The color is very vibrant with a hand-painted "ombre" fading from dark to light cobalt blue. The planter is very light and easy to move, but remember that it gets pretty heavy when it is full of potting soil. It is more freeze-resistant than concrete or terra cotta and that is a reason for me to buy it as I don't like having to bring planters inside in the winter. When the package arrives, make sure to check for damage as the surface can crack or chip if it is not packed in a sturdy box with lots of padding.

The color is a very pretty "ombre" transition of cobalt blue from light to dark. However, even after requesting a second pot when the first one was damaged in transit, there was still a chip on the edge (see photo) which shows the white composite material underneath. It is amazing that they can create a pot that is so lightweight but still looks very sturdy, and they just need to improve the packing. It also is much more weather-resistant than cement or terra cotta. Note also that when the pot is full, since it is so large it will still be near impossible to move even if the pot itself is very lightweight.

The DurX Litecrete 15x12 inche blue lightweight concrete vibrant ombre tulip medium planter is a nice looking, lightweight planter, but there are a few drawbacks to an otherwise beautiful and distinct looking planter. The litecrete material is prone to chipping/cracking. I haven't had it in winter yet, but my guess is that you have to be extra careful with moisture too, as two of these pots have either chipped or cracked very easily on me within a few weeks. I'd recommend brining it into a basement or garage in the winter so that it's warmer. It is a beautiful blue and the material looks super heavy but is lightweight, so that's definitely a plus. Just be super careful with how you move it and make sure not to bang into it/knock it over.

This is a revised review of the product. Color is dark turquoise green at the top which fades to turquoise at the bottom. The finish did not run after left outdoors in the rain for about a week. I went over the planter with a disinfecting wipe and the finish did not come off with cleaning. It is fairly lightweight, easily carried by one when empty. There is a small drainage hole at the bottom. The wall of the planter is thin. The rim may be easily chipped. The original sample I received to review was inadequately packaged and arrived with multiple chips and cracks. The vendor kindly sent a replacement which arrived intact packed in styrofoam. I added a star for customer service and another for improved protection for shipping. Overall I think the planter is too fragile at this price point. I'll leave outside over the winter and hope to use for annuals next spring.

This is a revised review of the product. The planter is fairly lightweight and a colorful bright blue. The finish is matte, not shiny. There is a small drainage hole at the bottom. I left the planter outside for a week in rainy weather and went over the finish with a disinfecting wipe. The blue color did not run or wipe off. The wall of the planter is very thin and fragile. Original shipment arrived broken due too sparse packaging for a fragile item. The vendor was kind enough to send a replacement planter which arrived intact, packaged in lots of styrofoam. I added a star for customer service and a star for improved packaging and undamaged product. I still think the planter is too thin and fragile at this price point, but will leave it out over the winter and use for annuals next spring if it survives. Plenty big for thriller, filler and spiller.

This planter is absolutely beautiful. It is handmade with concrete and fiber composite, which makes it much lighter in weight and easier to handle. The color and patina is hand applied, making each pot unique. The tulip cup shape is lovely. The pot can be used indoors or outdoors and it is weather resistant. I have to say: I don't know which is prettier, the pot or the flowers it contains.

We were looking for a large planter for our entryway that matched our house, and this one filled the bill. It is solid, but light enough to be maneuverable, and of course has good drainage. Great color and as you can see, matches the house color. And it's big enough for the 'mini garden' that my wife has in mind. I was quite surprised at just how light and easy to handle it is in spite of the size.

If you want to introduce a vibrant turquoise into your home or patio, this planter will certainly serve that purpose. It looks like 100% stone but is lightweight for ease of movement. Ingenious how they can blend concrete and fibers and make colorful planters. It is fragile though so you do have to handle with care. Hole in the bottom for drainage outdoors but fits beautifully indoors as well. Minor paint imperfections only add to its appeal and it looks like it was molded straight from mother nature itself. I filled it with newspapers and moss which I topped with plastic and red lava rocks. I plan to add more lava rocks and a timer controlled uplight behind the planter

Excellent quality - beautifully painted finish with nice color gradation. Not sure what the material is, but it is thin, light & very strong. It has a ceramic look and exterior texture, but seems to be some kind of composite. Its light weight makes it easy to move around, as opposed to concrete or pottery material. It is fairly expensive, so not something I would buy many of. But great for a special location.

