I just bought a home, got my kitchen set up, and was ready to cook my first real meal. Some circus sideshow performers I know were going to be passing through town. I was all set to host my first dinner party in my new place. I even had a great table I scored at a resale shop...but no chairs. The quest for chairs began mere hours before my guests were scheduled to arrive. I tried a few places but all of the chairs I could find were either ugly, expensive, or both. With time pressing, I was also concerned about having time to assemble them. The aesthetic of my place leans towards raw wood. After checking a few places, I saw these folding wood patio chairs and decided they'd look great at my dining room table. Recognizing that I'm using these chairs in a role slightly other than that for which they were intended, they still serve well. They look good, made of some (presumably) Vietnamese hardwood with an oiled finish. They match a rustic sort of interior. They are less vertical than most dining room chairs, the back slants back more like...well, like a patio chair. I have not found this to be a problem at the dinner table. These chairs offer a few advantages in the role I chose. First, they were very affordable. When you need six chairs in a hurry, the price adds up. With these it wasn't too bad. Second, they're attractive. All too often, needing something in a hurry means living with some ugly kibble forever after. Not these. They've got a simple, classic look of raw wood with an oiled finish. Third, they're reasonably stable (some others I checked out elsewhere were shaky/wobbly), and feel well-built. I'm 6'5" tall, weigh about 270lbs, and they support my weight just fine. Fourth, they come assembled, so if you buy them last minute like I did, no need to spend time putting them together. The chairs fold easily to store out of the way when not needed. This is good of course for patio chairs that are going to winter in the garage. In my case, the folding feature matches my table. It's a 64" round table that seats six, but expands radially to 80", like a blossoming wooden flower, to seat twelve. So, down the road, I'll invest in six nice, fixed, dining chairs, and these folding chairs will store out of the way, doing double duty as patio chairs or backup dining chairs. I can't speak how they will weather, as I don't use them outside. The directions state that they should be oiled periodically, like any raw wood. I'll probably hit them with some linseed or tung oil after a while. They also serve just fine as seating at our weekly D&D games.

No assembly required and the chairs appear to be very sturdy and designed well to hold up outdoors, but we'll see how it goes this winter!

surprisingly well built and a great price for the pair, had to order as stores were out. They are well oiled which saves a step - let them air dry in the sun a day just to be sure they're dried out.

I was looking for chair that could be be used around a table of outdoor dining. I wanted something that could take kids and adults, and during the winter could be folded and stored. This chair can be used for additional seating in the house if you had a lot of company and is more comfortable than the typical metal folding chair.

Love these chairs. Price well and durable. Look great inside or outside of my home.

The chairs are very nicelymade and beautiful. A bit uncomfortable, however. We put cushions on the seat and back, which makes it difficult to fold and store.

These chairs are well constructed, with solid hardware. Heavier than I thought but because of the weight they are very sturdy. They have nice rubber pads on the legs so they will not scratch your deck. Fold up easily for storage.
