Great smart plug solution that gives two outlets while just taking up one receptacle AND you can control each one individually using Alexa, although you still have to register the device on the Globe app. That setup is easy following the included instructions, then linking the Alexa skill to the registered app. The plug also has lighted buttons on the front so you can turn them on manually, and know which one is active at a glance (while other brands have the light on the side which can be hard to see.)

Here is a very easy way to improve the way your home functions. This smart plug can be either touch or voice activated. We have a Google home mini assistant which pairs perfectly with this plug. I was able to set it up on my phone in 20 minutes. I now have the ability to turn the light on before I even go down into the basement with my phone. This is a very nice feature, as my basement media area is dark. I don't have to go over to the area and fumble with the light. I could also use the voice activation, however; I have to be in the basement to perform that function. This plug has two outlets. It was very easy to pair with my iPhone X. The printed directions and the on screen directions are very clear. This is a great device.

Smart home is your dream? This might be just the smart plug you’re looking for! I’ve been on the bleeding edge of home automation for over 20 years, not an exaggeration, ask my long suffering spouse about frustrating and unreliable lights, dimmers, switches, sensors, cameras, irrigation, weather, appliances, you name it, I’ve likely tried it. Globe has done a commendable job with this solution. It’s pretty simple to setup, it’s primarily smartphone app based, and relatively straight forward. It’s wifi based so not a lot of hoops to jump through so long as you’ve got a wifi AP that’s 2.4GHZ. The plug is thoughtfully designed, it takes up only one outlet in a standard duplex outlet leaving the other open and usable. It provides two separate controllable outlets, two separate switches to control each outlet and blue led indicators to show which is energized. It works great with virtually no lag. The plug works with great with the Globe Suite app and Google Home and Alexa. You can also use this in a “scene” you can create in the app, using “if this happens, then do that” type of logic.The app itself is full featured, you can do a ton of cool stuff, especially if you have more than one Globe device. There is a learning curve here, because there is a lot of functionality, and you could get frustrated if something is not working like you’d expect. The website is surprisingly awesome, when compared to the other ”smart” device manufacturers’ sites that are usually weak. https://globe-electric.com/en/smart/ Here there are actually useful FAQS, that provide actual solutions, with instructions and screen shots. There are how to videos. There’s also a call number and web form I did reach out to support and they responded quickly via email.

Globe Electric two outlet wi-fi control plug is a great way to add home automation. The plug is controlled by a downloaded app and when set up it can be linked to Alexa and google making it voice controlled as well. It does not require a hub to use, simply plug it in and go through the easy setup. You must set up a globe account after you install the app. Unit will only link to a 2.4ghs wi-fi network, as is standard. App is easy to use and features both a schedule mode and a timer count down mode. With the app you can control the outlets from anywhere. Each outlet can be controlled individually. To use with Alexa or Google, you need to enable the skill and link it to your globe account. Then create a unique name for each outlet to take advantage of voice control. Outlets are heavy duty and rated for 15 Amp load. Each outlet can also be controlled manually at the plug through a mini push switch on the front of the unit. The horizontal design allows you to still you the remaining wall outlet independent of the Globe unit.

I love the convenience of smart plugs and this compact Globe wi-fi smart plug doesn't take up too much space and is really easy to set up - no hub required! 1.Download the Globe Suite app 2.Create an account or log-in 3.Verify your network 4.Insert smart plug 5.Select + sign (top right ) 6.Select plug type and follow instructions within the app ... I had no problems whatsoever setting this up and it was very easy to sync with my echo dot - works with Alexa or Google. I have trouble walking, so the more smart plugs the better, and this was easier to set-up than some of my other smart plugs!

For my home WiFi network it took going to the alternate method of using the sub-route network the device itself generates instead of doing a direct install on my network directly through router itself. We have a mesh router system that detects on most equipment the band that the device needs to be on but that didn't happen with any of the Globe Electric Products. I cant select the 2.4 band manually. But using the alternate method setting up the dual outlet plug was quite fast and painless. Each side of the outlet can be independently controlled from the app on your phone and or added to switch on or off in a smart scene or as a scheduled event. The outlets may be turned off or on in unison or independently

Good price. Doesn't block your other outlet. Each outlet is controlled individually. The app is easy to use. Connects to Alexa. We use it to voice activate our Christmas tree. Basic timer features come with the app. If you want to do more complicated routines like on at Sunset, you need to work with IFTT. Highly configurable smart outlet controller. Feeling a bit intimidated by this smart technology? Then scan the QR code on the box lid and be taken to the Globe website for guidance and answers to your questions. Once downloaded or opened the Globe Suite app provides step by step instructions on how to pair the device with the app. Once connected the switches can be independently controlled either physically at the plug or via the Globe Suite app from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. The app has a lot of additional functionality such as setting timers, schedules and repetition options as well as voice activation and control with Google Assistant or Alexa. The plug is currently used to control the charging of two heavy duty batteries. I can set them to charge up after they have been used doing yard work and turn the chargers off remotely and then top them up for an hour prior to their next use.

I just recently added this plug as well as their outdoor plug to my Christmas displays, could not...
I just recently added this plug as well as their outdoor plug to my Christmas displays, could not be happier. They both work the same, one is just for indoor use and the other is sealed for outdoor. Out of the box, plug it in, go into the app on my phone and follow the prompts to pair the outlet. It literally took maybe 2 minutes. Now using my phone I can turn the Christmas lights on and off from anywhere. I also set schedules to both smartplugs turn on and off at exactly the same time. No more analog timers that you can never sync up exactly the same. Additionally, you can control both plugs independently. And the wifi range is great. Both my indoor and outdoor outlets are at the furthest points from my router, probably 20-25' away and both function as expected.

            Beware that it can stop working any time
            The hardware itself is great. I really like the design and the fact you can control two devices independently. Unfortunately, it requires internet access for it to work, not just a local wi-fi network. It seems to have to go through a remote server in order to function, which means that if your internet connection fails or the server gets shut down, this "smart" plug becomes dumb. And if you don't think it won't happen in the future, just ask all the Nest or Best Buy Insignia owners what happened to them.