I love my new planter. Besides the large size, the vibrant color is so striking. It just stands out amongst many of my planters in my yard. For now I'm putting another planter into it, because the old planter is made of plastic and the color is in black. Nothing much to look at there. I also like the new construction material. It's light weight, much less weight than the traditional clay pot. If the planter was made from ordinary concrete, I don't think I would able to pick it up. Once you fill it with soil, it is nearly impossible to move it. The new, lightweight concrete is the new technology that resolves the weight issue. However it's breakable just like any traditional planter.

I am a sucker for anything turquoise and this was no exception! I love the ombre look and how having a darker color by the rim really makes my mums pop even more in the planter. I needed a large planter that wouldn't be too heavy for me to hoist around even when filled with soil/ compost and plants. This planter LOOKS like it weighs a ton but I am able to manuever it easily and it hides a little imperfection on our front steps. What a beautiful welcome home to see this when I pull in!

This is the second of three of these planter pots by this particular manufacturer that I’ve had the opportunity to review. The first thing that stood out to me with this model was the vibrant blue color and how much I liked it. I think out of all of them the color of this planter would have to be my favorite. I had initially planned to replant all of my palms with these pots but in the end decided that this specific model was just a little too small. Measuring in at 14.96 x 12.6 I think it’s just a little too small for any overly large or wide plant and would caution anyone in trying to do so. You risk the pot tipping over and causing a big mess and on a windy day around here at least, that most certainly can and will happen. Plus I believe it would just look too awkward. I decided to plant a smaller jade tree in this one and ended up extremely happy with the result. As you can see with the images provided I think it was a good fit and can definitely say I’m satisfied with the overall design and finish of this product. The concrete-like description seems about right as these products do seem to be very solid and durable with the appearance of concrete while also weighing much less than traditional material. Solid concrete pots are a real pain to move around and I like having the option of sliding my plants here and there without having to exert too much effort. The majority of the pots I own are plastic which have not held up well in the humid region of the country I live in. They get brittle and crack over time. I can’t say for sure but I do believe the planters from this manufacturer will hold up for a long time if not abused and I do have some older pots that are similar material. One other thing to note is that the finish can be easy to scratch with say a metal potting shovel. Do be careful when putting a plant into this product. All in all I’d say I can recommend this product. The cost for planter pots can be high but I do believe in the end it’s worth instead of going the plastic route. They just do not hold up.

This is a really pretty container. They call it green, but it's more turquoise. The pictures are accurate, as I hoped. I'm really glad it's lightweight because--silly me--I filled it in the backyard when it was going to be placed in the front yard. Duh! Luckily, fully loaded with a layer of rocks in the bottom, a whole big bag of potting mix, and two little Superbells, I was able to pick it up and carry it around to its final resting place. My disappointment in the quality, which then affects the value, is in the finish. It very pretty, hand-applied ombre with a matte finish, rather than the "glazed" pottery look, but it's really fragile. I didn't realize it was getting all scraped up until I managed to scrape it up a little on all sides when I was placing rocks around it. See pictures. After that I had to work to get the best section facing front. (And a lizard already parked inside those rocks and ran across my hand!) Overall, I like the bright color against my white stucco house, and the contrast I was able to create with local sandstone and the pretty little Evening Star Superbells.

