Way over priced and under performing. Took a week of playing with the on/off switch to get it to turn on. Has been running for a month and has barely caught anything. Will not buy another one. Had the larger trap several years back and it worked well. All of them are flimsily built.

I don’t know how long the dynatrap has been out but I recommended it for all of my friend but I did not own.

It's a bug catcher
It traps a lot of different kinds of bugs that are attracted to light. NOTHING will get all the mosquito's and it's not going to stop mosquito's from getting you. It's more of a gimmick than anything. The light bulb went out after using it for less than 2 months.

Doesn’t work
I tried the Dyna trap in several locations with heavy mosquito activity and left it on for several hours. While I was eaten alive, it only managed one or two small wayward moths. In addition even if it did attract and capture any mosquitoes into the collection area as soon as you open to check or empty the could all escape. There’s nothing to kill them or sticky substances to keep them in there once the power is turn off. I threw it in the trash. Don’t waste your money.

We're sorry to hear about that! If you're worried about insects escaping, we recommend turning off the trap for 48 hours so that the insects can die before emptying it.

The catch base is too wide. I need another person to hold top while use two hands to unscrew the base. Very annoying. It seems to work well in attacking bugs.

I bought (2) 1/2 acre Dynatrap, to my surprise, I was very disappointed. Within 2 weeks the light went out, I did not expect to be replacing a light within weeks of turning the item on. Furthermore, I did not see a lot of insects in the trap. It could be the result of the light that's not working. Now I have to spend extra money to get a light , only to find out if the item is working. Dynatrap should do better. For that matter, their rating is poor. I would not want another customer to experience the samething.

Incompetent
It does not do as it says. Not effective at all. Mosquitoes and bugs hoover around the unit even after changing the bulb. Would not advice anyone to purchase as not only is it expensive and ineffective.

LOUD. LIGHT FAILED FIRST 48 HOURS. DOESNT WORK.
Ordered with Home Depot on line . ...Model DT 1050... 1/2 acre.
When it finally got here. ...hung it up under my patio...The light and motor worked OK..was quiet..could barley hear it running.
After a few days...was very loud ..and noticed light no longer working.
Took down , inspected it....no mosquitos in trap Not one. Only a few small months. Shook it...wiggled power swtich a few times...light then starts working . Not reliable.

Doesn’t work out of Box
Just bought this and was excited to set it up. When I turned it on the light came on but the fan didn’t work. I went on line and multiple videos said the same thing that there was a problem with the fan in this product. Piece of junk and I’m taking it back tomorrow. Surprised Home Depot would carry something that doesn’t work off the bat. Bottom line a bad product.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. Moths and bigger bugs will retain their shape a bit in the trap, while mosquitoes dry up to almost look like pieces of dirt or dust. If you see any specs of this material, then the trap is catching mosquitoes.
We recommend that the traps are placed 20-40 feet away from gathering areas. The traps will be less successful when placed closer to these areas. Sitting near the trap actually makes it MORE likely that insects will find their way over to you, since they may be getting attracted in by the trap and then finding you close by. Great moth killer
I continued to be attacked by mosquitoes while within 30’ of the device. To return it, I opened up the “corpse cup” on the bottom and found maybe 100 moths. No mosquitoes.

Works great, will need to replace bulbs every 4 months.
Great big catcher. Works better w attractant pouch. Bulbs need to be replaced after 4 months. You will see it start to go dimmer. Buy backup bulbs. You will need about 2 per season. Easy to replace, view on Utube.
