Bumpy, noisy, poor lighting
Following are my complaints with this unit, which I've had for about 6 months 1. The control strip is bumpy - almost warped (see pic), which makes it look cheap, especially next to my beautiful GE Profile induction range, which has a glass control strip. 2. The soft buttons are hard to read and push. I put colored tape on Start and Stop. 3. I don't eat Popcorn or Potatoes 4. It sounds like a helicopter taking off (??) 5. The light is not bright enough and gets very hot because it's not an LED

    Cheap poorly designed plastic
    I have had this microwave for about 4 yrs. After 2 yrs of normal use the door switches failed. While repairing this I noticed some of the screws that hold the front plastic on were broken. I looked up those parts & they’re several hundred dollars. Luckily enough screw locations were still intact to reassemble it. 2 yrs have passed & now the microwave trips the circuit breaker. Open it back up to find the main board just flopping around since all the screw points holding it in place have failed.

      I had this for a short time only like a month so far it is nice and sleek looking especially with the induction stove I bought that matches. It is a microwave. It does what it should.

      UNSATISFIED ..two weeks OF USE, NOT WORKING
      Microwave delivered the end of Sept only 2 weeks of use due to traveling. Beginning of November it stops working. ITS SERVICED 11/15… Service man said transformer needs to be replaced. A WEEK BEFORE THANKSGIVING and I’ll have no microwave. Was told it can’t be fixed till after thanksgiving…)WAITING IN DATE AS I TYPE) .MAYBE first week of DECEMBER. NEVER EVER WILL I PURCHASE ANOTHER GE APPLIANCE!!! GE SUCKS!!!!

        Buyer beware
        This microwave worked great until it didn’t only 3 years old and cost to fix the broke parts is as much as we bought it for. Would not recommend as not friendly for maintenance or replacing parts. 10-10 would not recommend.

          tiny inside, huge door, wasted space
          I replaced my GE microwave witha handle and side Corp panel to this GE Profile that has the handle built in the door and control panel along the bottom edge. I HATE this microwave and will be returning as soon asi fix my other there is a ton of dead space on the right side of this microwave, where my control panel is on my old microwave. Plus this microwave doesn't have the Melt function that my old one did!!

            Stop working of almost 3 yrs. Came to repair and have to wait for 3 parts. GE PROFILE is not what it used to be disappointed with GE over this Microwave. 😕. If buying make sure get full warranty because you are going to need it. Nothing is made like they use too!!!

              Stopped working after 3 years
              Very bad quality, the clips from the top cover filter broke after 6 months. I tape it to stay in place. 3 years and the microwave is dead, no light nothing. I tried a different plug and still the same. Vent is poor made too All the steam is blowing on the top of the cabinet staining entire cabinet I paid close to $600 for this piece of junk I thought is going to last at least 10 years. Look nice,poor quality I should get reimbursed at least half of price for not making it not even to 5 years.

                Sleek and Spacious
                We replaced our previous microwave with this product which is slightly smaller in height that gives us more room over the gas cooktop. So far it is producing great results. Love it!

                  Two years and Dead
                  Very expensive microwave and looks great but started tripping the breaker. Replaced the breaker ….but same issue. Went to to try a different plug in and then got zapped with a spark of electric current. Then saw the prong was melted. Yikes!! I see lots of reviews with this breaker problem. Is there a recall? I would expect GE to replace these defective microwaves immediately before someone gets electrocuted or it burns someone’s house down.

                      Do NOT buy this microwave!
                      I bought this microwave in July 2021, we did a full kitchen remodel so we bought all of the GE appliances together and they didn’t install for 2 months additionally. This was only in use for less than 18 months and it not longer works. It will not turn on. Absolutely pass on this. No warranty in place after 12 months. GE will not be getting any more of my money.

                        Size changed since two years ago
                        I bought one of these two years ago, and it quit working a couple months ago. It wasn't worth having someone come look at it, so I decided to replace it with the exact same model, to make it as easy as possible to install. It was not. The dimensions on the website no longer match the actual dimensions, it's over an inch shorter. The mounting bracket was completely different, and the bolt holes on top were in different places.

