[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this garbage can!! Hands full, no big deal, wave your hand, your knee over the sensor and it will open for you!! Kids always forget to close the lid, no need to worry anymore. Lid stays open for just long enough to throw something in, give it a second and it closes on its on. Very easy to set up, simply install batteries and good to go. Batteries were the only down fall I could find with this can. In today's rechargeable world, rechargeable would be awesome! Great product either way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received the Horizon Motion Sensor trash can. This stainless steel trash can look great in my kitchen. It's not too big or too small, so it fits perfectly in the corner. I like the touch buttons that open and close the lid slot. My only concern is that it takes six AA batteries. I'm not sure if I bought the wrong ones are not. The lid is supposed to have this wave your hand feature, that's what makes it touch free. For some reason it doesn't work. I'm going to try different batteries to see if that helps. Other than that I really like it. It also has an on and off switch beneath the lid .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Top two things i like about this trash cans is the Stainless Steel color. 2nd thing is completely touchless operation. Once you have included the 6 required AAA batteries for the trash can then it works seamlessly in fully touchless mode. Just wave near it and the lid opens like magic. Once you are done putting trash in it just walk away and it closes the lid in few seconds. I Love It! I do recommend it.

It is great. Love everything about it.

So convenient!! I used to think a trash can with a sensor was unnecessary, but it's great when your hands are dirty and/or holding things. My previous trash can had a very dirty cover because of this, or I needed to put down whatever I was holding, remove the lid, and then throw it out and put the lid back on. I've had it for maybe a month, and I'm pretty pleased with it.

Like the motion sensor open and close. Just wish the inside wasn’t as narrow. Overall I like it.

this can is awesome. bought it 6 months ago. dimensions and design are great, bag fits perfectly, it is quiet, the sensor has just the right sensitivity range so it opens when you want it to and not when you just walk by or whatever. there are buttons to open or close manually when needed (like if you need it to stay open awhile). when closed, it prevents any garbage odor from escaping. easy, efficient, sleek. it has seriously improved my life!

It was only a few months before the lid wouldn't work at all. I called and went thru all the troubleshooting and they decided it was defective and sent me a new one. It didn't take but a couple of months before that one was doing the same thing. I called the EKO company back and was told I needed to provide a receipt, which was odd because they didn't ask this the first time. Not sure why they think I would call requesting a lid if I hadn't purchased the trash can but I went thru the trouble of getting a copy of the receipt from the store and emailed it to EKO (I dont keep transcan receipts from months ago or any receipts for that matter unless its a major purchase). I was then told the replacement was not under warranty even though the original trashcan was warrantied for a year. I would have to pay $10 for shipping for a replacement lid. I shouldnt have to pay extra because their product is defective. They should of sent me one that worked the first or second time. I doubt buying another one would resolve the issue for any longer than a few months anyway. These are just defective and the customer service is poor. I even asked to speak to a manager and the manager was just as nonchalant. They were rude and simply didn't care that they are selling products that aren't lasting but a few months.

We have had an iTouchless for over 10 years and replaced the lid once. When it was time to replace the lid again we looked at other brands. The EKO has exceeded our expectations! Quiet, slimmer but still same capacity, and ability to leave it open or close it with the touch of a button. I would definitely recommend this one!

This Horizon 45L Motion Sensor Trash can has the automated lid and it was a great deal, this can looks great and works great. You can wave over the sensor to open the lid, or there is a button on the front of it to open the lid and keep it open. The lid does a great job of holding any odors in while its closed. This can is very stylish and fits in with any decor, or you can stick it in the pantry, out of the way, either work just fine. Standard kitchen bags are used so that's a plus also. The stainless washes well, no smears or smudges when you wipe it down. Battery last a long time in the top, haven't them yet and have had it for a while.

It requires 6 AA batteries if you want the sensor to automatically lift the lid to open and close by itself. I definitely recommend it to everyone, even my kids are way more encouraged to throw the trash in its place.

I bought 2 cans for inside a closet. Both fit nicely inside. The sensor works fine for opening, but cover will not auto close. I believe it is sensing the shelf above the unit. So the "Motion sensing" is a misnomer. Can only use manual mode.