These lighter concrete planters keep getting better and better. I own several "real" concrete planters that are all fairly large (<20 gal); I love the way they've aged, and since thery are so heavy they really can't be moved, so I like them where they are (no real choice anymore). Well in the last 2 years I've gotten 3 lightweight concrete planters. As it turns out I filled one with suculents and placed it where there is too much full sun (actually the container get to be over 130 degrees). My poor chioce, but upon realizing the problem I was able to roll/drag the lightweight container about 20' to the left, where the base stays in ths shade. That was all it took (+ moving the drip system) for the plants to again thrive; could have never done this with a real concrete planter. This blue planter holds about the same volume (as my other planter), the planter itself weights less than 10 lbs, it looks like it would weight 50+lbs. The color is a nice gradation from light blue to a darker blue. I suggest a 3-4" lava rock base so that the pot drains properly. The lava rock keeps it light(er) and aids in the drainage more than a small pebble would. I'm really happy with the look of these lighter weight planters, I'm even happier that they now come in various colors besides gray. I will probably get a 'mate' for this planter, it seems very solid, only the test of time will tell how well it lasts. I'm expecting 20+ yrs, check back then and I'll let you know if it lasted that long ;-) Seriosuly I do expect it to last that long. I've posted a close up of the planter so you can better see the colors.

This is an extremely beautiful planter. It is quite lightweight despite being concrete. The colors are nice it fades towards the bottom. It holds a five gallon plant. We planted a pomegranate plant and it looks gorgeous. It is a wonderful addition to our outdoor garden. We truly have no regrets about getting this planter. The shape is perfect. We can wait until we see the plant bloom in the planter.

Recommendation – Yes ONLY IF item not damaged when delivered Ordered 3 different planters. Two were damaged upon receipt with hairline fractures at the top of the planters. I was really disappointed as I got the impression that these planters were damage resistant and therefore would last. If the claims were true the price was acceptable albeit high. I think the manufacturer did a poor job of providing adequate protective packaging which might have led to shipping damage. Great looking planter with a traditional tulip shape. The dark red fading color from top to bottom gives this planter an upscale look. There are several design details that makes this planter stand out from cheaper replicas. The concrete and fiber composite blend is supposed to ensure a strong long lasting yet lightweight planter, but the damage upon delivery refutes that claim. It does include a drainage hole to ensure your water does not get stale, slimy and smelly which can damage your plant. We acquired both the short and regular versions of these tulip planters to accent our backyard. This particular one is roughly 16 inches high where as the shorter size one is about 12 inches high. Both are about 19 inches wide. We like the larger width as it provides many options for planting from something small and delicate to larger foliage. The smaller one actually arrived undamaged unlike this one that had multiple fractures at the top lip and down the side.

I have quite the collection of outdoor plants and while all of them have held up over the years the majority of the pots that they are in have unfortunately not. The main reason being due to the fact that they are plastic and the fact that I happen to live in one of the most humid parts of the country. So with all that said I am always on the lookout for a new planter and I was Intrigued by this product. Described as having all the advantages of concrete yet weighing much less I can definitely say that right away it’s apparent that this pot is much easier to move around while still seeming to be quite durable. As far as design, finish, and look I couldn’t be much happier. I very much like the red and brownish-black tone as it was applied as well as the overall shape and style of this product. All in all the look and feel is right on the money. I had a fairly large palm that needed a new home and as you can see by the picture provided this pot was a perfect fit. I had no trouble transplanting it into my new planter and sliding it around into the exact position I wanted was a lot easier than it would have been with a solid concrete pot. One very important factor for me was tippage. On windy days I’ll go outside and would sometimes find that one of my palms had tipped over and made a mess. I’ve already had one such day since installing my new pot and am happy to say my plant stayed upright. The design and structure of this product lead me to believe I won't be having such problems anymore. So will it hold up? While I cant say for sure I can say that while the majority of my pots are plastic I do have a few concrete-like one and they for sure have held up for over a decade. No they aren't from this particular manufacturer but I feel confident in saying that this one should hold up just as well. Price is obviously a concern and in general planter pots are never cheap. Much like everything in life you pay for what you get and while you may be paying a bit more here I do think the excellent design, finish and strength make up for it in the end and I would definitely recommend this product.

