Works Well - Minus a couple caveats
I really enjoyed my hp04 hot and cool and was elated to have it for the first month or so. Loved being able to ditch my space heater for one that purifies the air and heats, all with the mighty Dyson name. First thing I started to notice after a month or so was on power level 10 a high pitched ringing noise. I reduced to 9 and it stopped. Now sometimes it's happening at that level too which is annoying. Secondly I wish the air flow was more powerful at the higher settings therefore taking in more air particles and purifying better. Honestly I'm not sure how well it purifies the air because of this. The filters don't seem to get very dirty at all - especially by the time the device alerts me to replace it. I have 2 dogs a cat that are very hairy and old carpet needing replaced that I know is a source of dust and particles. The replacement filters are also very expensive which I wouldn't mind the device performed better over all. I think Dyson is an overpriced "luxury" brand and it is disappointing that at their price points silly little things like this happen.

    Great addition to our lineup
    We have had an HP02 for 3 years and it has been great to us in the master bedroom. We decided to add this HP04 recently for our larger living room. It has met all expectations and then some. The new display and data that it gives you is awesome. Setup with filters and app was easy. This fan came in handy recently during the Texas arctic freeze in Feb 2021. We lost power for 2.5 days and our house got down to 47° inside. We ran the fans off of our 2200 watt generator to keep our room warm. So glad we had these! I don’t understand people giving it bad reviews just because they personally don’t understand technology and get impatient. The no heat control form the app was a surprise to me also, but it’s not a deal breaker. My HP02 still has heat control from the app though. Just use the remote for the HP04...some people are a lil too spoiled lol.

      Severely Disappointed: No More Control from APP
      I have used HP02 for years in an animal room that I need to control completely from the app. I adjust temperature and even switch from hot to cool. I cannot be more disappointed with the inability to do this with the new HP04. I will be returning it.

        I just received defected one and request to exchange it
        please check the following left and right gap between filter and body. I plugged filter tightly and realized that this body of machine is not symmetric. It is not a filter shape problem. I had another same model HP04, it doesn't show asymmetric shape like this obviously. Once get another one with same issues, I will ask to get a full refund.

          Great piece of mind!
          This purifier is amazing! It has a high price tag but I feel like it’s worth it when you consider what you get. First of all it’s bladeless, and as a mom with little children it’s so important to know that they are safe around it. We live in MN so having a little extra heat in the winter never hurts!! I love the app and that I can see the voc’s in my home and how it’s helping to keep them low. We also connected it to our Alexa for more ease of use. My youngest actually bumped against it the other day and I got an alert on my phone stating it detected a fault in the machine. Super cool!

            I am always cold and my husband is always hot, so I was thinking to buy a Dyson hot and cold about a month ago. Then I got this amazing offer to try Dyson Pure hot and cold at no cost for exchanging my honest review. I am really grateful. The Dyson Pure hot and cold is very easy to set up. All you have to do is put the 2 HEPA filters in the machine and plug in. It comes with a remote control and you can download the Dyson Link app as well to turn on/off, changing speedy, check air quality and many other functions. It also turn right, left and tilt up and down.There’s construction going on in my neighborhood, so the air purifier is a big bonus to me. It’s a 3 in 1 machine and you can use it all year around. I use it every day since I got it and love it so much. By the way, the remote control is magnetized to store neatly on top of the machine. You wont lose it and forgot where you left it all the time. Dyson is such a innovation company with the latest technology and beautiful products. I recommend Dyson to my family, friends and everyone.

            Excellent fan for warming small spaces
            Unboxing: Dyson does a great job of packaging responsibly. There is very little plastic throughout. It's mostly recycled cardboard and I really appreciate that I have to throw very little for every Dyson product. Beyond packaging, the device was well boxed and it was easy to find all of the parts. Setup: It was a breeze as you only need to install the charcoal filters. You can be up and running in a few minutes. Construction: Dyson products are mostly plastic. Some see that as a downside but every piece is well-molded and constructed. Despite being plastic, nothing ever feels cheap. The feel and quality of metal without the weight. Remote: We have the fan setup away from where we normally sit or work. The remote houses all of the functions and it works really well. The screen is very easy to read from afar when changing settings. Purifying: Living in a house with three pets, one of which I’m allergic, and I appreciate the filtration. We have the Dyson in our family room where we spend a lot of time and it has helped, at least in small part, with my allergies. Heating and Fan: This is the biggest benefit I see from the Dyson. Our home was built with poor airflow in the basement area. It’s underground on two sides so it gets very cold living in Minnesota in the winter. We’ve tried other heating devices but they are either too noisy or don’t directly heat the areas we want. The fan is quiet and we can easily direct the heat, up to 350 degrees of oscillation, to wherever we are. You can either manually set the direction with no oscillation or you can set it with many choices. I love that whenever you turn it off it always returns back facing to the original position. In addition, you can tilt up or down. I can’t speak to the cooling but the fan on even the lowest setting moves a ton of air. I know I’ll be using it upstairs in the summer months. Final Thoughts: We’ve tried three heaters in our basement. Ceramic, Oil, and now the Dyson. Hands down I would go with the Dyson Hot+Cool. It’s the best combination of directional heat, low noise, and aesthetics. If you have a space in your home that isn’t heated well with your HVAC and/or you have multiple pets, it’s worth the money.

