This sink replaced a double-bowl sink that had the same footprint - no need to alter or replace the countertop. The single bowl is such an improvement to function for full size pans, serving trays, bowls, pots, etc. allowing them to be rinsed or hand washed with ease (interior bowl dimensions are 31½” x 20½”). The insulation works well to deaden any noise particularly when using the garbage disposal. The crate not only protects the sink surface, it doubles as a drying rack. The slope & subtle design of the sink allows for ease of draining & cleaning. A massive improvement to function with beautiful modern styling.

My wife has wanted this sink for a while now and she loves her new big sink. It’s a great price and made of good quality stainless steel. It was easy for me to install and I would definitely recommend this sink to my family and friends we are happy we got this one.

This sink is deep! Replaced an old cast iron sink that was chipping badly and I didn't realize how much space the old one took up. I love the dropped shelf for the faucet, it keeps the water in the sink and not on my countertop. Left side is large (16x19") enough for a 9x13 baking dish or cookie pan to sit flat in the sink.

Clean professional look! Brushed looking stainless, vertical walls for maximum footprint at the base, sound deadening panels, and the nifty dropped ledge for single-hole-faucet, soap, and a dish washer air gap...perfection! Even came with the counter cutting template right in the box.

I purchased this 5-Hole Single Bowl Elkay sink because in my research about sinks, I found out that Elkay manufactures its products in USA. I also read in one of the previous reviews that the sink is made in USA. I try very hard to spend my hard earned money on U.S manufacturing and not on things from China. See attached photos for sink and the bottom grid. Both are made in China. The sink has a stamp on the side saying made in China. Elkay wants customers to pay a lot of money ($331) for imported lower quality, inferior stainless steel products from China. I am disappointed and plan to return the sink.

We purchased this sink based on the specifications shown on the Home Depot website, "premium stainless steel for lasting beauty and performance". This sink was part of an entire kitchen remodel which included the lacquer spray painting of our island, and the installation of a new quartz counter top, over $13,000 in remodeling expense. The FIRST time we used this sink, we washed up a few plates, utensils and one small pot. When we drained out the dish water soap, we were SHOCKED to see deep scratches in the bottom of the sink! This was just from washing a 2 plates, 2 glasses, 2 forks and a pot! I immediately contacted Home Depot Customer Care as well as Elkay customer service. Home Depot responded that the Elkay is responsible for resolving the problem. Elkay responded that they don't see this as a defect and that the "scratches" will eventually blend in! In the almost 49 years of living in homes with many, many stainless sinks, I have never seen a sink scratch like this, especially at the first use! Since then, we are also noticing brown spots on the bottom of the sink (under the sink protectors we have since purchased). We seldom leave dishes in the sink and we have no idea where these brown, almost rust like spots, are coming from. This sink has significantly detracted from the beauty of our kitchen remodel, not to mention, we had hoped to sell our home next year and it is obvious that this is not a "durable" nor "lasting beauty" product. We will continue to pursue our options for a resolution, but when seeing the scratches from the first use, I was in tears. I do not recommend this product at all.

Its huge! Even the countertop installer couldn't believe it. It's so quiet when water hits it and dishes. You don't hear metal vibrations. Seems like it was easy to install. After ordering I didn't know it didn't come with a predrilled hole for facet. I looked online and saw the predrilled sink that was $65.00 more. So far I am very happy with my sink!

