Great set for auto tech schools, if you need Good quality torx, hex set.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is another nice little kit from Gearwrench that fullfills normal tasks, and some special purposes. I was surprised when I need to finish assembling a rowing machine that it needed an allen head tool to accomplish this. The crappy one that comes with it the machine doesn't cut it. Thankfully this kit has one that did. Not only that, but when my wife asked me to adjust her headlights, I didnt realize they needed a special socket to do so. Low and behold, this kit has them! It also has an assortment of other bits, including the security "T" bits. I already know this will come in handy on my next brake job as well, since there is a star bit bolts for the caliper. I really like this kit. I would recommend this along with a gearwrech ratchet set. Then you have almost evrything you needd for a basic brake job or other honey do tasks!

It handled front caliper slide bolts for a brake job effortlessly, also worked perfectly on the bolts for a rear tire carrier and rear camera. The kit has everything TORX and Allen heads that you need all in handy convenient this kit will be utilized heavily in the future.

It also comes with long torx and hex keys for hard to reach places. The long hex key has a roundness to get at different angles. It has a bit sockets to help with specialty bolts. I have no complaints at this time.

I would put these up against any of the competitors out there. The case the tools comes in holds them nice and tight.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Starting off with this set, I was pleased with the blow molded plastic case that holds all of the sockets, securely. I choose this set, since I didn't have a complete compresnive set of Torx, Allen, inverted Torx, and many others. This comprehensive set allows for easy of travel and better productivity being all in 1 case with a easy ergonomic handle on the carrying case. The only thing I can think of that may be a nice change to see is; detachable lid from bottom or removable inserts to aid in toolbox organization. As when placed in a tool box the case must be removed and opened, the current case design is great during service truck road use, it stays closed and organized. I plan to buy another set in the future, for stationary use in the shop tool box.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A really complete set of Hex and Torx bits in a sturdy case. I don’t think there’s a size missing that you could ever want. The extended length Torx and Hex bits are incredibly useful for reaching those deep set cap screws that you can’t get to with a regular bit. They were particularly useful in swapping out the foot peg mounts on my Harley Softail. They also include the tamper proof Torx bits which you think you’ll never need until you do! The case keeps everything organized with raised lettering for each size and the bits are deep etched as well. When you snap them back into the case in their proper place they stay there, which I have not found to be the case with cheaper tools. All in all, well worth the money!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon first opening this set, i was shocked by the sheer amount of tools within. Seeing the number of bits on the box just didn't prepare me. I chose this set because as an autobody technician and mechanic, we use a lot of allen and torx bolts. This is probably the last set I'll ever need to get. But this set goes up to 3/4 inch in the allen size. Normally I'd never use anything that big, but as the shop i work at is connected to a tool and die shop, I perform occasional maintenance on screw machines. The big allen keys in this set are perfect. I even used some of them with an impact driver, and they stood up to it. I realize they aren't rated for that, but I didn't feel any concern when i used them that way. The drives range from 1/4 to 1/2 inch ratchet size and are sized well to make them very useful. My only negative is that the case is a bit large and i had to clear out a whole drawer for this in my toolbox. That being said, the case is convenient and both the tools and case are marked well enough that i don't always need my reading glasses to find a size. I have no concern about the strength of this set, and I probably will use them only with manual tools from now on, but i really wanted to give them a little stress. Overall i cannot complain much about this set.

This set definitely fit the bill and comes in a very nice case that secures all of the bits and pieces. The ball end Allen’s are a life saver and the extended torx are a must have!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use hex bits all of the time. I have never bought the long ball end because I didn’t think I would use them much. Boy was I wrong. These have fast became my go to for Allen wrenches. The sockets are a better quality than what I was currently using. They fit snug and don’t round the head out. If you use Allen wrenches this set is a must have. Everything you need in one box. As with all my sockets I do wish that the numbers on the case and sockets were a little more readable. This hex and torx bit socket set is going to be your one stop shop for basically all of your home and professional needs. The bits are made of a chrome-steel alloy with a nice polish finish that will keep them in excellent prime condition for years to come. At eighty four pieces you will have a bit for just about every job that pops up. All of it is neatly organized within the hard case.

Its not many times that I do repairs that I need a Torx wrench or a tort bit but when it does present the need I always have held my breath . It seems so many times I've not had the right size ,especially metric . I finally decided that I was tired of this problem happening when and at a time with not being able I borrow one or made due . I decided to end it and order a high quality full set. Boy am I happy. ! First it's an 84 piece assortment ,that I can't imagine.any a time I won't have what I need, again! And boy, the quality! I never seen anything that comes close ! It's an investment that will last for a long time !

This Master SAE/Metric Hex and Torx Bit Socket Set (84-long shaft ) by GearWrench is one outstanding set of hex and torx sockets. This 84 piece set will cover almost any job you may come across. There has been many times when I needed a shaft torx bit and now I have 10 of them in the most used sizes. All the socket bases are heat treated means they are strong and will last a long time. Between my pickup truck, the wife's car, my tractor and our Class C RV I always have a need of all of the bits in this set. I have many products by GoodWrench and have never regretted buying anything from them. This set of bits will be used a lot n the coming years.