                          Over promises and under delivers
                          I can't recommend this. It only has one halogen bulb for cooktop lighting. It's off-center and not very bright. On the GE Appliances website, it says cooktop lighting is LED (false). On the Home Depot website, it says LED Controls—the control panel is highly visible and easy to read thanks to bright LED controls (false, no LED controls). Also, it says Steam Clean—make easy work of light messes in your microwave thanks to a steam clean option (false, there is no steam clean option).

                            Stopped Working after TWO YEARS!
                            Do NOT waste your money on this microwave! I bought all four of the GE Appliances for my new kitchen because GE was an American Icon. This microwave stopped working after a couple years! Also, the vent is completely useless and vents to nowhere. Now my very expensive microwave is sitting in my garage. Junk!

                                Design Flaw. Door cable kinks...
                                ... fabric-braided cable kinked after 9 months of normal use, causing the closing of the door to start the microwave. Repaired under warranty. Same issue 8 months later. Second repair was to be at MY expense. Yeah, right. When it worked, it did did fine... until id didn't.

                                    Looks good but Died after 14 months
                                    I bought this unit and the repair tech told me that the sensor/motor died after only 14 months. The door needs to be replaced and I made the mistake of not buying extended coverage so the repair cost is $450. The GE repair tech Leo is amazing and tried to get GE appliances to cover some of the cost but they would not. I will be buying a new microwave now. Make sure you buy extended if you like the looks and end up buying it.

                                      Clean and easy to use.
                                      Very easy to use with enough buttons to speed up common tasks but not too many which would confuse the interface. My request would be for it to air fry.

                                        Broke After A Couple Months
                                        Bought this model because we liked the look, and it does look great. Unfortunately, the components that distribute the microwaves failed after a month or two, making it unsafe to use. The stirrer motor and connected pieces completely melted, causing zapping sounds and eventually the smell of burnt plastic, and damaged surrounding parts of the microwave. Replaced the failed pieces and still not functioning properly. Extremely disappointed.

                                          Had to replace 2 GE profile Microwaves in 5 years
                                          After opening and closing over the first year, the panel started to turn off at times. We'd have to wiggle the panel to get the controls to work. Then by the end of the second year, the controls just stopped working completely. The interior light still comes on when you open the panel, so it's gotta be a short of some kind in the cable to the front panel. Was told the door would have to be replaced. It was over $400 to replace the front panel. May as well buy a new microwave at that price.. This was our second GE microwave to replace In 5 years, so disappointed.

                                            2 years is all we got.
                                            I love this microwave but only got 2 years. It started tripping the main breaker in the garage. Then when we turn it back on it blew something and there was smoke! Scared us so bad. Is there a recall for this? I see I am not the only one with the same issue.

                                              Died after 2 years
                                              We loved the look of this microwave. Our whole kitchen is GE slate appliances. The front panel is faulty though. After opening and closing over the first year, the panel started to turn off at times. We'd have to wiggle the panel to get the controls to work. May as well buy a new microwave at that price... but we kind of locked ourselves in with GE's slate look, so we're stuck with choosing another GE one (we won't be getting this same one). Was really sad this barely lasted two years and has now sat dead over our range for over a year. :(

                                                broke in 2 years/Very vey weak
                                                Takes forever to heat things up and I’ve owned it for just two years and it started to pop my breaker. I tried a different outlet and it’s still doing the same thing. Now it doesn’t work at all. Very very weak! Low power means it takes a lot longer to heat things up...A lot longe. It’s a bummer because it looks great.

                                                  Poor design placing button strip where most of the humid heat rises from the range below. Poor quality adhesives.
                                                  This was my first GE profile purchase. I had the microwave for 3 months, and the button strip at the door bottom has started to warp and separate from the underlying substrate. I wonder if it was a good design to place an adhesive button strip along the bottom of the door where humid heat rises from the range below. Additionally, the device does not have an auto reheat option for beverages. All my prior and more economical Panasonic microwaves had this function and gave easily over a decade of service before breaking. Call GE customer service on a Saturday, and they responded to call back Mon-Fri central time. Of course, I work during the same time period making the warranty process that much more difficult.