            Best investment I ever made.
            I bought mine in the Fall of 2020 on QVC, and it’s the best investment I ever made. I have asthma and it has helped to purify the air during some of the worst times of the day especially where I live, which is on a major Boulevard, with exhaust fumes permeating into the house from all the traffic. It’s still working beautifully after three years. I’ve had no issues with it. I was without heat in my house two years ago, after my basement flooded and it warmed up the whole apartment. I don’t have to turn up the heat yet because the heat setting is making it very comfortable in here. Great product!!

              You can’t use the app to control heating and dyson prevents you from using a 3rd party remote to program the heat. If you lose the tiny remote it comes with you can’t turn on the heat and you’re basically left with a glorified fan.

                Disappointed! Nothing exept a great design
                I wish the product is what's being advertised, but it's far from that. It's clearly showing that the product is cooling + heating and purifying which is NOT. If you think that cool air will come out from the machine to cool you, forget about it. This is just a air blowing fan and nothing else. I bought one a fe days ago and wanted to buy 3 more for each floor thinking it will do the job, but end-up planning to return this one to the store. My wife is very disappointed as she was the one to push me to buy it. I bought a vacuum cleaner to see if this product will do a better job. I bought a few more products of yours bought last week and will test the rest (haid dryer) to see if it's worth it to keep. Sorry, I'm just being honest.

                  Fan Breaks Down Easily
                  3 months into having this product, the Dyson exclamation mark from hell appeared and the product stopped working. I had the product exchanged for a new one. A little after 2 years, the exclamation mark again appeared and because it was a little outside of the warranty, I now have a hunk of junk that I cannot do anything with. Dyson customer service had a great solution idea - purchase a brand new one. Yeah, sorry - this product is basically an expensive rental. Steer clear of this one.

                    I bought this because it had all the bells and whistle. It can cool, heat and purify. It's expensive like any Dyson. I have the Dyson V11 so I figure this should be good quality. This would run then stop. It would have an exclamation mark with no info as to what the issue is. For it to work, you have to unplug it. My wife talked to Dyson and they said it's a known issue but never stated what it was. We did a warranty replacement but the new one had the same issue. It happen twice on the new one and I decided to return it. My cordless Dewalt didn't have such issue and it's one sixth the cost. I gave it 3 stars for the features and blade less design. Other than that it's not worth the money.

                      Our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air.

                      It makes noise
                      Noisy Dissapointment We were so happy to try this. It started off good and kept the heat but then we noticed a high squealing noise. I followed the manual and unplugged it, replaced filters, cleaned the unit. It would work for a small while then go back to the high squealing noise. I contacted support and they just email me the same troubleshooting steps even after I have already told them these things. It is still noisy.

                        I got this machine mostly thinking I would use it during the winter months to help kick the chill out of our living room due to it being so open and having high ceilings it can be cooler than the rest of the home. I fell in love with all the features so quickly, this machine is a year round piece of art/furniture in my living room! The ability to switch to cool in the warmer months ensures year round use, and having the option to have the air flow through the rear of the machine vs the front can keep it from blowing directly at you or your guests while still keeping the air CLEAN! The machine also has a tilt feature which is great when I want to push some air up vs just straight out of the front or back. The connectivity is too convenient! Being able to remotely control all of the functions through the app, down to the exact portion of the swivel is beyond amazing! The ONLY con for me is I purchased the white HP04 and though it matches better in different areas of my home I think the nickel would have been a better option for helping hide dust. After all it is pulling all of the dust and odors into its filters so it is expected, just something to think about before choosing what color you will get if you have a particular dusty atmosphere.

                            APP is lacking
                            I received my Dyson HP04 yesterday after doing a lot of online research. Got it set up, registered and downloaded the app. I got this for the heater mainly and it works great and is very quiet. I am sorely disappointed that the app does not allow you to turn on or adjust the heat function remotely, one of the main reasons I was so excited about this product. Nowhere in the literature online or in the manual is this made clear, so be forewarned. I'll probably be sending it back since I bought it to heat a basement office and was looking forward to not having to climb the stairs to heat the room up in the mornings.

