This smart thermostat takes one thing off your mind. There are many programmable thermostats out there, but this works with many smart devices and has an app to change temperature. I can set it anywhere if I'm in bed, vacation, or about to head home it lets me have peace of mind for my gas furnace savings. It also can use your location feature on your phone to turn control the thermostat if it being used or not when you are nearby or away from home. I use Alexa and it is easy to program and to setup like a programmable thermostat depending on the season, time, and weather. Doing this the thermostat also can learn your habits and automatically adjust for it. I rarely touch my thermostat now as is it automatic. I've used about every generation of the nest thermostats personally and they've been rock solid for me. The key is always installing the common wire. Nest stands behind the product and getting replacements for bad units has never been a problem. As a pro installer as well I have nothing bad to say. A lot of hvac techs complain about the product but really it comes down to widespread ignorance in the hvac industry .

I love that it was an easy installation. Please disconnect circuit to thermostat. It is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and easy to read in color. I love the feature of being able to see the weather (outside temperature) and icons for sun, cloudy, rain, etc. More valuable info than setting it on clock. However, my unit will not connect the app to use remotely on my phone. I heard this is an issue; but I didn't purchase it for that. It will learn when I am not home and adjust the temperature based on my personal settings. Plus, it earns you an rebate from your power company!

Do your research before buying this product! You have been warned. WIFI chip went bad in mine in less than 6 months. Their customer service is non-existent. Chat only, no phone support. Warranty says 2-years, but they will not honor it. Horrible cheap product. Features are awesome when they work, the problem is they are not reliable. Search online for Nest WIFI chip failure. Then make your decision. I recommend buying a different brand altogether.

I really like this product. Installation was a breeze and it gave my room a nice upgraded look. It wakes up when you walk by it, which is pretty cool, as I sometime use it as a night light. Overall great product.

Great product. Had to return this though because there was a used one in the factory sealed box. Great staff at HD. No hassle returning it but they were sold out of this color so I got another one.

The old thermostat didn't seem to be working properly so we decided to go hi tech with our new purchase. I'm so glad we did. We had a new A/C unit installed in September 2016 and It just didn't feel as comfortable in the house as I did in the past. This thermostat shows the humidity also which is perfect. You should know what the humidity is in your home. This proved to my husband we have high humidity. I have a repair man coming tomorrow from home depot. We just purchased the Nest thermostat and extra sensor yesterday. But it seems to cycle the airconditioner much better so far. It was easy for my husband to install and I already got back my rebate from the Illuminating company!! Best part I could turn the air conditioner down after I go to bed without getting up!!! The only downside was one of the clips was broken on the unit and my husband had to return the first one. After he had installed all the wires.

The thermostat works well, seems a like a little much for what it actually does. But most importantly it DOES NOT qualify for the SCE rebate like they claim.

The Google nest is a great product! This system controls your temperature in the house through learning your habits. Already my electric bill has gone down. You can also set your own schedule through the Nest app on your phone or your computer. At night if i want a little cooler, i just get my phone and go through the nest app and change it. Easy Peasy! I am also 67 years old woman and installed the Google Nest by myself. I watched their video on YouTube and also read the instructions. Very simple to install. I give Google Nest the highest rating! I also plan on installing the Google Nest Secure for my home security.

I installed the Nest thermostat after consulting with the Nest compatibility checker. Despite not having a Common wire, Nest advised me that I could install the product without a problem. After a couple of months, I started to experience the well documented 'pulsing' problem that is widely discussed online. This issue caused the AC to start, stop, stutter and make noises. For months, my AC tech tried to identify the problem, resulting in about $1,000 in fees. The issue resulted in damage to the compressor from turning it on and off so many times. I finally found an online forum describing this issue and I had a C wire installed. It immediately fixed the problem. Nest is sometimes incompatible without a C wire despite the fact that they will tell you otherwise. Now that the problem is fixed, I do like the Nest. The learning portion of the thermostat can be somewhat irritating. I think that I prefer the manual entry of AC schedule and that the "smart" aspect of the thermostat might cause more work than it saves. However, it is pretty easy to go into the schedule section and adjust the temperature schedule, which ironically, is what I would have done if I had to set the schedule myself in the first place.

