This is beautiful framing wood. We do a lot of projects that need to be framed and it's not only more cost effective than paying someone else, you can put a stain or paint on the frame that is to your exact liking.

It gets the job done.

I recently ordered two 96” pieces of House of Fara hardwood picture frame moulding from Home Depot online. I am thoroughly disappointed in this product because of the inconsistency between the two pieces of moulding. I cut three sides of my frame from one piece and the fourth side from the second piece. Only after I assembled and glued the pieces did I realize the inconsistency between the two pieces. Because the first piece was 1.60” in width and the second piece was only 1.48” in width the miters didn’t match, and the two sides of the frame were not parallel, which means that my picture didn’t fit the frame. As an aside, not only was the second piece of moulding narrow, but also the wood surface is rough as if it weren’t planed properly.

The wood was so warped, we could barely use it.

I gave this item 2 stars because I ordered (2) 96" lengths of molding, but only one piece was straight enough to be used for a picture frame. The item itself is good, but when you have to have it shipped to the store you get what you get. If I need more in the future, I will buy from a retailer that has the item in stock so I will be able to select it myself.
