This is the unit on the right in the picture below. Not installed yet. The unit appears well made. I preferred a clear canister but the mounting bracket for this unit allowed for precise positioning. You can mount the bracket and then attach the unit via 4 mounting screws on the top. And since it will hold the carbon filter I figured being clear not as important as being able to see the particle filter. I used a Sharkbite to ease replacement should it be necessary in the future. The instructions are not the best I've seen, having to filter through 3 languages in the same paragraph.

Great value! Does what we needed to filter sediment. No smelly water either.

The assembly of this unit is not easy - no assistance in centering the filter cartridge in the canister. Also, the mounting of the filter head is awkward - very difficult to get at the screws when trying to place it under a counter. Lastly, placement of the pressure bleed button is awkward, again as the head is pretty close to the underside of the counter top material, in a normal kitchen install.

I purchased 3 of these to create an under sink filtration system. Cheaper than buying a system. 2 out of the 3 leaked around the red air release valve. I cycled them quite a few times to see if they would seat properly. They did not. I had purchased these several months earlier and didn't want to go through the process of returning them and maybe getting more bad ones. I ran up to HD and bought a bag of stainless pan head 8-32 x 3/4 inch screws and a bag of stainless 8-32 nylon locking nuts. Took apart the original valves, replaced the screw and red button with the locking nut. I tightened completely down. Problem solved. Too bad they leak right out of the box, but they are the cheapest I have found.

using the hose connections I am using the filter system to maintain my indoor garden and outdoor garden to improve water quality. So far it is working fantastically.

This seems to be a quality water filter housing. I already have three heavy duty DuPont whole house water filter cartridges hooked up inline on my water service tubing so I used this as an under cabinet water filter in my kitchen so as to further clean my well water. I've used many different brands of water filters over the years and this is the first EcoPure filter housing I've used. I don't use the pressure release button as it's been my experience that, regardless of the brand, the pressure release buttons never work properly, always allowing water to lead around the button. Perhaps you will not have that particular problem with this filter housing but I don't want to take the change of having to remove it and replace it. I can recommend this product to anyone looking for an effective manner in which to filter household water. I received this product in exchange for an honest review, which I have provided.

I purchased this filter housing to install in place of the "refrigerator cartridge" style filter. My filter was in the basement, so this housing, with it's built in mounting bracket and standard size replacement filter size looked good. I purchased two 3/4 to 1/2 reducer bushings to accommodate 1/2 threaded to 1/4 push in tubing adapters. I have been neglectful of replacing the "refrigerator" type filters, so hopefully I can replace these on a reasonable schedule and not when the system delivery rate is almost nil. .

I wanted this whole home water filter for a purpose it may have not been designed for but considering the cost of water softeners I thought I would give it a try. The municipal water supply where I live is very hard producing lots of lime and calcium buildup and I am hoping this might eliminate at least some of it. I have not had it installed long enough to tell yet but I can say the installation is simple. Just screw the top of the filter housing to a support. I used a floor joist. Connect your cold water supply line to the top. I used sharkbite fitting designed for water filters and the connections were quick and easy. Drop a filter into the lower housing and screw it to the upper housing. Turn the water on and done. Time will tell if it helps with my problem.

First off you do need to have a little plumber knowledge to install this filter. The instructions are good and it worked well with the PVC piping I have in my home. The quality is average as it is lightweight and I hope it lasts for a long time. I could definitely tell the difference in the water quality after about a week after I installed. The water was cleaner and did taste better. I good lower priced home water filter that does the job.

Great price, does the job. Half the price of the main house GE unit and does the job nicely. Easy to mount, sharkbite pipe and fittings make plumbing a 1/2 hour job once you find a good mounting place. Takes the most common filler size so unlimited options. Canister removal tool included in case you over tighten the housing. I recommend a little o-ring lube when you change out the filter and the o-ring will last a very long time.

This unit was very easy to install in my house. I mounted a piece of 2 x 4 wood on the wall to secure this unit to. i wanted to make sure that when I go to replace the filters, I do not have any problem with the unit twisting and cracking my pipes. Three things that surprised me with this filter are one, there is not a clear filter cover, so you can see how much sediment is built up in it. Two there isn't a tool included to remove the filter cover. Three there is not a shut off valve built into the unit to make it easier to change the filters.

This is a well built unit. Looking on the box you will see the unit mounted to a wall. I took it a step further, I tap conned a 2 by 10 pressure treated board for extra support for the unit. This gave me extra room to use the spanner wrench. A suggestion is to mark the counter clock wise arrow on the top of the unit. Yes, I am guilty of trying to tighten when I really wanted it off.

I have an artesian well which has minerals in the water, therefore, a whole home water filter is a great way to remove these minerals, which I have been told are harmless. It is very inexpensive, a great item at a low price. I think the filters also do a great job, so overall, I think this filter is an inexpensive way to filter the water in your home.

This is a single filter whole-house water filtration unit. Construction is molded pvc material. It uses 2" x 10" filters which are available in many configurations for specific applications. For example; carbon filtration for taste and odor control or plain string-wound for filtration of suspended particulate matter. Time for installation of the unit will vary with the field conditions. My installation took about 3 hours and involved installing shut-off valves before and after the unit in addition to rerouting the water lines to an area readily accessible for filter replacement. There was no canister removal tool included with the unit, which would be desirable if the canister removal requires more hand force than the homeowner can exert. The instruction page lists a tool available separately for this model. The canister should only be installed hand-tight to avoid leakage around the O-ring seal. There is a pressure-release button on top of the unit which facilitates removal to replace the filter. The frequency of the filter replacement will be dependent upon the purity of the water source. Well water generally has more suspended particulate matter than public water sources and therefore requires more frequent filter replacement. There are no adapter fittings included with the unit as this is dependent on field conditions. The unit is set up to receive standard 3/4" pipe thread fittings. The unit is mounted to the wall through supplied holes in the housing.