Great product and excellent quality

This is the most beautiful undermount kitchen sink I have ever seen. That may sound like an over the top endorsement for this Elkay Crosstown sink but it is well deserved. First, this is a much larger than average kitchen sink. A standard drop-in, self-rimming sink found in many kitchens has bowl dimensions of 15.75” x 21” x 8” deep. It is often fabricated from 20 ga, or thinner, 304 stainless steel and makes for a perfectly serviceable sink. This Crosstown is a whole other animal. This has a bowl that measures 16” x 30.5” x 10” deep. It is made from 16 ga 304 stainless steel. To put that in perspective, 16 ga is TWICE as thick as 20 ga sheet metal. You will feel the difference when you pick it up as it weighs just under 30 lbs. Unlike most sinks that have a few small squares of sound dampening pads glued to the underside and then the surface gets a coat of a rough, sprayed on material, this Crosstown’s underside has huge dampening pads in addition to a heavy coat of sound dampening material that is smooth to the touch. When you tap on this sink’s sides or bottom the only sound is a dull thud, not a tinny ring. Another way to envision the size of this single bowl sink is that it is about the same size as a standard 33” double bowl sink but without the center divider. Large full sized cookie sheets easily fit flat into this sink for soaking and washing. The 10” depth gains an additional 1” - 1 1/4” (the thickness of your countertop) since it is an undermount installation. This extra depth allows for the use of an optional bottom rack which will keep items off the bottom of the sink. Elkay makes a custom fitted one available as an accessory. The tight radius corners and straight sides not only maximize the usable space within this sink but it looks and feels modern and high end. As far as cleaning I have found that it is no harder to keep clean than my old Elkay Lustertone drop-in sink with the big curved corners and bottom. The drain is set a bit more towards the rear of the sink in an effort to free up some space in the sink base cabinet. There are a couple of creases in an X pattern on the sink’s bottom to aid in draining, according to Elkay. I don’t know if it does or doesn’t help but it does add to the overall look of a high quality sink. I am thrilled with my new sink in my newly remodeled kitchen. At $400.00 it is not inexpensive. But for the quality you get it is a great value. When you see it and use it you will know where those additional dollars went. Elkay provides a limited lifetime warranty and Home Depot has a 90 day return policy. It is made with pride in the USA.

This sink comes packed in a secure box with the clips and template (if needed) to install it. Size wise it is deep and large enough to hold good size pots and pans. The only problems I had was with installation, given the size of the sink and the size of standard cabinets, it offered very little wiggle room to get the clips in. If dropping it in to an existing counter, it should be fairly easy, I installed it into a new counter top so the template came in handy. One of the things I noticed is that since there is no slope or rounded corners/ edges that water will stand on the flat surfaces on the top. As long as the there is a proper seal on the sink, there shouldn't be any problem with damage occurring to the counter top. Other than that the sink looks good and the racks are functional as well.

The sink will eventually be a beautiful addition to my kitchen that I am currently remodeling, although I'm currently working on getting the floor replaced, so it won't be installed until after I order new countertops. It came promptly and was packaged very nicely as to prevent damage during shipping. As soon as you open the package, you'll see that they also include a cardboard installation template for cutting your countertop. Installation instructions are included as well. The sink feels solid and well built. The finish is brushed stainless with what I would say is more of a matte finish (not too shiny), it looks very nice. I am very happy with the modern look of the sink and I guess only time will tell how well it resists scratches and how the finish lasts. It was also available in 2 or 3 hole models, depending on the additional fixtures you plan to add (sprayer, soap dispenser, etc), but I have already purchased a touch activated faucet that requires only one hole and decided to go with a clean look with no other options. I figured if I change my mind before installation, I could always have the additional holes cut, but I doubt it. I will update my review at a later time if it allows me.

The Elkay Crosstown undercount sink is high quality and attractive. The 33-inch size is spacious but not so large as to look out of proportion to my 38-inch sink base cabinet and surrounding cabinets. I selected the heavier 16-gauge stainless steel version and am very pleased with its sound dampening. It’s only been in use for about one month but I don’t foresee any issues. My only surprise was that the drain included as part of the kit doesn’t accommodate a disposal. That information should have been more prominently stated. Fortunately, I had saved the old drain which the plumber was able to reuse. The cost to reposition the pipes for the offset drain was anticipated and well worth it. The offset design allows dirty pots and dishes to remain in the sink without blocking the drain. Plus, the disposal is now situated towards the back of the cabinet, freeing up more storage space under the sink.

Center divider same height as sink. If water goes on divider it runs on the floor. If you fill one side to over fill it goes to the floor. And after just a few days use. Even with bottom protecting rack, scratches appeared. Very disappointed.

I love this single compartment sink!

The slim rim is a good look and is easily cleaned. The extra depth is convenient for hand washing larger dishes and pots. The backing adds a sturdiness and muffles sound.

A great looking sink, large enough for big cooking pots and pans and easy to maintain.
