I'll start with the positive: The model is very light, great for someone with a bad back who will be blowing for extended periods of time. The blower started right up right out of the box, was easy to use and was a lot more quiet than my older Echo. It also had a full pad for your back unlike the $300 model. The downside was that it just couldn't push the leaves once they piled up to approximately a foot or so across the yard. This blower is only good for blowing into piles for pickup, for small yards, yards without many trees, grass clippings, etc. I was very disappointed as I loved everything else about it as mentioned above. I was also perplexed because my old PB300E which had similar specs, 157 mph and 328 cfm, blew those leaf walls right to the back of the yard. The only thing I could surmise on my own, since the ECHO customer service rep had no clue, was that the older model had smaller diameter piping. You would think that 25 years later they would have figured out how to make a lighter weight blower with more power. To end, I just returned the unit today and have no clue as to what model to purchase now. I was trying to avoid the heavier units at 22 to 23 pounds versus this one which was 13.3. I am going to miss my 25 year old ECHO which was 16 pounds and blew like crazy.

Purchased this at the end of last season. It's a work horse. Used it a total of ~20 times without issue. Had an issue last weekend where the engine began to sputter and the unit stalled. Brought it into the Home Depot location in Marlboro and was told that there was a 30 day window for returns on power equipment (with gas engines). Was about to begin a battle when the nice lady at customer service recommended that I go see "Frank' over in tool rentals and that they could likely help me. Frank and Enrico pulled the unit behind the desk on the spot and did a full blown diagnostic/ service. Changed the gas, cleaned the filters, etc- all in about 5 min. Started right up and runs better than new. They even gave me tips on gas/ oil mixing and gas storage. Frank and Enrico are the real reason for the review because that level of service is something I have not seen in some time. Made me respect brick and mortar and HD in general a lot more. Great team- these guys are mechanical magicians.

I picked this up today for 55% off because it was a refurbished unit at Home Depot. I was going to pay $250 plus for a backpack blower and this one had been returned and discounted. I brought it home, filled it with mixed gas, primed it, and it cranked on the first pull! It doesnt have the blowing force that I expected from a backpack blower, but it had more than enough to blow 3 feet of wet leaves into a pile for mulching later. The best feature is that it is quiet compared to most units of the same design. With it being Christmas eve, I am sure the neighbors appreciated the low-noise. I would recommend this purchase for home owners with under an acre of yard. Love it!

  • Light and Handy Blower

While not up to professional-grade power or features (or price!) this lightweight backpack blower is a fine choice for the homeowner. It produces sufficient power to do most yard blowing chores yet is comfortable and easy to start. If you are tired of walking around with a blower dangling from your hand this is a great product with quality built-in.

I bought this for my apartment complex and it is perfect. It is not to loud to make residents mad and has the perfect amount of power to blow out my breeze ways and to blow off my streets.

Pros Good Size & Weight, Light Weight Cons could have just a tad bit more power.

This blower has taken a beating over the past 2 seasons. We keep it in the back of my truck during all weather and conditions during the season. After properly being winterized last October it fired up on the 4th pull beginning this season. Overall a good blower, the problems is that as it ages it gets less and less power, but at this point still enough to us practically. Having the throttle separate from the tube handle is a great design, and using other blowers you realize how nice it is Also this blower puts very little fatigue on youre back which helps in the long run.

Pros Durable, Great Engine, Easy to Store, Light Weight, takes a beating Cons loses power over time

  • I was doubtful

I was somewhat doubtful that a leaf blower of this size would do the job. I have artificial grass in my front and back yard that get covered with pine needles. The electric blower I was using would not move the needles that were in bedded in the lawn, this one does the job. I was looking for a blower that was light to carry for my old back, at about 13 lbs. this is easy on me. I decided to buy this from HD because of the thirty day return policy, if it did not work I could return and get the next size bigger. I have used it several times and very pleased with the fuel consumption. Regarding the fuel, I use the pre-mixTrufuel also from HD, check it out, worth the money.

  • Echo blower

Love the look and weight of this blower, but it does not have the power to move the leaves as I expected. I ended up using the yard rake more than the blower. Bought this as a gift for my daughter and son-in-law and he was happy to get it. Plan to buy a more powerful one as soon as finances allow.

blower is very lite weight and easy to operate. i would only add some way to put unit on and then be able to start it rather than having to start it before putting it on.
