I’m a finish carpenter and have seen a resurgence of wainscoting and board & batten requests. I use 2” staples which seat the panels best into drywall and covers the knockdown plaster finish. It doesn’t blast through the panels as smaller sencos do.

I am a hobbyist and not a pro. I had a project where I needed a heavier gauge of staples with a wider crown then my 18 gauge I currently own. After shopping around I got this one.
First the company Freeman has excellent customer service. The first one I got was giving me jams on 1" spotnails staples. The ones sold here at HD for this gun. And jams are hard to clear on this gun. The front is difficult to remove and the jam doesn't just push out the front easily so its like a 5 minute thing to get it cleared and back working again. So I called the company and they sent me out a new gun. While waiting for the new gun I worked on something else using 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 staples which while having a few jams worked somewhat decent. Note that every now and again I would go back to the 1" staples to see if it was a breakin issue. No dice.
New gun arrives and same thing. These 2 guns just seem to hate spotnails 1" staples. I actually think its a design defect as you can see from the photos nothing provides support as the staples get pushed in and smaller staples don't have the glue to keep them on track. Again spotnail 1-1/4 and a no-name 1-1/2 staples basically work fine
Be aware that I am comparing this stapler to my 18 gauge stapler, my 16 gauge brad nailer, and my 21 degree framing nailer. None of these ever gives me any issues and I can count the jams on 1 hand after using them for years. I oil them before each use and give them a shot of wd40 on the rails about once a month or so.
At this point I'm not sure if I will be keeping this brand or returning it to HD and paying another $100 for a bigger name brand. I haven't had a need to use this size staple very often but that is changing so I want to keep this size in my toolbox. Maybe the company will respond to this review on the photos and the 1" staple. My HD order# is WD56038561

I needed a nailing gun for attaching cedar shakes. The cedar shake association rec. either hand nailing or using a narrow crown stapler (with stainless steel staples- got them at HD too). I did not want to spend a lot of money for a stapler I might use just a few times. I've installed app. 400 sq. ft. of cedar shake with this gun. Shot approximately 2,00 staples with no misfires, or jams. This gun is easy to load to load and operate. I found that the easiest was to assure flush nailing was to keep pressure consist at 90 psi.
Very happy with how well this tool did it's job. I maybe a few small mistakes, but I'll never tell.

I used this for the first time this past weekend on a set of gates I’m building. I wanted the 16 gauge staples because of the 2 inch capacity. The gun is great the only problem I have is that HD doesn’t have 2” staples so I’ve settled for 1 1/2”.

Love the gun. It is light and compact. The unit hold a large amount of staples and I like the directional air vent. It allows you to be in any position and not have your face blown off by the air vent.

Consistently kept firing 2 or 3 staples at same time requiring pulling or hammering down the extra staples in the sub floor plywood. Adjusting the air pressure did not help.Takes longer to complete the job than it should, and would consider other options next time.

Jammed at 50 staples and firing pin holder will not reseat.
Out of the box, less than 50 staples later into soft wood, it jammed and pushed the firing blade holder out. Will not go back in.
Taking it back to get a real stapler from a brand name.

Misleading description suggests you can switch from bump fire to sequential fire for more precise work. This is not the case. While the bump fire is less aggressive than other staplers this size there is no sequential fire option on this stapler.

The gun worked flawlessly. I bought it for putting up siding on a 1000 SQ.FT. garage and it made the job easier and far faster than trying to use nails and hammers. It is light weight and well balanced. the depth adjustment let me make sure the staples didn't drive in to far and left the siding free to expand and contract. The bump fire setting also helped keep the job moving. I thought this was a very well made tool and a great deal for the price.

This purchase was a mistake. This unit misfires. pull the trigger once and you get no staple, the next time it might bump fire and you get two staples... inconsistent and unreliable.

The pneumatic stapler worked but the depth adjustment is crude. It does not permit the staple to be placed in such a way as to not crush the top layers of the wood being stapled. It is optimal if wood shingles are attached without crushing the first 1/16th inch.
