Purchased this to stain and make a bar top. I cleaned and sanded the entire piece. Used mineral spirits to wipe down. I then used a wood conditioner for oil base stains. Minwax Jacobean oil base stain. Ugh. I do a lot of refinishing. This was a mess! Lots of areas would not stain and left many bare areas of stain.

Attached pictures are typical of three separate and significant dents. Most likely this review will get a response from manufacturer or HD asking me to return or exchange the two butcher blocks I bought without consideration for my time and my back, hauling items weighing hundreds of pounds back to the store. How about shipping me wood filler, sand paper and compensation to hire a woodworker to fix the dents.

The butcher block has a 3/16" clean birch top, but if you cut into it, to undermount a sink the interior wood is pieced together dark and cracked wood. Looks terrible. they should let you know it is not suitable to cut into

Had to reorder twice due to damage from shipping. Ended up settling and repairing the second one that had several dents in the wood. Packaging was only cardboard with thin sheets in the top and bottom. This is how the damage occurred so easily.

The butcher block countertop is beautiful however the top side has a gash in it that I didn't see until I flipped it over for oiling. I will most likely use the bottom side as the top side because of this.

I purchased 4 different size butcher block pieces and had my own installer put them in while I was away , The countertop pieces do not match at all which shows the same picture under all pieces online , I ended up call the store to be told to online customer service and was then disconnected, I had to call back and was told because they were installed that I could not be helped , it is false advertising of the product online as being the same ,

We were a bit worried the birch would be too pale or blonde. But with one coat of food grade cutting board oil the color is deep and rich. Naturally beautiful. So glad we didn’t try to stain it. Easy to cut, sand and oil.

I ordered two of these for my kitchen island. I drove over 100 miles found trip. Came home prepped them and when I went to install, I come to find out that one is an entire 1/4" wider than the other piece and they do not match up. One piece was 39" wide and the other was 38 3/4". Not only that, but one piece had severl same width pieces and the other had various width pieces. As you can see in pic it is 38 3/4" not 39" as advertised.

Bought a Hardwood Reflections 6'x39'' unfinished birch butcher block from Home Depot on 4/28. Followed the instructions to sand, stain, and seal it immediately with three coats of polyurethane on all surfaces. The finished product looks great until this morning when I noticed that it start warping. The concave side is measured at 6mm off of the flat surface. Totally wasted all the time and materials. Very disappointed.

Worked for the space I needed. Very easy to work with and the end product was amazing.

Multiple defects found in the countertop, to the point I thought it had to be the bad side. Flipped it over, only to find it was twice as bad. Uneven surface areas, cracks, and apparent adhesive/fillers left on surface. Would have returned it, but was in a time crunch and managed to patch and sand some of them, making it mediocre. This is the third butcher block countertop I’ve purchased in the past 2 years. Went with a different vendor for the previous two and will go back to them for future purchases. Disappointed to say the least.

Had the butcher block on an island with four supports underneath. It still cracked, and not along the joint! See pics. Super disappointed but glad I didnt buy this company's butcher block for all my counters. What a disaster.

The quality isn't there. There are splits and defects beyond natural aesthetics. A complete waste of money in my opinion.

Overall, a good experience. Mostly... I had 3 pieces shipped to my home that were delivered on time. They were handled pretty roughly though no real damage during shipping. However, one 10' piece had 4 drink rings on the good side in it! Must have been the end of the day..? Rings sanded right out as it's just wood after all. Another Island piece had quite a large gauge (2" x 1.5" almost 1/4" deep) right in the middle of the good side! Luckily that's where my stove went. Easy to work with.

Beautiful countertop

I'm in love with this tabletop. It looks great and is reasonably priced. I even got some figuring in some of the wood which is quite pretty. It has made a fantastic desktop!

Excellent product, does what it needs to. However, I must have overlooked the specifications, but the 6' butcher block is actually 74". That means it will have a 1" overhang on both sides of a 6foot base. Thats cool, but not cool when you don't plan for it before purchasing. And yes I could cut it, so its not the end of the world. I applied 4 coats of mineral oil and connected it to the base using a nail gun. Looks good, I hope it lasts.

This butcher block stained great and fits our space amazing. It’s exactly what we were looking for.

The butcher block itself is very nice and the wood is well assorted. Nevertheless it was hard to find since it was on a different level in the kitchen section. I was looking for some modern easy attachable legs ( like the Hettich Set of 4 for 40 $)since I want to make an office table out of it. It would make sense at least to have on set in the aisle or an information where at least to find the wooden legs in the lumber section.

Qc must have took the day off. Plastic wrap hid this deffect.

This butcher block looks fantastic. I was going to stain it dark gray before installing on top of my electric fireplace bump out in my new TV room but it looked so good out of the box that I just applied three coats of poly and put it in place.

Perfect for our breakfast nook.