I discovered GearWrench products about six years ago when I saw their combination wrench set. Because of the design each wrench can accommodate SAE and metric fittings. No longer a need to carry both types and no more rounded over nuts and bolts, all the pressure is on the flats and not the points. Because of the versatility this is my set of wrenches that I never leave home without. When I ordered this 84 piece set on Home Depot's site I was impressed with the variety of bit and sockets shown but not until I actually had it in my grubby little mitts did I realize the size range from small to large that's included. Combine this set with a good set of screwdriver bits and deep well impact sockets and there's no job you won't be able to handle. They even included a good assortment of Torx security bits. This is impressive and well worth the price. This set is probably more that the average homeowner needs but every tool junkie should have one of these in their arsenal. This specialty, comprehensive socket set doesn’t include ratchets or a manual driver handle. It DOES include 84 quality machined English/ Metric sockets: Hex, Torx, Tamper-Proof Torx, E-Torx, and Long bits. Good price point for a set that, priced individually, would be a small fortune. Great for us do-it-yourselfers that occasionally need that once-in-a-while right-sized tool. Don’t believe we’ll live long enough to use them all but we expect to save money and enjoy the convenience of having the proper tool for one-off repairs. The plastic-molded case is a little disappointing. It’s great to have a place for every bit, identified by clear raised numbers and sizes on the case itself. But, even though the long bits (attached to the lid of the case) have an indentation that secure them into their respective slots, the other bits don’t “snap” into place. If you open the case wrong-side up, it’s a chore… especially with the tiny font size stamped on the 1/4 inch sockets. Younger eyes and much patience required if you happen to make that mistake! The Home Depot website has up-close manufacturer photos of many of the components. Every piece is hand stamped for identification. Heat treated socket bases for durability. You'll get 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2". The case is reasonably rugged. Great set of tools

The GearWrench Hex and Torx socket set is as complete a set as you could ask for. It contains both SAE and Metric sizes as well as regular and tamper proof Torx. It has 6" long Torx and Hex Ball Drivers (3/8) Drive. They are 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2" drive depending upon the bit size. The Torx. Starts at T-8 and goes to T-60, E-Torx goes from E-4 to E-24. The Hex Bits start at 1/8 and go to 3/4 (SAE) and 2.5mm to 19MM. They fit well on ratchets with a de tent for the ball to keep them from coming off easily. Overall Tool quality seems very good. The case holds most of the bits in place but the smaller ones will get displaced when the case is carried and will be mixed up when opened. I put some very thin craft foam between the two halves and this eliminated the problem.

Great set for a good price. A mechanic introduced me to the brand a while back, so far all thier products have been able to take a beatin. I like that the pieces fit tight and stay put in its storage case. A definite plus is the lifetime warranty for replacement. Any store that sells their products will replace a broken wrench on the spot as long as they have one in stock. My local Home Depot does not stock, but there's a bunch of auto parts stores that sell them. These are made in China, which seems to be quite a concern lately but realistically I have a hard time finding any that I can actually afford that are still made in the US. And in my opinion its all the quality control or lack of and it looks though GearWrench stands behind the quality so they must be keeping a close eye on it.

This is a great set of Hex heads to have in the tool bag. They are easy to read as far as size goes and this kit has almost every size that you will ever need unless its something very special. The socket holder holds the sockets for easy storage or so you can get to the one that you need very easily. They fit the standard socket head very nicely and are tight. Due to the different sizes this is a handy tool to have around. I would recommend this from the DIY'er to the professional. Great Tool.

Hex bit sockets are very useful for projects that feature hex head screws. You typically see them in self assembly products like furniture. If you are tired of using the little hex wrench that comes in the furniture package, this is the solution for you. This GearWrench set features 12 sockets from 1/16 inch to 3/8 inch using a 3/8 inch drive. Stamping on the socket is easy to read. The socket base is nicely chromed with no defects that I could find. The hex portion is pressed into the socket so these should not be used with impact wrenches. The set comes with a plastic sliding storage rail that can be wall mounted. The sockets snapped onto the rail and stayed in place. The mount points in the rail slide around easily. The edges of the hex are ground at a slight angle to make inserting them easier.

Just received this great set of hex sockets and couldn't be happier. Most DIY people think a regular socket set is enough to get by with until you lug home a big piece of furniture and it comes with all the hardware and one single hex key. Throw that away, pop one of these onto your drill and enjoy all the time you'll save with assembly. This set is just what I needed, each piece has a good weight to it, they're chromed nicely, and the number stamping on each piece is easy to read. And they even come with their own socket rail for easy storage. Each socket snapped firmly into my ratchet with virtually no play once locked in. More than enough sizes ensures you'll always have the right one for the job. And you'll be surprised at how often you'll find a use for these.