The Google Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Generation arrived well packaged without damage. They were very easy to install. The setup was a bit of a challenge because I was not able to connect them both to the same Nest item I already have installed. I had to connect one through my Nest Doorbell and the other through my Nest Hub even though they are all on the same network. I like the easy controls and set points. I like how it can be set to operate per a defined schedule. I've had the thermostats for a month now and look forward to incorporating other Nest products into my home. The product performs as advertised and met my expectations.

This is a great smart thermostat. It was very easy to install. If there are any issues during install, the Nest Support is very helpful. The app is very user friendly and functional. Eco mode is a helpful way to save money when you are away from home.

First, I’d like to say, this thermostat does what its suppose to do. I installed it myself and it worked just fine with my older unit. Install was a breeze with only a couple of wires. It works flawlessly if its compatible with your current system. Prior to install, you might want to check with your HVAC servicer. When we had a new Unit put in, I was advised that Nest has an issue that would make SOME higher effeciency units run longer than needed. Luckily the unit that was installed at my house is compatible with this Nest. Be advised, some of the smart thermostats can be too smart for some units. The one issue I have with this product is the limted face options. I would like to be able to see the time, temp and outside temp upon it waking up from movement. It only allows for one or the other. Thats a major flaw for me

Easy installation and works great!

Bought a two pack of the “polished Steel” Nest third generation thermostats. So far pleased. Stylish. Easily painted white faceplate, wall color. Metal is shiny. Links well with Google Home.

My sister-in-law was so happy when I solved her HVAC problem when I installed the Google Nest Smart Thermostat. It is user friendly & easy to install. Definitely best!

For years I wondered if a learning thermostat or specifically a Nest Learning Thermostat was worth it. I was always hesitant due to the cost that on the surface seems like a lot of money. Well after just a day of owning one, I'm now wishing I would have invested in one sooner! PROBLEMS WITH MY OLD THERMOSTAT: My condo has a heat pump with an electric Aux/EM backup. I've had a number of issues with my previous thermostat. These issues have included: 1) having to manually turn on the Aux heat source when needed. Not good when you wake up in the middle of the night to cold air pouring out of your vents. 2) always switching it on and off due to cold or heat running too long, never getting the temperature just right. 3) thermostat not adjusting to drastic weather changes where switching from heat to cool is required 4) waking during the night and being too hot or cold and having to go downstairs to adjust PROBLEMS SOLVED BY THE NEST: The great thing about the Nest Thermostat is that it has solved these problems. I can set a specified temperature to start using the Aux heat source. The Nest also has something called "Airwave" which switches off the AC compressor and uses the fan to move the air around which solves problem #2. In addressing problem #3, it can be set to "heat/cool" mode, which sets a cooling and heating temperature. So on days where it goes from warm to cold or visa versa, the thermostat will adjust accordingly. and #4, everything can be controlled from your phone. I woke up during the night a bit cold last night and was able to turn the heat up from my bed and go back to sleep. Another great thing for me personally is that I ride my bike on an indoor trainer. Often times I start out fine and then have to stop at some point and click the air on. This morning I was able to just click through on my phone and turn the fan on while riding (which can be set in increments and automatically turn off). INSTALLATION: Installation was a breeze. I was a little nervous about it because of having a heat pump and aux source. However, my previous thermostat was labeled well and it took only a few minutes for setup. Just pop the wires into the right clips, then walk through the setup on screen or through the nest app on your phone. SUMMARY: A beautiful and functional thermostat that will make your home more comfortable and beautiful. If you're on the fence, just save yourself the time and buy it! you won't regret it!

