. They are designed for quick change and that part works well. These bits are built with two pieces. I tried to drill in hard metal which they say they are supposed to do but I went through two of the bits. Both the bits broke before I could get the holes drilled. I'm sure they would probably work OK with wood or a softer metal.

There are a couple of sizes I use a lot. I primarily use my impact driver so having the ¼” Hex Shank makes it quick to change. Because they have a 135° split point they are supposed to self-center when drilling, so far they has be true for me. Most of what I’ll be drilling into is mild steel and some wood, so I’m hoping they’ll last a long time since they’re designed to drill into stainless steel and hard metals. I like to keep several on hand so if I have a problem on a job site I can just can change out. When I get back to the shop at night or in the morning, I’ll take some time to sharpen them.

1/4 in. Quick Change Drill Bit with Hex Shank (12-Pieces). Made by Drill America. I like the way it handled, Made of Very hard metal, it only took me seconds to bore thru steel with speed and ease. It also keeps itself center with no problems, I could keep going without having to worry about the tip of this bit getting rounded anytime soon. Plus the Hex shank is a perfect fit for my impact driver. Yes, I would recommend it to my friends.

Hard to say much about a dril. My experience in past is the ones smaller than this break a lot larger ones actually fall apart too. Why having 12 is good. They break when I put a lot of pressure on the electric drill and I bend it just a little. I do a lot of building find they break about ever 3 or 4 hours of use which is a lot of use!

I have used them very little, but it seems that they are of good quality, also for the very affordable price...thank you

These bits work great for pre drilling metal. If treated correctly, we have drilled over 1000 holes with one bit

It cut very well. Only used it a few times. Time will tell on its durability.

but, i am just a home do it yourselfer. my only application is to make pilot holes. this prevents me from spliting wood when using my impact driver as a drill. i have two, 1/4" quick change impact drivers with 3 torque settings, one for making pilot hole, the other for driving the wood screw. this bit, worms out the shaved wood, makes for less time, of cleaning out/prepping the pilot hole so that the wood screw does not have to deal with a plug/pile of shavings,

Well made, sharp, and I got plenty for the commons sizes.

This quick change drill performed very well and was a perfect replacement for the one that broke.

Bits broke off at drill connection.

Used these on stainless steel and it melted the bit. Description specifically says it’s for metal, it’s not.

A great design for using this bit in an impact driver. A low price for this good product.

These excellent drill bits are of the very best quality materials, and design. They are tough enough for any job.

can use with cordless drill driver just by pulling out drill. no unscrewing, inserting and tightening needed. very convenient - work goes faster. very reasonable price, a little over $1 each,

Drill breaks off hexagon base

These bits seem to be holding up very well. They are HSS (High speed steel) bits. So far I have used them on wood substrate mainly as I build a lot of things out of wood. I have also used these bits to drill plastics, PVC pipe, and I have drilled some holes in steel. I like that they are quick change so that I can use the different sizes in my quick change shank adapter, or my impact driver. I haven't used them in the impact driver very often, because I generally have my drill handy when I am building anything.

It's made from high speed steel and features a 135 degree split point which permits drilling into most wood and metal without fear of the bit walking around your project. It's been surface treated for use on stainless steel and other extremely hard metals and, generally speaking, is a good choice for general drilling purposes. The hex shank permits its use in quick-change chucks and the bit stays sharp for quite a while. Unless your needs are specific, I'd recommend this bit to anyone looking for a good, long lasting, general purpose drilling solution.

Whoever invented the quick change drill bit is a genius. Although these bits cost a little bit more than their competitors' bits, they are well worth it. The construction and materials used are excellent and unlike other cheaper bits, they spin true with no wobble. They are much sharper and stay sharp much longer than their competitors' bits. The bits drill extremely clean holes with little to no tear out even in soft woods like pine.

Strong and easy to use! this item does the job! i like how it powers through the material i am using. great piece of equipment to have in your tool box. i will use it all the time since we do a lot of drilling here. i am glad i have several pieces also, so when it gets dull , i will have back up. its a great tool and at a great price. i recommend having this for your toolbox.

The tinsel strength is better than I've seen in a bit in a a long time. The metal that it made from will allow the bit to last a long time. The only thing I believe is the way the description led one to believe that you were getting different sizes of bits and the shank was 1/4".
