I set this up last night, it was a little windy and raining, so I didn't really expect much to be in the trap this morning. However, it may be a little difficult to see in the picture, but there are a ton of mosquitos in the trap along with a few moths. I did add on of the small PIC octenol lures into the bottom basket. It seems to work great so far.

I previously had the expensive Mosquito Magnet machines that cost $800-1,000 and this DynaTrap collected as many mosquito's as that did. Locate a shaded area where you predominantly get a lot of mosquito's. Mine was ~25 feet from my front door at the corner of my house near some bushes. I attached an Octenol attractant lure which you can get at HD, to the underside of the trap. So far in <2 weeks the trap has caught hundreds of mosquitos and I've noticed a considerable drop when we walk out our front entrance.

Mounted the Dynatrap on a fence post in the rear of the yard. See first picture. Behind the fenced in area, standing water accumulates in the wooded area after hard rains so mosquitoes are a problem. Live in a suburb of Minneapolis. Also added a PIC Octenol Lure - bought a package of 3, also from Home Depot - and affixed one to the Dynatrap using the clips on the lure and some extra tape. The PIC lure is actually made for another trap - Mosquito Magnet I believe - but with the tape, I was able to mount the lure on the rim of the bottom bin so that the fan pushes out the scent of the lure. I peaked into the trap from time to time to see insects accumulating but waited almost a week to empty it. While there are some moths, the bulk of the catch are mosquitoes with a layer of over an inch deep. See 2nd picture. The trap is about 75 feet from the rear of the house, and mosquitoe bites are already, noticeably lower. Can't speak for the longevity of the unit but this one gets my recommendation. Since I started using the Dynatrap with the PIC Octenol lure - they are not that expensive and each one lasts about a month - I cannot speak to how the Dynatrap would do without the lure, but judging these initial results, I would run the trap with the lure. Was reading good things about propane tank based mosquito magnets but I wanted to avoid the expense and change out task in handling propane. I picked up this unit on a one day Home Depot Special Buy sale so consider me sold!

Right on time at the one year warranty expiration. Lights stopped working even with new bulbs. Fan still works. Waste of money.

Caught a lot of Moths.

Doesn’t work as well as LED Dynatrap. Already had to change light bulbs (they burn out faster than LED unit).

Had one and decided to get a second one for our lower level area. They work great!

This is the 2nd dynatrap I have owned. It seems to work great with mosquitoes.

Was a little skeptical this would work, but living in queens NY i found my mosquito problem EXTREMELY lessened this year, in the past i'd be eaten alive within minutes of wandering around my yard, this year the mosquito reduction is looking 90+% after 3 months of use, I have 2 units on a 60x100 plot and it's exceptional. Really surprised me.

Follow instructions and only trap 2 mosquitoes in 2 weeks.

We compared it with the Costco Dynatrap 1 acre system and it looked like the Home Depot version caught twice and many bugs and the overall design was better.

It’s great for attracting moths, but not so great for mosquitoes. Not impressed for the price!

Excellent product, captures a ton of insects around the yard

First two nights collected hundreds, and I do mean HUNDREDS Of mosquitoes and gnats. I did use the scent packet. Well worth the money

It kills June bugs and moths, we still have a massive misquote problem! We spray the yard every 3 days! Not worth the money

So far it worked well, capturing the mosquitos and moths as described. The fan is a slightly loud but, overall, it's a good trap. I would recommend it.

My unit, which I bought direct from Home Depot, lasted approximately two years before I had problems with the sockets that secure the bulbs. According to the parent company, there are no parts available when a repair is needed. My unit has been trashed.

Replacement for the one that stopped working after 9 years. Also Bought one for my daughter’s new house. They work great.

Doesn't catch any mosquitoes

We were able to use the Dynatrap for about 2 months and felt it was effective. However, after the 2 months, the bulb in the machine died. We wish the bulb had a longer lifespan.

Exceeded expectations

It does a great job of attracting moths and other insects but those aren't my targets. In order to be effective with mosquitos you need to add an attractant. That's not very clear in their advertising. So, you ultimately continue to buy attractants to solve the problem this supposedly solves.