This is a lightweight and attractive alternative to a ceramic or concrete planter. The outside finish is a hand-painted gradient blue painted matte finish. This is not a glazed, shiny finish you might expect to see on a ceramic planter. Quality of the planter’s interior and the color finish look good. I planted a large cactus in the planter. Because the cactus is heavy, and the planting mix and the planter are light compared to the cactus, it was top-heavy. To prevent the planter from tipping over, I placed a couple of bricks in the bottom of the planter for stability. The cactus won’t need to worry about getting tipped over for a few years. Overall, a good product.

The only reason I am not giving this planter 5 stars for the overall rating is that the one shipped to me is blue, but the one I ordered was red. This has nothing to do with the planter itself, just a shipping error. The blue is pretty but doesn't fit where I had intended to put the planter, so it will go in a different part of my yard. The quality is excellent, and it is a very nice size and a good drain hole in the bottom. I can't wait to get to town so I can buy some chrysanthemums to put in it. Yellow should go perfectly with the blue color of the planter.

Nice looking pot for the patio or garden walls. It is made from a lightweight concrete with a denim blue color. It has an approximately one inch drainage hole in the bottom. The color is a faded denim blue, but is only colored on the bottom with a smattering of the blue coloring on the inside of the pot. This post is one of three that I ordered and all but one arrived intact. I downgraded my rating due to the higher price and lower durability and strength than for comparable pots.

I am extremely blown away by the "lightweight" description. It is seriously lightweight. Not just lighter than concrete, but an object that can be picked up with one hand without any struggle at all. The walls of the planter are a decent thickness, so that I trust it will not fall apart from basic aging and wear from the elements. The colors are nice, and having multiple planters in this set really make for a nice display on the deck.

I agree with other reviews that mentioned a better packing procedure is needed.  I, too, received a planter that was broken with 4 large pieces laying in the bottom of the box.   However, it was quickly replaced and the second one arrived in perfect shape.  The quality of the planter is very good, but shipping without enough padding is a problem.  Maybe  "fragile" on the box would help remind the shippers to handle it more gently as well. This DurX-Litecrete Planter is a nice large size for my Gardenia bush on the patio.  I like a lot of colorful flowers and yard art around my property and this planter adds another vibrant pop of color.  The dark green color around the top of the planter gradually fades to a lighter green hue at the bottom.  Very attractive!   It weighs only about 25 lbs empty and so it is very easy to move to exactly where you want.  There is a pre-drilled drainage hole in the bottom, which is really nice.  Even though it is not solid cement, it still has the important, strong characteristics of cement and will do very well outside and it weighs so much less!    It won't fade or discolor either, so it should look good for years.  This planter is a great alternative to solid cement planters that are permanent once planted.

This is a beautiful pot, very vibrant in color. It is perfect for both indoor and outdoor plants. It easily holds a nice sized plant with room to grow. Perfect for those plants you keep outside in the warm months and bring indoors when the temperature gets too cold to keep outside. It looks beautiful on my covered porch now and will look just as nice inside my home once it gets cold. This is a very sturdy pot, heavier than I had expected. I am very happy with this pot!

I had the opportunity to evaluate this pretty concrete planter. First note is the planter does not ship well. It cracks the edge quite frequently. If you get them in the store you need to check the rim for minute cracks. If no damage is noted these planters are heavy enough to withstand some wind and resist tip over. They have a drain hole and will prevent your planting from root rot. The planter is painted inside and out with vibrant and very pleasing colors. Made from lighter weight concrete these should last longer than cheap plastic planters. I did test one for freezing with soil and water and it withstood the test well but always recommend dumping pots for winter. The company sent me a second set and it also showed shipping damage. it is recommended to buy from store stock only. The planter looks high class compared to others.

At first I was little worried because of its description "lightweight." Obviously I do not want this planter fell every single storm that goes through. Well one of my planter does that. It is light enough to move it around as it fits but it is heavy enough to stand still its color is so pretty and bright. I wonder it will with stand Texas sun but so far so good. It gives color to my backyard