So far, after a month, this product has exceeded my expectations and thus 5 stars. Within a week it started adjusting temperatures on it's own. I have had to make minor temp adjustments because we may have gone to bed sooner or gotten up earlier. That said I have only had to touch the upstairs thermostat once this past week and have not touched the downstairs unit in two weeks. Important note: ensure your heating/cooling system is compatible with a Nest. The set up for the first unit took 45 minutes. Time to turn off the power, remove the original unit, take a picture / write down each wire and letter it was associated to, download the nest app and follow the step by step instructions. The app instructions make the installation very easy and ensure you have installed the wires correctly by showing you what you have set up and compare that with the picture you took / wrote down. I recommend taking your time and do nut rush the installation. The 2nd Nest took 15 minutes to install as I knew what I was looking for. My brother turned me on to it and we both love it. Alexa and google enabled. We are alexa people; it has exceeded my expectations. As for the reduced bill's it's only been a month and my bill was $83 cheaper than last month and $39 cheaper for the same period last year but that's hard to quantify because the weather was different last year and last month. So will need some time to determine the true savings. Best of luck and hope this helps

Didn’t work after I installed it - wouldn’t connect to WiFi or charge . Best support useless and couldn’t fix it. Now have to return it and put the old thermostat back up and re drill holes again etc etc ! 5 hours of my life I won’t get back and nest - google said no reimbursement for wasted time. HD should stop selling this garbage . Buyer beware

Bought the one all in black color and it looks very sleek. I like how the device learn from your routines... and when they change, you can always adjust in manually. I like a lot controlling the nest from the app as well. So far I have been using it for a little more than a month and it works perfect! PS: I also love to have the option of using it in farenheit and celcius. I prefer to use C because I grew up with them and it is easier for me to set temperature in C than in F.

It's alright. 1.you'd better know your thermostat wiring - no easy demo to get you from old to new. 2. be prepared to work thru the device app settings and your phone app settings at installation. Cannot get the app installed on a second household iphone. No amount of tech support will help.I'm halfway tempted to return the device but it took too much work to get it installed so that's not an option and I don't want to go back to my crappy old thermostat.

Works as designed and easy to install.

I received three. After installing, everything worked perfectly. After a week, one will no longer find my Wi-Fi. I have reset the thermostat, powered off and reset the router, and reset the thermostat again. Nothing. It searches for network forever, and then says "no networks".

We upgraded to the nest basically just for the looks . All the options are nice. Seems like it does not turn on as much as are old one. All the equipment to install was included. Took me 20 min.

This Nest thermostat looks great! It was easy to install and setup. We love the display and how it lights up when you come in the room. We got a great deal by purchasing it on sale and by taking advantage of the discounts and rebates offered through the local electricity and gas utility companies.

Great purchase. Easy to hookup and program. For $250 I feel the backing plate could come color matched to the thermostat. I was able to spray mine to match. I use two of these and they are great.

This product is a total Piece of Garbage!!! It's first issue with learning our favorite settings and automatically adjusting the temperature 'FROZE US INCREDIBLY during the winter months! When we called Customer Service, their solution was to turn the learning and automation off. So for $250 all we now had was a regular thermostat. During the summer months, it runs and runs and runs our air conditioner so much that it's created problems with our A/C unit. Thinking how inaccurate the thermostat is, we decided to put 2 other thermometers near our Nest unit. While the Nest unit says 77 degrees, the accurate thermometers are actually at 70 degrees. Most of the positive reviews for this piece of garbage are based on a few days using the unit after installation. Look at the negative reviews and you will see that in time many people have too many issues with their unit. MY ADVICE TO ALL IS TO NOT SPEND A SMALL FORTUNE FOR THIS TOTAL PIECE OF GARBAGE! Since Customer Service really does nothing for you, I HOPE ONE DAY A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT IS FILED AGAINST THIS COMPANY! AMEN!
