Make sure to check compatibility first. It is great I changed it constantly and got it right and now it’s learnt my programming so I seldom have to touch it

Great purchase. Easy to hookup and program. For $250 I feel the backing plate could come color matched to the thermostat. I was able to spray mine to match. I use two of these and they are great.

This product is a total Piece of Garbage!!! It's first issue with learning our favorite settings and automatically adjusting the temperature 'FROZE US INCREDIBLY during the winter months! When we called Customer Service, their solution was to turn the learning and automation off. So for $250 all we now had was a regular thermostat. During the summer months, it runs and runs and runs our air conditioner so much that it's created problems with our A/C unit. Thinking how inaccurate the thermostat is, we decided to put 2 other thermometers near our Nest unit. While the Nest unit says 77 degrees, the accurate thermometers are actually at 70 degrees. Most of the positive reviews for this piece of garbage are based on a few days using the unit after installation. Look at the negative reviews and you will see that in time many people have too many issues with their unit. MY ADVICE TO ALL IS TO NOT SPEND A SMALL FORTUNE FOR THIS TOTAL PIECE OF GARBAGE! Since Customer Service really does nothing for you, I HOPE ONE DAY A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT IS FILED AGAINST THIS COMPANY! AMEN!

Very nice product and also save electricity bills

Works as advertised. No surprises. The install was easy for me but I have done lots of electrical work.

Great product. Easy to install and to operate. I am able to control my thermostat remotely and setup temperature for different times of the day. This device connects to your home Wi-Fi and displays the current outside temperature and the weather forecast for the next three days.

Do NOT buy Nest thermostat... everyone said to buy Ecobee (& it was less expensive). Wanted the fancy Nest. Now I have a $250 paperweight. Battery eventually dies & can’t change or charge it. Nest offered me 20% off a new one. NO THANKS!

The Nest Gen 3 thermostat comes with amazingly well documented step-by-step installation manual that guides you all through the way form removing your former unit to walking you through programming it to know when you are away via your cell phone's GPS! The very complete box comes with all the baseplates that could possibly be needed to cover up where your your old unit was installed. I'm looking forward to my heating bill to see what the change in Natural Gas use is. Don't forget to look for rebate information from your local gas and electric utilities.

Bought this a few weeks back, along with other Nest products. All connect easily and monitored by one app. To those who opened their existing thermostat only to be disappointed to find stranded vs solid copper wires, don't return the Nest right away as your system may still be low voltage. I encountered this, but after investigating my system I realized I could still install the Nest by simply connecting my stranded setup to 18 gauge solid wires...also available at HD. Anyway, great product and pretty quick to install...even quicker if you have the proper wiring from the start, I bet. It's winter in Calgary so I haven't had a chance to control my A/C yet, but so far so good. The optional temperature sensors are a great addition, and super easy to link to the app and thermostat for additional temperature regulating throughout your home. I also recommend other Nest products like the Hello and Indoor Camera too, as they all sync well right into the Nest app.

Great product this was my second in our new house. It sets a pattern when walk by to warm and cool the house. Had the first one for eight years. Nothing I don't like about it, and took about five minutes to hook up, ready to go.

I have had this thermostat for year, and have seen a consistent savings over the previous years without the Nest. The airwave feature during the summer is a great way to maximize energy use by utilizing the already cooled coils and fan. I also enjoy that it tracks my daily usage, and that it can be controlled through the same app as my other nest gadgets.

Easy to install and use. Nest customer service made it easy to configure the wiring from my existing system to the Nest. It's also great to be able to control from my smartphone as I don't have to go up and down the stairs the configure the thermostat. I also like that it can be configured to turn on either the furnace or the A/C automatically. Very practical during days where the outside temperature varies during the day in the spring or fall.

The Nest Smart Learning Wi-Fi Programmable 3rd Generation Thermostat was easy to install. If you can read with understanding and good with a screwdriver you can have it installed and programed within 1 hour if not sooner. I would buy it again.

Installation was pretty straight forward following the included instructions! Once wired in the thermostat walks you thru the setup and testing of all the different components of your system. The ability to tell Google or Alexa to change the temperature is probably one of the coolest features with this thermostat. I wish I would have purchased one of these sooner!

Easy to install, easy to use, and great edit for your home.

Thermostat is very easy to install. The instructions are easy to understand and follow. Connecting to the WiFi was as easy as any other device. I would download the app to your phone first and use that to give you the step by step instructions. Took me a little while on how to put in the password. sliding your finger around the outer edge moves the selector. I like the way it walks you through setting up everything from the heater & A/C to the temps you want and where you live. I like the display when you walk up to it or by, it will light up, and the display is large and easy to read up close or at a distance. The app gives you all the same setup menus that are on the thermostat. I'll probably use the app more since things are easier to find on it. Great product. Glad I purchased it.

I live in the south with summer temperatures reaching the low 100 degrees F, so I decided to install a nest thermostat in our new construction home (Finished early 2016) with hopes of a more energy efficient home and I can say I have not been disappointed. I live in a 2700 square foot home and my energy bill averages throughout the year just over $150 with summer cooling peaking at $200 (my previous home had energy bills well into the $300 range during the summer months). The 2 functions that make the biggest difference for me are: 1. The learning function. Nest notices when I routinely change the temp (we keep our thermostat set on 72 during the summer but at night drop that to 69 when we go to bed) and it will automatically do that for us. 2. The Eco function. This function allows you to set minimum and maximum temperatures. As you can see in the attached picture I set my minimum to 60 degrees and my maximum to 78 degrees so Nest can dictate whether or not to run the heat or AC while we're away. With this function I'm not running my AC or heater unnecessarily. Plus, once Nest notice no traffic in your home it will automatically go to ECO, so you don't have to worry about setting it every time. It has very nice design and looks great on the wall. Very user friendly, easy to use and Nest’s manual makes learning how to operate this Thermostat a breeze. The smart phone app is a great plus as well. When we travel, it’s nice to turn the Heat or AC on so the house will be at our desired temperature once arriving home. The Nest thermostat will pay for itself in no time with the energy saving features plus the added convenience makes this a great product and I highly recommend adding this to your home.