                              Connectivity Issues
                              Wished it worked perfectly out of the box. The connection issues the HP04 has with WIFI & the Dyson Link app seems to date back 2 years with older models. Spent an hour troubleshooting, now I have to wait a few days before I can get technical support.

                                Good, but an energy HOG
                                I actually own two of these units. I bought one for a bedroom because the building I live in has a dated electric baseboard radiator that is very bad and very slow at heating the room. Plus it drives up my electric bill in the winter to astronomical levels. I also wanted to replace an air purifier and the Dyson seemed to encompass all that I would need in one unit. I really like how the remote works on my phone (although since I live in CA, some things cannot be controlled via the app, like turning on the heat). The design is slick, and it is fairly quiet. I liked it so much, I decided to buy another one for my kids bedroom. They are always complaining of feeling cold because the radiator in their room isn't very effective. That's when my problems started. I realized, after tripping the circuit breaker a half dozen times, that these units draw a LOT of power. So much so, that I can't run both at the same time. I actually can't even run one with any other appliance, like the vacuum cleaner (also a Dyson), or the microwave, etc. So we have two but can only use one at a time. I don't love this. My advice to the company is to make these devices more power friendly.

                                  Not good for bedroom heater
                                  This unit really is great to filter the air. And, when using as a fan, is fairly quiet. However, when using as a heater, it doesn’t matter what fan speed setting, it comes on very loudly at full speed, blows warm air, speed slowly decreases, then shuts off. Every time the noise wakes us up. It would be much better to have a constant fan speed and variable heat output to match the temperature setting, but it just doesn’t work that way. So, can’t use as a heater in my bedroom.

In heat mode, the machine will heat the room to the temperature set on the machine. Once the room reaches that temperature, the machine cuts off. This is even moreso in auto mode, where the machine cuts off when the temperature is met and the target purification is met. If you would like to heat to run continuously, we recommend setting it to a higher heat.                                     Exceeded expectations!
                                    My room is always the coldest in the house as it sits above the garage and New England winters can be brutal! I bought this heating and cooling fan after having a great experience with the TP04 tower fan in the summer. The HP04 is quick to heat a room and disperses the heat evenly with its air multiplier technology. I love that you can set the temperature and schedule the fan. The filtering technology is great as always and I love seeing the insights into the air quality in my room.

                                      I want to love it, but it's too noisy
                                      I love the technology and design that went into this device. It's simple, intuitive, modern and can be programmed to your preferences. However, with all the thought that went into this, I'm incredibly disappointed that one of the most critical aspects of a fan-based device is that it needs to be whisper quiet. Not only does it create a ton of air turbulence at moderate fan speeds (and I wouldn't mind a light whoosh), it also emits a headache-inducing motor whine that is unbearable even at the lowest fan speed. And I live in NYC, so I can clearly hear it over all the city noise.

We're glad to hear that you've been so impressed with the technology behind our HP04. Dyson Pure Hot + Cool purifying fans have been designed to deliver a powerful stream of cooling or heated, purified air from the front of the machine. Dyson Pure Hot + Cool units will also offer the option to divert air through the rear annular at a 45˚ angle, creating a more diffused airflow. Also, thanks to the 350 degree oscillation, Dyson Pure Hot + Cool purifying fans can be used to help project purified air around the whole room and may be used to deliver heated and purified air to every corner of the room. Airflow angles can also be customized using the remote control or Dyson Link app. You will also have the option of a Night mode which will use the machines quieter settings, reducing airflow speeds to range from 1 to 4. Night mode will also dim the display and the machine will run more quietly, making it ideal for use while sleeping. I'm also happy to share that you may customize Night mode settings in the Dyson Link App. We're sorry to hear that your motor has begun to make a whining noise.                                         High pitched whirring noise
                                        Overall, this product is great in theory — love that it's a purifier, heater, and fan in one. During wildfire season in California when the air was smoky, this was helpful to clear the indoor air of smoke particles. However, when the fan is on a low setting (I think particularly when it's in heating mode), it makes a high-pitched whirring noise. You can try resetting the machine and it might help temporarily but goes right back to the high-pitched noise that is pretty unbearable. It started pretty soon after I purchased, and I tried living with it for a while but it's pretty bad. Now I am trying to get a replacement through warranty but apparently they are out of stock and can't replace it. For such an expensive product, this is very disappointing.
